My 3 year old really likes it thus far. We just started at the beginning of this year so I will…read morecontinue to monitor his progress. My concern is that this location seems to be getting more crowded by the week. I want to ensure my 3 year old is getting enough one-on-one with an instructor. Two kids to one instructor seems fair and manageable but more than that doesn't seem effective. I hope Greta will manage the ratio of kids/instructors available because I'm growing more concerned about it. Tuition isn't cheap, especially in this climate, so I'd like to know that I'm paying for more than just those booklets. As I stated earlier, my son seems to be really enjoying it so I will continue to monitor progress and hope to give this place 5 stars after we've spent more time here. Also, the parking situation is definitely a headache.

My son has been attending Kumon for both Math and Reading programs for over 7 months now, the…read moreresults are surprisingly good! Academically, he is very comfortable with math problems now, and loves to read on his own. With Kumon work, he's math and reading levels are above other classmates'. In terms of self discipline, he is used to doing the homework everyday on his own and tries his best to avoid any unintentional mistake. I am a proud mom! The Kumon el cerrito and Pinole instructor Greta has been so patient and kind to all the children and the parents. She knows everyone's name and level, and is very involved in the progress of every student. Hats off! and what a kindhearted person to be around. To those who are still thinking about joining, I would say, Kumon (like any other program) is not a promise to the success. However it is a great opportunity for the kids to create the healthy habit of studying and to boost their self esteem, and a reliable way for the parents to help our kids to make the most of their potentials. Your effort will be paid off!

My husband and I enrolled…read morehim because I used to work for PMP back in 2009 (covered Lafayette and Danville locations) and I passed their certification. I'm familiar with their curriculum and teaching style so I became a proponent of their establishment and mission statement. You'll find other places trying to emulate their curriculum but because their curriculum is trademarked, nothing compares. Also, Ross and Brian are both OTs, so they're very knowledgeable in anatomy and physiology -- meaning, they understand the human body and its mechanisms. My son is now a Sponge and I see significant improvements with his fine and gross motor skills including but not limited to handwriting and cutting. He is ergonomically holding pens/pencils and scissors properly. Also he's got excellent trunk control --way better than mine! I highly recommend PMP. So worth every penny. Jordan loves attending his class and he said he looks forward to being promoted to a Builder and then a Heavylifter one day!!

After just one class, I can see a significant change in his confidence. He writes his name and other letters on his own with no tears, and enjoys showing us how creative he is with his drawings. The staff really works with my rotating work schedule, and also work specially with my child's needs. The ticket system is gold!

Shohreh is a true miracle worker! I never in my life thought a foreign language class was something…read morethat I could do until I found French Farsi Without Tears. When I first arrived I was expecting textbooks, work sheets, and a long list of words to memorize - however this was far from the case. What I found was a small, friendly, and inviting group of classmates that together, through many small conversations and lessons, began to pick up Farsi. From practice scenarios, eating great Persian food, and talking with classmates I got the true immersion experience! While the curriculum is not very dry, stressful, or overly intensive, I was surprised by how fast everything went. After just the first class I was reading, writing, and even doing some speaking! Before I knew it, I felt like I was having full conversations in Farsi without even thinking about it and it felt so natural. Looking forward to continuing my Farsi learning experience in Shohreh's advance classes!

Shohreh is one of the best teachers I have had in my entire (not just adult) life. Her enthusiasm…read moretowards teaching creates such a friendly and positive environment toward learning Farsi. She does so well with making sure you absorb all of the lessons in a thorough yet gentle fashion. The class' approach to the technical side of the language is very good and what you need to build a foundation. But what made the class so interesting is Shohreh's insights into Persian culture and history during lessons which will in turn teach you the artistic side of the language. Teaching both makes me feel like I have not just learned, but I understand, the language. Also as a non-Persian learning for fun because my wife speaks Farsi and is Persian, the class has provided insights into her and her family I greatly appreciate and would not have gotten out of an app. My recommendation could not be higher for Shohreh and her program.
