My my my, what outstanding work from attorney Jennifer Martin! She handled my family's estate litigation thoroughly and won for us!! Jennifer took care of everything quickly from start to finish, affording us peace of mind. She listened to our concerns and grievances and was always available to answer any of our questions. At court, Jennifer puts on a fierce front when needed and at the same time, has a nice human touch. What really impressed me was when she drove all the way from Pleasanton to San Jose for a court hearing when the judge summoned her last minute. She's dependable, driven, and truly has a heart of gold! There's no one else I'd rather have in my corner to fight for us besides Jennifer. I 110% wholeheartedly recommend her services! read more

We hired Jennifer Martin to complete a family contract for us for property division. We paid her upfront and had 2 phone conversations with her and have never heard from her again. She will not answer messages via phone or her electronic messaging system. I sent a certified letter and still nothing back. Next step is a grievance with the state bar. read more

Jennifer is great and very knowledgeable about estate planning. A great listener and makes completing documents easy.

My husband and I had a great experience with Jennifer Martin. She helped us get our estate plan in order. She always took the time to answer our questions thoroughly and clearly. She also took the time to make sure we were seeing both sides of any potential issue or cause so that we could make informed decisions. As parents, we feel relieved knowing that our estate plan is in order and documented. Well worth the fee and highly recommended. read more

My husband and I had Jennifer Martin update our family trust. She did not return the documents that we gave her to revise the trust. We have called several times for 4 months and have never received a call back. This is the worst experience we have ever had with a trust lawyer. We have our fingers crossed that the work she did is correct but we are not very confident due to her unprofessionalism in returning calls. There are many lawyers to choose from so we hope this review will help others make a wiser choice and not end up as disappointed as we are. read more

I don't have the energy to detail all that was unsatisfactory with this law group. I will just say that with as many attorneys as one has to choose from, there is no reason to risk a bad experience on Jarratt Martin during one of your most trying times in your life. I wish I had done more homework on mediators before choosing this firm. That is my fault. I felt like I was in the trailer park version of law firms. I'm so glad it's over. read more

I would highly recommend Jennifer Martin for your legal matters. I had worked with her and she was very friendly and prompt in taking care of some issues that had come up, She was reasonable and fair with her prices also. Do call her! You will not be sorry! read more

My husband and I worked with Jennifer Martin to create a will, trust, POA and advanced healthcare directive. I can not say enough good things about working with Jennifer. First of all she was very organized, on top of every detail and extremely helpful through the whole process. She took the time to get to know what we wanted as a family, laid out all of our options, and explained pro/cons of certain decisions. It can be a hard thing to think about some of the situations that could arise in the future and Jennifer was kind, understanding and patient with us as we worked through how to proceed. She does all of the work, you just have to let her know your choices and she will make sure you are taken care of. She is also very affordable so even a young family can afford to have the peace of mind that their estate and children will be taken care of should something happen. I feel so much better knowing that we are covered, and I would recommend Jennifer to anyone looking to set up documents for their future. I have sent friends and family members to either start the process or just have their documents reviewed by Jennifer and they are all so happy to have worked with her as well. If you're thinking about the future it's a great idea to consult with Jennifer to make sure your wishes and your loved ones are covered no matter what may happen. read more

Divorce is stressful, painful, and sad. It can also be the beginning of a fresh start and a better life. I've known Amanda for several years and am happy to refer clients to her. She is intelligent, positive, and caring and works hard to bring her clients and their children to a solution that respects the rights and feelings of all parties. Our mutual clients have been extremely satisfied with her services and speak very highly of her. This is very important to me, because I need to know that my referrals to other professionals are handled promptly and competently. In addition, I work extensively with older clients who are downsizing and moving to their next homes. These seniors have worked a lifetime to purchase/maintain their homes and amass the income to support themselves comfortably in their retirement years. Amanda and Jennifer are my go-to estate planning attorneys to ensure that my clients' wishes are documented and executed exactly as they intended. They are extremely knowledgeable, responsive, and personable, which makes working with them a genuine pleasure. Thanks for all you do, Amanda and Jennifer! read more

I got an estate plan prepared by this firm. It was pulling teeth to get a response from attorny. She did not respond to any message, any phone call, any email ever. It was so frustrating. I eventually figured out I had to book a phone appt a week in advance then I could ask one simple question. It was super annoying I had to wait several days to speeak to my atty for less than 2 minutes. They had a few different staff members in the time I was there which dose not surprise me. IF I could have afforded someone else I would have left and moved on. I do not recommend, sorry, read more

I am not a former client, but I have worked with Amanda and have shared clients with her, so I can attest to her work ethic, professionalism, and the way that she takes care of her clients. I am a marriage and family therapist that is also in San Ramon. I was introduced to Amanda by a mutual contact that highly recommended her. Since then I have referred my clients to her and have heard nothing but good feedback on how she helped my clients in their divorce. Wanting to collaborate with her more, Amanda and I have recently started doing a podcast together as a way to provide information to our clients. Amanda hold herself to a high ethical standard. This is clearly reflected in the quality of her work and the lengths she will go to take care of her clients. Yet she is incredibly down to earth and easy to talk to. I love her sense of humor and her attitude in general. read more

I'm still working with Jennifer Martin for about 3 years. While at the beginning everything was fine and we had a very good communication, this year things are slowing down significantly. She does not respond promptly to my emails, very slow in scheduling meetings, does not finish work on time. I think it's very unprofessional. I wish it could be better in the future. read more

While I was going through the most difficult period of my life I was referred to Amanda which unfortunately ended up being the worst experience I have gone through. My ex husband and I needed someone to do our paperwork. We agreed to pretty much everything but we wanted things to be done right. In all our meetings with Amanda we would leave out of her office depressed and not talking she was so negative and was always trying to create tension between us and keep us there longer. I was getting the impression that with her everything was about the paycheck she would receive and how she would have more meetings that they were not even needed. She was getting upset cause we were not arguing and she was very judgmental towards me for some reason. I even remembered she made a comment about the fact that I was so calm and commended on my religious beliefs she sarcastically asked me if I was a Buddhist. Regarding the legal procedures and paperwork she was disorganized and late. I would receive letters from the court that the paperwork was not filed while I had given her everything on time. It took me a while to write this review cause I was trying to forget all about this experience it was brutal and probably worse than my actual divorce but I finally decided to do so cause I do not want anyone else to go through what I did. read more

My employer has an Employee Assistance Program which referred me to Amanda for help with my divorce filings. I had a very simple divorce in which my ex-husband and I were working through the system together and wanted an attorney to help navigate the Court filings. I made an appointment with Amanda and although she was not very professional in our initial meeting because talked endlessly about her personal life, I decided to pay her a retainer to guide me through the divorce process. Getting divorced was one of the most difficult things I have every gone through and the stress Amanda added was almost more than I could handle. I remember after hiring her, breathing a sigh of relief thinking I had someone to help me; someone who could direct me; that I was not alone in the process. That was so far from the case. After signing the service agreement, I asked for a copy back - but she told me she was having printer problems and would get it back to me eventually. The printer ended up being a major problem throughout the time we worked together. It was her excuse for not having done something she said she would. I had to nag her to file papers with the court on time. She always waited until the last day to do so, which completely stressed me out. This went on for several months. I needed someone to lead me through the divorce process, versus me leading and nagging her. The final straw was when I was after her for many months to please prepare my preliminary disclosures. She ultimately came back saying that she had been waiting for me to send the data - the truth was, I had sent it all to her four months prior in a very complete and organized fashion. I could not believe she was asking for it, months after me pestering her. This told me that she was incapable of keeping her records straight or a proper calendar. The experience was horrible and I ultimately stopped working with her and walked away from a chunk of money. I did hire a legal assistant who was completely professional, highly efficient, diligent, responsible, organized, clear, responsive, and competent. All of the things I expected Amanda to be, but was not. Thankfully, Amanda has since been dropped by my Employee Assistance Program and none of my colleagues will be referred to her. If anyone else received the service I did, I would suspect the complaints mounted and she was intentionally dropped by the Employee Assistance Program. read more

I am in the process of finding a right lawyer. I found Jarrat on the yelp with five star reviews. I went in for the free 30 minutes initial consultation. The interview came with much of her side stories and ran into 63 minutes. Then she said she stopped the clock now. Her hourly rate is $300. I owe her $180 and how would I pay for it now. She didn't mention any charges prior the appointment. I wasn't prepared for it and I wasn't in a mood to fight. I paid. I don't know how good she is. But the yelp review said she is not nicle and dime. It is correct. she is $5 for every minute.!! Do prepare to bring enough of money with you if chosen!! I also interviewed other lawyers in the area. They offer a real no cost initial consultation!! I did not picked Jarrat based on the way she does business. read more

Amanda helped me defend the privacy of my banking records in a divorce case to which I was not a party. Her understanding of the privacy issues in family law, where privacy is often neglected, protected me from any future involvement in this case or need for additional attorney time and costs. She offered me a flat fee which was less than the other parties were paying their lawyers, and which reduced my stress about how much this was going to cost me. She could have easily let this drag on, which would have been more profitable for her, but she did an excellent job and even got attorney's fees awarded for myself and the other parties. Ms. Jarratt was easy to work with, communicated clearly and promptly at each step in the process, and always kept me apprised of new developments. The next time I need an attorney, Jarratt Law Firm will be my first phone call. read more

I contacted Amanda to help me review and finalize my prenup. She was great with clearly explaining all of my options and decisions in a straight forward language that I could easily understand. She was also able to get everything together within my requested deadline. Another plus is that Amanda is very friendly and easy to talk to. I would be happy to work with her again if need be. read more

Amanda was my lawyer in a recent divorce. When the Ex and I started the procedures, things were pretty cordial but over time the negotiations broke down and I was subject to what I can only call "bullying." Hiring Amanda was the best thing I could have done. She is an absolutel pro and she explained to me my rights, spelled out what I was entitled to, and really gave me confidence in dealing with the negotiations even after my stuff was held hostage. Getting divorced can be a isolating experience, but I really felt Amanda had my back through it all. Thanks Amanda! read more

Amanda is quick to respond, and knows her stuff. She is an extremely vital resource in maneuvering the Contra Costa County Family Legal System. At a time when I was most vulnerable and paralyzed from being overwhelmed, Amanda swooped in and took care of me, guiding and explaining my options the whole way, doing what was in my family's best interest. She gave me insight and ideas that I would have never thought of! I HIGHLY recommend her as a family attorney in the Bay Area! You won't go wrong hiring her! read more
