Things were organized, they had lots of nice clothing, and the prices were really good. I rarely find clothes at thrift shops, but I found 4 items, 3 of them that looked almost brand new. They were all priced around $6. They also had some furniture at excellent prices. The place was clean and didn't have that smell that some thrift stores have. The store employees were friendly. The only thing that can be improved was that I had to wait about 15 minutes to get into a dressing room. There were 4 and one was "out of order." I don't live around here, but if I was in the area again, I would love to go back again.

He came up with the idea for a charity in response to a fellow classmates question, what is your church doing for the poor? The group chose St. Vincent de Paul, patron saint of the poor for their name and under the guidance of Sister Rosalie Rendu, they increased the number of people they were able to help. Volunteers of the organization are called Vincentians. The charity spread from France to Europe. In 1845 they established in the United States in St. Louis, Missouri. The organization is now world wide in 150 countries with 750,000 members. I have visited a number of Vincent De Paul Society thrift stores throughout Florida and they have always been a great place to find a bargain. In this building there is the thrift store and an area for client services. Proceeds from this thrift store is used to provide a food pantry, clothing, rent, and utilities to those in need. They are working towards building a neighbor aid center on land that was purchased adjacent to the thrift store. Their goal is to raise $1,000,000 for construction costs and for the furnishings needed in the building. They are seeking donations of any amount to make this dream happen. This thrift store has a nice selection of small appliances, clothing, accessories, art, books, and household goods on the main floor. There is also a downstairs with books and larger pieces of furniture. On the day I visited everything over $1 was 50 percent off so prices were quite good. Higher end items like designer name clothes are sold on their Ebay store page. This is a wonderful charity that is working towards helping even more people in this community. Please consider supporting them if you are able.

Goodwill was founded in 1902 by Boston Minister, Reverend Edgar J. Helms. He took donations from…read morewealthy Bostonians and hired people who were poor and who could fix the items. The items were then given to the people who worked on them or were resold. Goodwill's philosophy is "a hand up, not a hand out." Goodwill Industries of Central Florida started in 1959. Today Goodwill has become a $5 billion nonprofit organization that provides job training, employment, and community programs for people who have disabilities that might prevent them from getting a job on their own. This Goodwill is part of Gulfstream Goodwill which was founded by the former Mayor of West Palm Beach, Ham Anthony in 1966 in Palm Beach County. Mr. Anthony brought together local business leaders made up of some the most prominent businessmen in Palm Beach County at that time. They started with 10 employees and have grown to 900 operating the largest health, human and social services nonprofit in the South Florida area providing employment, training, and housing. Today Gulfstream Goodwill operates in five counties: Palm Beach, Martin, Okeechobee, St. Lucie, and Indian River Counties. Gulf Stream Goodwill has 27 retail locations, 2 outlets, and 41 donation centers. Gulfstream Gulfstream Goodwill also operates 4 rehabilitation facilities and many residential transitional housing facilities. I discovered this Goodwill store while driving down Oslo Road in Vero Beach. It is located next to a Salvation Army thrift store for even more thrifting fun. This Goodwill has a ton of clothing for men, women, and children, accessories, furniture, home goods, toys, small appliances, books, and more, all at discounted prices. Everything is organized by type, color, and size so shopping is a breeze. Thrifting is enjoying a resurgence as a cool hobby. There are a ton of Instagram videos showing how you can have a business thrifting or how to style and transform thrifted items. A can of spray paint can give just about any item new life. I really enjoyed thrifting at this large, clean, and well organized Goodwill. Goodwill has even added new items to complete their thrift inventory. Not only can you find a unique bargain but you are repurposing items and keeping them out of the landfill while helping the community through your purchase at the same time.

The salesperson assured us we would received the set within 5-6 weeks and we could expect an update from her as the order progressed. 5 weeks go by without any communication. We check in and the salespersons cannot tell us where our order is in the process. We asked how that was possible. We were told they don't know when fabric is shipped, delivered. We were curious how they had planned to keep us updated with information they apparently don't have themselves! Yesterday, 7 weeks after paying for half the cost, my husband went into the store and the salespersons could STILL not provide an update or ETA. Super frustrating and shockingly bad customer experience. Leaders is not the same as it was 10 years ago, or this location in Vero has poor service--not sure which is true but well not be back to find out. Today, we get a call that the fabric is back ordered and will be another 6-7 weeks before we'll get the furniture. Seems very interesting they didn't know this weeks ago when our order was in queue. Gwen and Dawn said they are not aware of where an order is at any time. This seems odd to me and not a good business model. Regardless of the cost, I do expect the business to know where my order is. At Leaders, it's expecting too much to be informed about your purchase in a timely manner. I have asked for a full refund. Honestly, if they had told us this 2-3 weeks ago we could have made an informed decision rather than continuing to plan our outdoor space--rug, tables and decor based on this beautiful lanai set w custom fabric. Leaders, I'm incredibly disappointed with all parts of this experience. We wanted to purchase all US made and high quality products and you let us down.
