While waiting for our house to be built we lived with my wife's parents in Aurora. Since we no longer had a house I called to cancel our homeowner's insurance and Harvey talked me into a renters policy because he said all of our belongings would be covered no matter where they were in the world. We had 99% of our belongings in storage and the rest with us at my wife's parents house. After we closed on our house we went to move our belongings from storage to the house and discovered everything had been destroyed by water and subsequent mold. I filed a claim because there was a clause in the policy that stated if a structure was damaged by a storm (wind, hail etc) and water was then forced into the structure damaging property it would be covered. After numerous emails and phone calls, Harvey and Allstate refused to cover any part of our loss. Imagine being at your lowest point ever, everything you have ever owned destroyed and to basically have your insurance company spit in your face, my family and I were devastated. At the time we had a 2.5-year-old a 1.5-year-old and my wife was pregnant with our third, and we basically had nothing. This is the reason people hate insurance companies they should help you in your darkest hour and they did nothing. Harvey Goodwin and Allstate has some funny entertaining commercials but makes no mistake they are nothing short of criminals. Obviously, I changed insurance companies and I will never, (and am strongly encouraging you) do business with these conartists again.

In 35 + years of having insurance with a few different companies, I have never had a call from my agent asking about my well being and inquiring about property damage. Usually its you calling your agent to make a claim. I can't say enough great things about Andrew and his associates. They sent me down the wrong housing department for several weeks while i was stuck in a hotel. Then when they did get me to the right department the people cancelled my hotel before i got into my long term housing without any check in or communication about the new property starting or the hotel ending. Also had me pay a deposit for the wrong departments housing and i have been inquiring weekly for a month now about getting it refunded and never get any return calls or emails. Still trying to track down the refund for something i never used. Rude, worthless people. I cant wait to see what other issues pop up during my stay with the company until my home is rebuilt. State farm should not be doing business with them and just pushes us to them so they dont have to deal with anything. Everyone wants money but doesnt want to do anything for it.
