I hate to have to write this review as i have been a health and wellness customer of many establishments over the years and tried earnestly to communicate with the staff att Soma to give feedback who became defensive and unpleasant. I booked a massage online using their system and received a confirmation of my booking after I placed my credit card. When I arrived (40 minute drive from my home), there was no available therapist. I was told that the spa was changing online booking systems and that they were sorry and that the therapist was probably sick. They did try to call to find someone last minute and offered me a 50% discount on my next massage which was very generous. So, I tried again to book a service the next day, received a confirmation and decided to call the number online to double confirm so as not to end up in the same situation. I did so 2 days in a row and even sent a text via a chatbot and never heard back. I decided to try calling the chatbot number and someone answered. She confirmed my appointment and then proceeded to ask me if I would be willing to change my service booking since the therapist usually doesn't like doing multiple services if they take 3 hours. I asked if the therapists communicate their preferences so that customers can't book something which cannot be performed. The receptionist started to get defensive and asked if I knew that 3 hours was a long time to book services for. I then asked her if I could give her some constructive feedback: that I found it very difficult to communicate with Soma and effectively book services-something I've done online hundreds of times over the years with different businesses. Surprisingly, she felt the need to announce that she would cancel my appointment and tried to hang up on me. I was able to get her to hear me in my request that my feedback simply be fed up to the management, but I experienced her as persistent in her "not my problem or responsibility" message. I told her that as a receptionist, she is the outward face of her company even if she isn't the owner or therapist. Overall an incredibly unprofessional experience. I will not return and will warn friends against Soma. There are so many wonderful businesses with excellent customer service in the area which I would encourage people to patron. read more

Danielle is a great massage therapist. She knows exactly how to relieve tense muscle.

Woke up around 4 A.M. with neck and shoulder pain. I tried to sleep it off, but it just got worse so I got our of bed at 6:30 A.M. and looked online at omsoma.com hoping that Danielle had an appointment available today. To my luck and surprise she did. Even better she suggested this summer special massage. Anyone who knows me knows I love everything that is included in this massage. First off it is 75 minutes vs 60 minutes (one hour is never enough is it?), it is done with coconut oil (smells so good and is so good for your skin), then a warm compress steeped in essential oils is applied to area after it is massaged (the aromatherapy fills the senses is heavenly), followed by a cool compress steeped in cucumber water (ahhh, bliss in this humidity). Aaaannddd it's $15 off for a limited time...wwhhaaattt?! Happy early birthday to me. What neck and shoulder pain? Gone! With each minute of this massage I was saying thank you in my mind over and over again. I've been going to Danielle long before I was even married, and loves what she does for a living and it shows. Over the past two decades she's been there to help me simply feel pampered and relaxed, as well as helped me times in my life that I've been in excruciating pain and couldn't lift my arm or my head. She's fixed me each and every time. I've also experienced massages from others at Soma and I have never been disappointed. If Danielle isn't available, I know I'm in good hands with others at Soma. Hope they keep this massage available for the winter, and they can just omit the cool cucumber water compress (though I personally would love that year round too!). Even if they don't and this is just a dinner offering, no worries. Go for a 75 minute deep tissue massage or a hot stone massage or whatever sounds good to you from Soma's offerings. read more

Soma Spa is wonderful! They did such an amazing job accommodating my friends and I for a Bachelorette party spa day. We had our own private room and they provided champagne and delicious snacks. They went above and beyond to make this happen at the last minute. Everyone enjoyed their massages, body scrub and facials. They listened to what we each wanted and were very friendly and professional. It was such a great experience! read more

Just came back from an hour long Swedish massage with Megan. I had pulled a muscle a few a days ago and it was really bothering me. After my massage the pain is almost gone! I've been a client of Soma Wellness Center for over 7 years and can honestly say that their massage therapy has helped me tremendously with my health issues. Danielle is my primary therapist, but I've also used Meghan for massage, and they are both caring, wonderful people and excellent massage therapists. Opt for an at home facial and save your money. This spa is located in a high traffic area and you can hear the traffic and horns honking outside while you're trying to relax. The person who gave me my facial did not appear like she wanted to be there, made no attempt to have conversation of any kind about the facial, about the products being used, and answered any questions about the facial and products in one word. Not very friendly. I never knew what she would be doing next. There is a sink next to the massage table and each time she had to rinse something you'd get a loud sound of running water, which was not very relaxing. The towels used to take products off my face were scalding. When she was done I still had green speckles of a masque she used on my face. After she completed the facial no moisture was re-applied to the skin. My skin looked worse than when I went into the "spa" it was dry and masque speckled. If you want to hear heavy traffic or bursts of fast running water by your head, interact with an unfriendly drone who had a we don't need your business attitude, have your skin dried out by scalding hot towels, and left looking with dry looking skin with product still on it, by all means go here. If you want a facial by a friendly skilled professional go to Art of Touch in Newington. This was the worst facial I've ever had by the most unprofessional staff. read more
