About 5 years ago I had lots of dental work done and had a partial made for my top teeth. I had to…read morelive without dental insurance for about 10 years, and my teeth suffered greatly because of it. Over a year ago I finally landed a good job with benefits and returned to their office for more work. The dentist was different when I had work done before, and he was wonderful. The staff is wonderful. Dr. Tupman is terrible. He doesn't need to be practicing. Back in April of this year, I went to the office in Dublin to have two teeth filled. I had broken one while eating with the partial in, and knew it was a possibility that the filling wouldn't last. My teeth were rough and rigid and I was severely swollen after they were fixed. Dr. Tupman said to wait until the swelling healed and to give them a call if we needed to adjust. Well, I waited a week and it still wasn't fitting. I knew this was because he had not put the rest stop back where it had been once he had filled the tooth. (Side note: Yesterday I called it a groove or something of that nature and he said he didn't know what I was talking about and corrected me to use the term rest stop.) I called the office and let them know I needed to come in for an adjustment, but unfortunately had to cancel due to illness. Then, the other tooth he had filled and said may not last needed to be pulled. At this point I returned to the dentist and said we could wait to adjust, as I couldn't wear the partial until it was modified, anyway, because the tooth that was pulled was the anchor tooth. So, he pulled the tooth and sent me on my way after sitting with me and planning what we were going to do when I returned. We decided to add another tooth and a clasp to the partial. When I went in yesterday, the hygienist did an impression and asked if I could put the partial in. I explained that I couldn't because they had already pulled the anchor tooth. (Why they couldn't get that information from their notes on me in the system is beyond me. He tried bending the partial with a pair of pliers before he tried anything else or consulted his notes. The notes are there. I saw them yesterday. After he broke the bad news to me yesterday, I was in shock at his lack of professional courtesy and his overall "too bad for you" attitude. I walked out confused and upset and then decided to return. I explained to him that the reason it didn't fit was because of how he left my tooth after he "fixed" it, at which point he condescendingly asked me to put the partial in to show me that it didn't fit. I said, "Of course it doesn't, you just bent it with pliers five minutes ago." He refused to see where he left excess filling on the back of my tooth, trying to make me feel like an idiot. Any idiot can see what I'm talking about, as the tooth on the other side of my mouth has the same rest stop and same place on the partial. When I came yesterday, I expected to be treated with professionalism because I was about to spend lots of money in their office over the next few weeks. Everything could have been taken care of if he had been prepared, read the notes, and known that he needed to correct his mistake on my tooth before destroying my partial. This dentist, and by proxy, their entire organization, is setting the precedent for very bad customer service. It seems to me Dr. Tupman is knowingly destroying people's teeth to increase their bill and services needed. I have heard this from other people, as well. I expect this to be taken care of immediately. I want my partial fixed, and if it can't be fixed, I want it replaced at no charge. I know Dr. Tupman's main concern is not being liable for anything at all, since he will only do the work that you agree to, and admit knowing that it may not work at all. He said he could work on whichever tooth I wanted, but he couldn't make any promises. I told him that's what he said when he filled my tooth, and look what happened. Dr. Tupman is taking advantage of his patients. This needs to be addressed. UPDATE: tried to post a review on their website and facebook page, but they were not approved. Don't trust the reviews posted. They are only the good reviews.

The nurses and staff are well trained. They are friendly and caring. The only issue that I have is…read morethey say its a free clinic but its not. But they do have a sliding scale which is good.

Dr. Abreu is the worst dentist I've ever been to in my 56 years of living. He's very abrasive. He…read moresaid rude things to patients that are not based on facts. I can see why he is working at a dental clinic. He would never be hired to work in a good dental office. He looks down on the people he claims he is there to help. He pulled one of my teeth. It will be the last time he ever touches my teeth again. I was very nervous and scared to have a tooth pulled. A friend told me to watch videos of people getting a tooth pulled so I would know what to expect. In the videos all the dentist used a tool and they worked it around and wiggled the tooth free. That was no where near what this barbaric Dr. Abreu did. He pulled straight down on my tooth as hard as he could and my tooth snapped off. He broke it off in half! Then he cut up my gums and the bone was also broken. Worst experience of my life. By comparison I had another tooth pulled a month later by another dentist. Wow what a difference!! He was very gentle and rocked the tooth back and forth and easily removed the tooth and all three roots! No cutting up my gums. No broken tooth! No broken bone! Thank you Dr. Van Gilder! Dr. Abreu should have his dental license revoked! Disgusting man!!
