We need a sitter from time to time during the day, I the agency I used in the past no longer…read moreprovides this kind of service. I was looking for a new agency and I found Peak Sitters. It works a bit different than my previous experience; I pay directly to the sitter and I pay separately for Peak Sitters for the placement each time. I think it is a more flexible arrangement, but some may not like it. Over all, I am very happy so far after two weeks. All my requests were fulfilled and the most important thing is that the sitter that came was very good.

My experience was specifically with River City Sitters LLC in Virginia, which is run by Suzanne. I…read morehave since verified that Peak City is run by Kim, but the businesses are partnered. And that partnership matters. You cannot publicly operate as sister companies or business partners when the relationship benefits you, then suddenly act completely separate when a customer has a serious problem with one side. If you choose to attach your business name, reputation, and services to another company through a partnership, there should be accountability attached to that relationship too. Different owners or managers handling different locations does not make the partnership meaningless. My transaction may have been with River City Sitters LLC, but when these businesses choose to partner together, I believe problems involving one side reflect on the partnership as a whole. You do not get the benefits of being connected while expecting customers to pretend there is no connection when something goes wrong. I paid River City Sitters placement fees and no sitter was provided. More importantly, nobody contacted me to tell me they were unable to find a sitter. I had to chase them down myself. Their voicemail states that someone will return your call, but I never received that return call. I also have documentation showing that I called and left a voicemail despite later being told that no voicemail was received. Their website accepts short-notice placement requests and charges a fee for them. Yet the short notice was later used as part of the explanation for why my request wasn't fulfilled. If you advertise the option, accept the request, and take someone's money, the customer should at minimum receive communication when you cannot fulfill it. The difference between the two operations is also striking. Peak City has a much more active presence and a detailed, updated website. River City Sitters LLC felt like a ghost business by comparison. I found very little independent customer or employee feedback, communication was extremely difficult, and after paying, I received neither a sitter nor proactive notice that one could not be found. To be clear, I am not claiming Kim personally handled my transaction. Suzanne handled the Virginia side. My point is that this is a partnership. If Peak City is willing to maintain a business partnership with River City Sitters LLC, then there should also be some responsibility for the standards associated with that partnership. Otherwise, what exactly does being "partners" mean? I ultimately disputed the charges with my bank. Based on my experience, I would recommend researching River City Sitters LLC and the businesses it partners with before paying any placement fees.

Courtney's is hands down the best daycare/drop-in care center we've been to. No matter where you…read morelook, everything about Courtney's is a 10/10! Everyone here values safety above all else. There is a secure door upon entry into the daycare, and inside the daycare, there is a child-proof gate as well. The staff here also do an excellent job cleaning and I am always impressed by how they can manage to keep the daycare so clean even when there are so many kids running around and doing so many activities! My 2-year-old daughter never came home with clothes soaked in food and that's because they are also careful about not getting food everywhere during mealtimes. Courtney's was already super clean before COVID, and after COVID, I must say I was even more impressed with their level of sanitation and cleanliness. They use EPA-grade, child-friendly sanitation that can put any parents' mind at ease. The hours and rates here are also what set this daycare apart from any other. I was a law student while I used Courtney's for my daughter, and the hours and rates were so convenient. My studies/classes usually last well into the evening and I usually have mornings off, so the timing worked so well here with Courtney's being open until 8 pm on weekdays and 10 pm on Fridays and Saturdays. The hours were also perfect for much-needed date nights with my partner! There are a wealth of toys and games for children of all ages, and it was seriously my daughter's favorite place to go! Every morning she would get super excited because she knew she was going to her little mini-Disneyland. The staff here don't just encourage passive play--during Mother's Day week, she came home with a new painting for mom each day and I was so touched at the level of detail and attention the staff here gives to each child! Last but certainly not least, the staff and owner here are the absolutely most caring, kind, and sweetest people I have ever met. Heather, Kaneisha, Kayla, Angela (and more) care about each and every one of their families and this was really important to us especially since this is not true of many other daycares. The fact that I haven't seen any staff turnover during the 1.5 years we were at Courtney's is a true testament to their caring and family-like staff. I refer all of my colleagues and friends at the law school with children to check out Courtney's because we know they will not be disappointed. We will miss everyone at Courtney's so much now that we moved out of state and I highly recommend any family who is looking for high quality and superb care for their children to check out Courtney's!

I put him in daycare so that he could socialize with kids his own age. I was so...scared , as are most new moms I feel sure, when I had to make this transition. I don't think I could ever express my love and gratitude for the CHILDTIME "family" and Tracy who is the center director along with the assistant director, Amanda. They not only literally embraced my child --who in the first few months went from crying and clinging to his father and I --to getting up in the morning and going to our front door telling us he was ready for "cool" which meant school!! To know what quality care he was receiving was half of my piece of mind, the other half was knowing he was loved and had so much love for Mrs. Tracy and his wonderful teachers! I tell everyone how happy we continue to be there. A few weeks ago we transitioned to the two year old class. Again, they never cease to bring a smile to my face ! I received photos of him using a "big boy potty" at school. Amazing ! Hopefully I will be able to accomplish this at home one day too! Words cannot express how grateful we are for the time, care, attention, understanding, and…read moreincredible effort that My Girl Friday dedicated to our family. As pandemic -- and first-time -- parents, we reached a breaking point where we struggled to function as humans. We just couldn't sustain full-time work and childcare at the same time, but we also weren't ready to go the daycare route during the height of the pandemic. We found My Girl Friday when we realized that we wouldn't be able to take on the arduous task of finding a quality and well-suited caregiver ourselves. We'd seen friends try and go it alone, but after dozens of interviews, red flags, compensations, and their back up against the wall with timing, their benchmark for success became "good enough" vs. their initial intent of finding someone who aligned really well with their parenting style. We wanted to do things differently but knew that without the time or brain space, we needed serious help. After a few initial calls with My Girl Friday, they were hard at work to find us a fit who met our safety, development, and overall parenting style requirements. The process of reviewing and interviewing candidates was smooth. When you have no ding-dang idea what you're doing, the continued guidance, support, and recommendations from the My Girl Friday team are invaluable. One day, we received word that a newly applied caregiver entered their system who was a perfect candidate for our position. Knowing how hard we struggled to balance life, they emphatically pushed them through their interview, onboarding, and background check process to help us meet immediately. They were such a good fit that they quickly progressed from candidate to employee to family. While we waited for them to finish up their then-current position, My Girl Friday also worked hard to apply the same effort and care in finding us a short-term nanny to help with the gap in coverage. We can't imagine life without either of them. There's absolutely no way we could have quickly, reliably, and successfully found someone more perfectly fit for our family -- let alone two! -- in such a swift amount of time. For My Girl Friday to know and attract such high-quality, kind-hearted, warm-spirited, and well-suited candidates speaks volumes about their devotion and commitment to their business and clients. It may sound hyperbolic, but My Girl Friday saved our lives and sanity. We didn't know what to do, but they certainly did. We are forever grateful.
