Stephanie is the best! I found my dream home in Sebastopol with Stephanie's help. She has tremendous knowledge and supported me navigating what became a bit of a challenging close for the seller. She is a delight to work with, professional and fun. She will be my 1st call for any future real estate transactions I engage in. read more

As someone who has been passively looking for a home in the Russian River/Sonoma area for quite some time now, I really appreciate Stephanie's approach. She has struck a very fine balance of being proactive and checking in without being pushy. While the property hunt has been like searching for a needle in a haystack for me, I know that at any given time, if there is a property that piques my interest, Stephanie will respond with the same level of enthusiasm and support, no matter how long it's been since we last connected. I am also a huge fan of the platform she uses to send listings that meet my criteria. It's incredibly convenient and user friendly. I am still hopeful and looking forward to the day where I can find the right property and close it with Stephanie! read more

Working with Stephanie over 15 years(!!!) now as my go to SF realtor has been an absolute gift. Not only have I personally bought and sold multiple homes with her help, but my sister and several of my friends have also had fantastic real estate experiences. Steph truly stands out as an exceptional realtor for sellers and buyers alike in the bay. Strong recommend. read more

When we outgrew our home and were looking for a little more space, we went straight back to Stephanie. She helped us buy a new home in Berkeley and sold our previous home in Glen Park, SF. She is super knowledgeable and managed everything from staging to showing--and negotiated for us with nerves of steel. Three very successful transactions in, and we know who to call for the fourth. Stephanie's experience as an agent shines through at every step and we highly recommend her. read more

Stephanie helped us buy our first home in Noe valley. We had originally been quite anxious about buying during covid, but Stephanie really made it a smooth and stress-free process for us. She was quick to arrange house visits. She showed us different types of homes, and gave us time and opportunities to figure out what's important to us. Visiting houses with her was an educational experience as well. She's knowledgeable about the area. As first-time home buyers, we especially appreciate her insights in various aspects of the houses. e.g. age/material of certain parts, extension potentials, near-term maintenance needed etc. When we were ready to make offers, she patiently walked us through the process & detailed terms of the contract. She stayed in close sync with the listing agents so that we knew where the sellers stood as well. e.g. their timings, other offers/potential offers etc. Thanks to her, we were able to make competitive offers that we were comfortable with. We got accepted on our second offer! She's always ready to help. You can tell she has your interests in mind. She went out of her way and beyond just facilitating the purchase itself. She helped review our insurance documents and called out details that we overlooked, which she really didn't have to do. We couldn't have asked for a better agent! Since this is our first time buying, we wanted someone who knows the area well and can help us navigate the stressful process. Not only were Stephanie great at both, she also delivered so much more. We highly recommend her! read more

Posted this review soon after our sale and we would still highly recommend Stephanie. Considering the changing market conditions in San Francisco, we would trust Stephanie to be several steps ahead of the game and able to pivot when needed. In January 2020 we contacted Stephanie to help us sell our condominium in San Francisco. She worked with us to find contractors to update the 30 year old unit to get it into perfect condition for a sale. We were scheduled to stage on March 17. On March 16, the pandemic shutdown in San Francisco was announced. With Stephanie's professional help we navigated what was a completely new situation for everyone with changing rules and regulations every day. After consultation and debate, it was decided to put the unit on the market anyway regardless of the apparent hurdles and obstacles. It was the right choice and ended well with a sale in less than 45 days. We are very happy and highly recommend Stephanie. read more

Stephanie recently helped me buy a condo in Hayes Valley. She actually helped me through a long ordeal with a new-construction developer that fell through after two years. And afterwards, there were many open houses and new listings, a few starts and stops in the house hunting process, and a couple offers before we finally closed on a place. I can't thank her enough for her patience and guidance through this entire time. The past two years I've been to many open houses and seen a lot of units. I've met a lot of listing agents and it's funny that they all seem to know her when they ask who my agent is. It's comforting to know your agent deals with a lot of volume and has a large network. Stephanie is knowledgeable, professional and hard-working. She's a great agent. Thank you Stephanie for all your help! read more

I cannot recommend Stephanie enough! I have worked with other realtors before, but Stephanie was the one who helped me purchase my first home. From start to finish, she was amazing. - I had first reached out to Stephanie at the recommendation of a family friend. Stephanie adjusted her busy schedule to meet with me in the same week I reached out to her. In our first meeting, she took the time to get to know what I was looking for and then was very active in finding properties that she thought would fit the bill. In fact, the home that I purchased was one of the ones she had recommended! - Since it was my first time purchasing, Stephanie went to great lengths to guide me through the process, taking the time to walk me through all of the paperwork and timelines. Moreover, she is first class in her knowledge of the SF real estate market and has keen negotiation skills, both of which were essential in the process. - When our offer was accepted, Stephanie quickly guided things along to meet the closing deadline. Given it was only a couple of weeks, her organization and advice were indispensable. Furthermore, her support and encouragement throughout the whole process made it such a joy to work with her. Overall, I highly recommend Stephanie and would work with her again! read more

Stephanie is phenomenal. I've worked with a number of agents on both buying and selling homes in the bay area. She is by far the best. Her knowledge of the market is top notch and her strong negotiation skills, great instincts, and practical advice really set her apart. Far apart really. Wish I had found her sooner! read more

Stephanie helped my spouse and I sell two homes in San Francisco. She did an amazing job both times we asked for her help and expertise. Our home selling journey has been successful and exceeded our expectations. The house prep team that Stephanie works with is professional, does an amazing job and adheres to the schedule for sale prep. Stephanie alleviated the stress of moving and selling real estate due to her being positive, professional and super prepared for any situation. Dawn and I highly recommend her to anyone that wants to have a great real estate agent that is your advocate and guide. read more

Professional, highly organized, reliable. Stephanie was our agent for selling our first home in Bernal Heights. When interviewing agents, we liked how structured, process-driven, and trustworthy she was. She was always quick to respond to email and text. She also did a great job with marketing and staging; the videos and pictures made us proud! Perhaps most importantly, she brought a unique idea to the table about how future buyers could add a bathroom in an underutilized space, which no one else had thought of. We had a 14 day close that was executed perfectly. Highly recommend Stephanie! read more

Forget whoever you've worked with in the past, because Stephanie should be your next agent. Earlier this year, she helped us sell our house in the midst of a worldwide pandemic -- in three weeks. From listing to sale. And for more than we had optimistically hoped to get.  But let's start from the beginning. We have now worked with Stephanie twice -- once to buy our house and then to sell that same house years later. When we decided to sell, Stephanie was our first call, without hesitation. She came super prepared for the first meeting and gave us a thorough overview of market conditions for properties like ours, an idea for what we needed to get done prior to listing and first open house, and the expected timeline for everything. She laid out the marketing plan, was super sincere, and set reasonable expectations (spoiler alert: she underpromised and over-delivered). What makes a strong agent is this: experience and track record, someone you can trust to have your best interest at heart, and someone who is highly adept at marketing your place and negotiating on your behalf.  Stephanie has all that... in spades! But what makes Stephanie exceptional is that she is extremely savvy about the ins and outs of the market, and she has great intuition. It's not just about what the comp reports say, it's about the layers beneath the data. We had multiple offers (and all looked great on paper), but Stephanie helped decipher each of those offers for us and steered us toward the most solid offer -- one that had the least risk of falling through if things got hairy given the world was already falling apart. This is where experience is relevant but intuition is supercritical.  She has worked with many, many agents as counter-parties and knew which agents are the most adept at keeping the deal together if buyers and/or lenders got cold feet. This is something that doesn't show on paper but was invaluable to us.  Post-offer, she hustled like heck on our behalf and got the sale closed in incredible time. We wouldn't hesitate for a second to work with Stephanie again. read more

As a first time home seller I was totally reliant on Stephenie to guide us through the complicated process. She took me through every step and gave me an idea of what to expect. I was immediately impressed by her collateral and her easygoing nature. When there were questions or snafus, Stephanie was responsive and cool-headed. She came to my rescue when my HOA was being unhelpful in regards to a situation that might have resulted in a substantial delay in putting my place in the market. She outlined options and explained the pros and cons. After all was said and done, I believe her advice helped us achieve the results we had hoped for overall. I also felt confident that she was our ally and advocate firing the entire time. I would recommend her with a high degree of enthusiasm. I went with Compass due to noticing their signs everywhere in SF. It was by chance that I partnered with Stephanie and of course, so glad that I did. read more

Stephanie is excellent at this job and a pleasure to work with. We came to her with a fantasy of finding an off-market, un-renovated single-family fixer (but a fixer that was livable with only minor work!) on Potrero Hill for a reasonable (for San Francisco) price. We were pretty sure this wasn't going to happen, but Stephanie made it so within a few weeks of us staring to look seriously. On the mechanics of the transaction, Stephanie was also tops: she knows the purchase contract cold, knows how much strategic value is in each contingency, and presses every point of leverage without alienating the counterparty. Stephanie guided us through a fairly complicated purchase (after signing, the sellers decided that they wanted a higher price and threatened to pull out of the deal during escrow), kept everything working smoothly, and calmed us down when we needed it. Her deep bench of contacts---she knows everyone from bankers to plumbing inspectors---was also invaluable in getting everything lined up. We recommend her as strongly as we can to all our friends, and think you'll be happy to work with her, too. read more

My husband and I cannot praise Stephanie enough. She guided us through selling our house during the Covid-19 outbreak. She managed our nervousness and our expectations about going on the market. Stephanie always had a well thought through strategy. She gave us very clear advice and it worked! We sold our house within 9 days of going on the market over the price we hoped to get. She returned calls and followed up on any questions we had. We were very satisfied with the process and end results. read more

I interviewed several listing agents and from the very beginning, It was obvious that Stephanie was the best choice. She came in prepared with information that no one else took the time to give to me. Stephanie personally helped me find the right professionals to pack and store my personal items. She made outstanding recommendations for renovations that helped me get top dollar. She personally oversaw the staging and lighting choices. She knew exactly the right professional for every step of the process. I was out of town and some times out of the country during much of the preparation and sale of the property. Stephanie took care of everything. She was also very knowledgeable regarding how to price the property. I am very happy with her services. read more

Stephanie was a fantastic advisor to us as first-time home buyers in the Bay Area. From start to close, Stephanie was invested in us and attuned to what we were looking for. A couple of things really stood out. Firstly, we really appreciated Stephanie's level of diligence and attention to detail, from the walkthroughs to reviewing the disclosures and offer letters. Secondly, Stephanie was incredibly flexible as we pivoted between neighborhoods and jumped on opportunities at the last minute. She was always there when we needed and kept us sane in this bonkers market. Thank you for all your support in helping us become first-time homeowners! read more

Stephanie Johnson did a fantastic job selling our San Francisco loft. She handled the entire process, start to finish and was incredibly knowledgeable and professional. Our condo needed some major TLC before we could put it on the market and Stephanie managed every step of the process. We needed all new paint, new carpet, various plumbing and heating fixes, professional window washing and new base boards. All we had to do was hand her a pair of keys to the condo and she took care of everything else. She coordinated with vendors, got us multiple estimates and supervised the work. When it came time to sell, after just one open-house we had multiple offers, well over asking and we closed the deal in less than a month. It was such a great and easy experience I wish we had more properties Stephanie could sell for us. She's a true professional. My only regret is that we weren't able to use the beautiful marketing packages she put together for us because the unit sold so quickly. I did, however, keep a few marketing flyers for myself, just to remember the good times. We would work with Stephanie again in a heartbeat. read more

Stephanie was all that we could have hoped for in a realtor and more - we are so lucky that we found her. She is well-connected in the San Francisco market and has a deep understanding of what it takes to close a deal. My husband and I were first-time homebuyers, and she helped us navigate a myriad of issues that came up in our home-buying process with thoughtfulness and skill. She was extremely patient with us and there to answer every one of the numerous questions that we had during the process, and is kind enough to still answer our questions all things home-related even after closing! We highly recommend Stephanie! read more

Stephanie came highly recommended to us through a friend and we were immediately impressed with her knowledge of the city. Looking for a home in SF is daunting, stressful, and just insane (to say the least) but Stephanie's help during each step of the process made it immeasurably easier. She helped us explore neighborhoods, was always available to accompany us on tours of listings, answered all of our questions, and helped strategize when we were finally ready to bid. We happened to be out of town when a house popped up on the market but on short notice she quickly set up a private viewing of the house at 7pm on a Monday. We went straight from the airport to the house and wrote up a bid that night. She stayed with us until 10pm that night and patiently walked us through every step. We still can't believe we were fortunate enough to buy a house in San Francisco but we owe much of it to Stephanie's help. The best part is that she's continued to help us even after our purchase with anything that we've needed, from her rolodex of contractor referrals to lending her thoughts to possible remodel options. I would not hesitate to recommend Stephanie to anyone looking to buy in the city! read more

I had the pleasure of working with Stephanie and her realtor assistant, Inna, on a 1031 exchange. Stephanie is incredibly knowledgeable about San Francisco at large, and she made sure the right home was a good fit for me. I regularly received email updates from her on potential properties and she made herself available to show them to me. If she wasn't available, Inna, was able to find time in a pinch on several occasions. What I really like about Stephanie is her responsiveness: she emails, texts, and calls within a few hours. If you've gone through the stresses and time constraints of a 1031 exchange, having an honest, calm, and competent realtor makes all the difference. I highly recommend Stephanie and she will ensure you are satisfied throughout the process. read more

I've bought and sold several houses with many different realtors. Stephanie is by far, the best one I have worked with - helping me find a house in SF in this crazy real estate market. Realtors don't have the best reputation as a profession -- the stereotypical realtor is pushy, just looking for the next sale, short term oriented, doing the minimum necessary to get the deal, pushing you to try and buy the most expensive property available blah blah blah. Stephanie is nothing like this. From the first time I met with her, she took pains to understand exactly what I was looking for and why. I have a very busy schedule and Stephanie always adjusted her schedule to accomodate mine. Her customer service skills are exceptional. She does her homework and actually provides insight, rather than just regurgitate things that are in the MLS or Zillow/Trulia/Realtor listing. Since she has worked in the city for several years she has seen properties come and go on the market and has an exceptional memory for other houses. While comps only tell part of the story, Stephanie can provide more background on the house such as"oh that had a really funky layout, so that price reflected it. It's not a good comp" etc. That helped me prepare much better offers. Unlike many agents, she also has a good eye for renovations/design which helps you to see the possibilities of homes that on the face of it look less than ideal. Further, she has a good reputation and strong relationships with other agents. This helps a great deal in negotiation, particularly in competitive bidding situations. As other reviewers have noted, she has a full rolodex of service providers and can find people home inspectors, contractors, structural engineers and more at a moments notice. I can't say enough good things about her. I recommend her very strongly. Next time I'm buying or selling a house, I'll work with her again. read more

Stephanie came highly recommended from one of my closest friends which was already a huge win. Honestly my husband and I could not be more pleased with the fact that she found us the perfect home in San Francisco. We all know that in this market it's really hard to find a home that has everything one is looking for, and she found it for us and even came under what we were expecting to pay, nothing short of a miracle. She simply took the fear and uncertainty out of the fact that we were first time buyers. Stephanie only wants what's best for her clients, she's not looking for a one time transaction and is the type of realtor that has her clients come back and use her again several years down the line when they are selling off their property. She is very well connected and a truly wonderful person to work with, she also has a list of the best mortgage brokers, contractors, electricians, inspectors and movers. Speaking of the movers even they were praising Stephanie and saying if you want your house sold you have Stephanie take care of it. Honestly there's nothing she wasn't thorough or prompt about. We are now enjoying our 6th month in our new home and couldn't be happier! read more

Stephanie is a fantastic agent! As a first time buyer I didn't know what to expect when we first started looking at houses, maybe I expected the agent to be more like a pushy salesperson, but Stephanie was anything but! She was very patient and personable. She was helpful every step of the way and we always felt like we had an ally in her. read more

We worked with Stephanie to purchase our first condo in Noe Valley. We had a wonderful experience and couldn't recommend her highly enough. A few things in particular that we really appreciated about Stephanie: * She answered all our emails in a very timely fashion. * Stephanie promptly visited all the properties we expressed interest in during open houses and broker tours, and she worked with our schedules to take us to weekday showings of properties when we couldn't make the weekend open houses. * Stephanie's knowledge of the real estate buying process and her attention to detail are invaluable. She read through the disclosure packets and closing documents very carefully, and she proactively obtained more information when required. She often noticed things that we would have missed. * We were so impressed by the speed with which Stephanie was able to schedule pest inspections and consultations with structural engineers. She was regularly able to work magic to line up inspectors to visit properties within a few days after we decided to make an offer. * Stephanie respected our opinions and preferences and facilitated a productive housing search. We came into the buying process with a strong understanding of our preferences and needs. Stephanie was able to take those ideas and run with them, helping us to efficiently execute our house search without compromising our requirements. In addition to all of these concrete things, it was wonderful working with Stephanie because she is a really pleasant person. She is highly competent, knowledgeable of the market, and friendly. We have found our home with Stephanie's help, and we highly recommend her to anyone looking for a great agent. read more

Stephanie Johnson was an amazing partner, facilitator, advisor and negotiator when we were buying our home. We were trying to buy in a very specific area so we could be near our daughter's new high school, and we were trying to close during the summer in a pretty short window so we could be in the house before school started. Stephanie took the time to understand our priorities, the neighborhoods we preferred and what we were willing to trade off when purchasing. She assessed the market very accurately and was able to give us excellent comps for each property we considered. She helped us see beyond the surface of each home as well, pointing out what she could see in the structural support, foundation, electrical and interior details completed with and without permits. She could give us a first assessment of many property aspects so we could determine whether it was worth bringing a general contractor to advise us further. She knows the SF real estate market incredibly well, but she also has taken the time to establish relationships with other realtors. Her intelligence and ease with people really showed every step of the way, and in the end those relationships proved very helpful in understanding the timing of offers and even getting an opportunity to counter offer when another bid was coming in ahead of us. She guided us through several offers, helping us to understand what she thought it would take to be competitive but not pushing us past a number we felt good about. She was patient and continued to give us excellent guidance throughout these failed attempts, even when she wrote offers she knew were not going to win. This helped us get comfortable with the market, since as we all know it often takes losing a few that you like before you go as far as you can when the one that you love comes along. When the one that we loved came, it was purely through Stephanie's understanding of us as clients and her business relationships, since we had an opportunity to see the property before its first open house because she knew the realtor and had scouted it for us. She guided us flawlessly, and we are now in our forever home in the perfect neighborhood! I just cannot recommend her enough. She is a pleasure to work with every step of the way, and her thoughtfulness and commitment to her clients is indefatigable. read more

Stephanie has been my real estate agent since 2012 and I couldn't think of working with anyone else when it comes to buying or selling a home. I would highly recommend Stephanie Johnson- I've bought and sold three properties in the bay area in the last ten years and she stands heads and shoulders above anyone I've ever worked with. * Knowledgeable & intelligent. Stephanie knows the city, its neighborhoods, its streets and its properties. Frankly, for some reason, real estate is an industry that does not attract the best and the brightest and Stephanie stands out because of her intelligence. She's articulate, intuitive, understands the finance piece and sees the long term big picture. * Service oriented. She did a great job handling a very complicated transaction for me - including multiple bidding, a non-negotiable and very tight window to close, an international power of attorney and a lien on the deed. Further, she kept me true to my goals and was constantly reminding me of my priorities so that I didn't let my emotions get in the way. * Technically adept. For some reason, the real estate industry seems to lag behind just about every other industry in its technical advances. Stephanie works hard to overcome the limits of the industry - she was constantly available to me via email, phone and sms and she set up electronic signature so that I could sign documents from my blackberry while on vacation. I am happy to give a personal referral on the telephone. Please email me and we can set up a time to talk. Anna read more

Stephanie handled the sale of my partner's home. The experience was amazing. Stephanie offered professional services, a clear plan and a timeline that was quick and painless. The adage of the knowing a person by their friends is a bit different for a real estate agent; you know them by the support relationships they build. Stephanie had a cadre of high quality painters, stagers, and flooring specialists that took her vision and transformed a "nice" house into an amazing house. Stephanie kept us informed and, since we are anxious people, her positive and friendly demeanor calmed us and made this an enjoyable and successful experience. Stephanie is amazing! read more

Stephanie was fantastic. From our first meeting we could tell she was very sharp and knowledgeable about market conditions, financing options, neighborhoods, and much more. She showed us lots of nice places and asked the right questions to help us work out what we were looking for. When she finally found a place that was just right for us, she set up a private viewing for us the next day and helped us move quickly to make an offer on it, walking us through all the documents very clearly and thoroughly. Stephanie's savviness also saved us a nice chunk of money at the last minute: just before we sent our offer to the sellers, she learned that another potential buyer had dropped out. She called us and suggested that we reduce our bid before submitting it, which we did. Even months after we closed on the house and paid her commission, Stephanie was still helping us. She served as a liaison between us and the sellers during a three-month rentback, checked on the place after they moved out, and even arranged for some repairs that needed to be done. In addition to all this, she was very friendly, patient, and positive with us throughout the process: a true pleasure to work with. read more

Stephanie was recommended to us by our lovely former real estate agent (who had moved away). We ended up selling to a neighbor without an agent before we listed, but we did the full work up with Stephanie before that happened. Was super impressed. Her comps were thoughtful and thorough, she clearly was at the top of her game in the SF agent community (so lots of access to other agents with buyers and sellers), and I just found her really likeable. These also happen to be the three factors I recommend anyone looking for an agent consider ;) read more

Stephanie was just amazing. On very short notice, my partner and I decided to sell my house. After interviewing 3 realtors, we chose Stephanie - we appreciated her honesty about the process, her attention to detail, and her vision/strategy about the sale. She completely surpassed all of our expectations. She made suggestions about what needed to be done to improve the presentation of the house and then brought in people at reasonable prices to make it all happen. All throughout this period, she gave helpful suggestions and kept us well informed about what was happening. She paid attention to the small things that can really make a difference without losing sight of the big picture. Within 2 weeks, she had the house ready for sale. One week later, we had an offer that far exceeded anything I thought the house could sell for, even in this crazy housing market. Stephanie made the process simple and straightforward. All throughout, she left both my partner and I feeling confident that she would get the job done easily. And she did. read more

Stephanie was recommended to us by friends and she does not disappoint. Buying a house in 2013 was not an easy prospect, whether you had our very specific neighborhood requirements or not. My husband and I truly enjoyed working with Stephanie to both purchase and sell our home. We originally met Stephanie at an open house in San Francisco. Unlike many realtors we had met, that day Stephanie was not pushy or overbearing - a quality we wanted in the person we would trust to eventually show our home in it's best light. Throughout the process of buying and selling a home, Stephanie was patient with our questions, never patronizing as she provided prudent answers to our concerns. When it came to negotiating the sale of our home, we always felt that Stephanie had our best interest in mind, never pressured us into something we were uncomfortable with, yet provided expert guidance in this difficult decision. We have already recommended Stephanie to friends of ours who are considering purchasing a home. read more

We were first time home buyers in a country foreign to both my husband and I. Stephanie was just the trusted advisor we needed. From our very first meeting, where she patiently educated us on the various neighborhoods of San Francisco, to identifying interesting properties for us each weekend, Stephanie was prompt without making us feel rushed. She was thoughtful, attentive, responsive and took the labouring oar to find us our perfect home with minimal sweat and fuss on our part :). We felt comfortable discussing finances with her and sought her advice on issues that first time home owners likely find challenging. She patiently answered our umpteen questions, represented us assertively against unyielding seller(s) and eventually got us a deal we love. The fact that as first time home owners we did not feel exhausted by the end of it all, speaks volumes for how seamless Stephanie made it for us. Even after we closed the deal, Stephanie was kind enough to follow up and see if she could help us with the logistics of our move-in (help book time slots with our building management etc). That level of thoughtfulness and professionalism is compelling. We look forward to working with Stephanie in the future and will be happy to provide recommendations in person, if needed (She has our phone number). read more
