I am not treated like a gifted student here even though I am in G.A.T.E (gifted and talented…read moreeducation) program and I'm not treated like I have any potential at all nor are my friends treated that way. I feel they punish students in an unfair matter. The teachers are awesome, except a couple who in my opinion should be fired. Some staff are great, nice and firm when it comes to bad situations, but the way they punish the students here is unacceptable. For example, 'what's the name' will talk to the principal something happened like she punched me or some crap like that. No matter what staff it is in the entire school, they will only punish the people who were blamed. Not even asking their side of the story. Other than that, I am well and happy being in this school and will be going to a different school next year. I think you should check this place out because most teachers are awesome.

We had basically 3 factions, the wall sitters, the step sitters, and loosely in between were the rest of us. Having just experienced a game of Powder Puff Football reinforces how different the small town school experience is from the more urban one. Everyone turned out to support the football players and the cheerleaders, everyone had a great time and everyone mingled with everyone else. But beyond that, Benicia offers it's students an opportunity to get a great education under the tutelage of caring teachers, counselors and administrators. My niece, the last of my sisters three children to graduate from BHS has had some bumpy periods, but unlike some other schools, BHS doesn't allow it's students to fall through the cracks ( for the most part ). They offer a curriculum that peaks their interests and also has extra curricular activities that make for a well rounded educational experience. If you move to Benicia, rest assured that your child will get a great education. If you are looking for a place to move, put Benicia on the top of your list. It's a little more pricey, but well worth it. http://www.flickr.com/photos/12568072@N05/sets/72157618477482039/

The staff is very dedicated and helpful and the communication between the school to the community is constant and consistent. Wardlaw has a systematic team approach to student interventions that made a tremendous impact on children's achievement. My family is truly blessed to be a part of the Wardlaw for the past few years and they have laid the foundation for my children's success with their education.

All he does is create AI-generated memes and emails. Dr. Gentry does not lead the school as an instructional leader. He canceled every staff meeting last school year and doesn't ensure collaborative time on short Wednesdays is utilized by teachers. Our children's instructional time is wasted! He puts his work on other staff members. The academics at this school have dropped considerably. There is no data-driven decision-making by this incompetent leader. He has been observed making comments about the staff members whose husbands abuse them and who do and do not come from money. He has created a culture of gossip. Many families are choosing to remove their children from this school. I encourage you to do the same.

In fact, you should be doing that to the principle, not on an open forum. He wants to hear your concerns. This school is the best in the Fairfield area and you won't be disappointed. Btw, my daughter loves the new walking and running routine in the morning before school now. It is so easy to drop her off. The program basically works like this: parents volunteer one day a week in the classroom, for approximately 3 hours. This gives teachers more one-on-one time with students, parents get to be hands on with their child's education, and it builds a community rarely seen in our busy world. The teachers are dedicated, going above and beyond what is required. We've had a volunteer choir when no music program was available through the district. We go on field trips, and fund raise so that EVERY student goes on the field trip with no worries about cost. I have the enviable position of knowing all the parents of my child's classmates as well as all his classmates. Students who are exceeding grade level work can go to the next grade level up for that particular subject, and aren't going into the classroom of a teacher they are unfamiliar with. Students requiring additional attention are able to receive it, by parent volunteers in the classroom AND their teacher. There are family gathering events, from Winter Concerts to potlucks. We have a "Dad's Day" where dads, grandpas, uncles, etc. come in and share something about their jobs or hobbies. Last year we had a Vallejo motorcycle police officer and the kids (and a few teachers!) got to sit on his bike, there was fishing, working on electronics, trying on military tactical gear and much more. There are special themed centers for holidays, a monthly Books & Bagels event for kindergarten & first grade, and there was talk of starting a robotics team this coming school year. Knowing all the benefits of this program as well as the opportunity to be in there, not just attending PTO meetings, had made all the difference for me. My child loves it and is successful in school, I love it, and I want more families to know this is an option for them.
