While I am familiar with, and routinely receive deep tissue massage from other therapists and centers, Santina's technique catered to my comfort level in a way I have never experienced. The Ashiatsu massage was my first, and it did not disappoint. The therapeutic aspects were very evident in the following days through the diminished chronic pain level associated with past injuries. I highly recommend Body Focus as it has warm, inviting and very relaxing atmosphere. Santina's expertise and professionalism was evident in every aspect of Body Focus. Jim R

Her massage studio is housed in a cute rehabbed red train caboose located in the quaint Cromwell historic district. Talk about charm! Easy access to her place from both 91 or Route 9. Literally minutes from Middletown, Portland, Rocky Hill, Wethersfield, and Glastonbury. Plenty of parking and easy accessibility with stairs and a ramp from the parking lot. Santina is proficient in many styles of massage that you won't find at your run-of-the-mill massage places. Not only will this be the best massage you can get but the owner is probably one of the most genuinely nice people you will meet. She cares deeply about each client, pays attention to the small details, and is always super pleasant and professional. If you're a believer like me that only people with good positive karma/energy should be in your personal space, Santina is who you want in your corner. A++++ all the way around.

He offered to play any music i wanted, but i had no preference and his playlist was great. The room was warm, comfortable and inviting. He used a heated pad on the table which i loved - it made it so much easier to relax. Let's talk about how he found huge knots in my back and when he worked them out - one of his actions caused the top of my foot to flash with a tingle - it's like the sciatic nerve opened up for traffic! I was concerned about stress in my neck and shoulders but as he was conducting the session he advised that my thigh muscles and the tendon on top were very stressed and screaming - so i yielded to his suggestion to work those more than the neck. O.M.G. - My thighs were like "WHAT IS THIS?!!" I am a big guy so my legs have to support this large frame and weight when walking or standing. I just accepted the pains in my body as normal - but through the treatment i could feel my body telling me - hey this is what you should really be feeling! Damien finished by working my feet - something I don't usually allow because i have a thing about people touching my feet - but oh he did this stretch on them that stretched the tendons on the sides of my legs and felt it in my lower back. AH-MAZING! I can't wait to go back for another session. Damien is professional, knowledgeable, personable, and he loves what he does - it shows through his work.

I hate to have to write this review as i have been a health and wellness customer of many…read moreestablishments over the years and tried earnestly to communicate with the staff att Soma to give feedback who became defensive and unpleasant. I booked a massage online using their system and received a confirmation of my booking after I placed my credit card. When I arrived (40 minute drive from my home), there was no available therapist. I was told that the spa was changing online booking systems and that they were sorry and that the therapist was probably sick. They did try to call to find someone last minute and offered me a 50% discount on my next massage which was very generous. So, I tried again to book a service the next day, received a confirmation and decided to call the number online to double confirm so as not to end up in the same situation. I did so 2 days in a row and even sent a text via a chatbot and never heard back. I decided to try calling the chatbot number and someone answered. She confirmed my appointment and then proceeded to ask me if I would be willing to change my service booking since the therapist usually doesn't like doing multiple services if they take 3 hours. I asked if the therapists communicate their preferences so that customers can't book something which cannot be performed. The receptionist started to get defensive and asked if I knew that 3 hours was a long time to book services for. I then asked her if I could give her some constructive feedback: that I found it very difficult to communicate with Soma and effectively book services-something I've done online hundreds of times over the years with different businesses. Surprisingly, she felt the need to announce that she would cancel my appointment and tried to hang up on me. I was able to get her to hear me in my request that my feedback simply be fed up to the management, but I experienced her as persistent in her "not my problem or responsibility" message. I told her that as a receptionist, she is the outward face of her company even if she isn't the owner or therapist. Overall an incredibly unprofessional experience. I will not return and will warn friends against Soma. There are so many wonderful businesses with excellent customer service in the area which I would encourage people to patron.
