Two months ago out of nowhere I woke up with severe back pain that came with a horrible stiff back. I could barely move. Brief history on me I have played sports since the age of 11 even Played at the college level over seas for a few years. I ran half marathons use to do cross fit among other extreme activities. On occasion over the years I would experience back stiffness that would come and go every 5 years and only for 2-4 days. But nothing like the debilitating pain I experienced 3 months ago. After two weeks of pain and visits to a number of specialist I was told that I needed surgery and medication. Having friends that have gone the surgery route and have had mostly bad results I needed to try something else. I won't lie I was getting very depressed and even started looking into applying for disability. I work as an event manager and walk over 8 miles a day while running elaborate huge events. Dr. Steiner has been taking care of me and my whole family since 1994. At that time, I had such severe neck pain that I couldn't even get on the floor to play with my two toddlers. We were neighbors and he suggested I come in to see if he could help. I had tried medication and physical therapy, so I figured I had nothing to lose, even though I was skeptical about chiropractic. He loaned me two books, one of them about Gonstead chiropractic. Being kind of analytical, I was impressed with Dr. Gonstead's use of mechanical principles, thrust vectors, etc., in adjusting the spine. I also liked Dr. Steiner's use of the temperascope to find where there is inflammation to narrow where to make adjustments. I'd had neck pain on and off since being in an auto accident as a child. It took about eight adjustments, after which my neck pain was gone, allowing me to live like a normal person again. Over the years, Dr. Steiner has adjusted my back many times after it's bothered me. He's also adjusted my shoulder, which no amount of PT had taken care of, so limbs and extremities are other parts of his "toolbox." That reminds me of my son's knee pain. He played a lot of baseball and at his high school, climbing the stairs hurt a lot. Dr. Steiner looked at the X-rays he took (BTW, he takes excellent X-rays!) and found that the problem was in his hip. Three or four adjustments and the knee pain was gone, and it's never returned in the last eight or nine years. I'm a retired airline pilot, hence being analytical. One of my copilots was having a lot of back pain more than a year after an auto accident and lots of PT. I recommended that he see Dr. Steiner. He is bar none the most caring and friendly doctor in the universe. Dr. Steiner is a master of his craft, superb Dr. of Chiropractic Medicine and wonderful human being. My entire family and most of my close friends have benefited from his Chiropractic services over the last 15 years. I have been going to Dr. Steiner close to 30 years he has always put me back together with his Gonstead method I am a runner I have done triathlons and an Ironman without Dr.Steiner I would not have been able to do all my races he would adjust my knees my back and put me back together he is amazing!! I'm not a person who usually writes a review, however Dr. Steiner really helped me immensely. On Thursday, April 28 as I lean down to separate my dogs I felt something pop; this pain was so excruciating I was going to call an ambulance. After an hour of trying to get to my phone I called Dr. Steiner. At first, I was skeptical because I was in so much pain, I couldn't see that his suggestions were going to help me at that moment. I get a monthly massage for myself since I sit so many hours at work behind a desk. My husband was recommended surgery for his herniated disks after 2 months of not being able to walk for more than a couple minutes. So much skepticism out there about the work of a chiropractor, but I can tell you first hand that this man destroys all that skepticism.
