I came at 11:30am and things were just getting started. By the time I left, it was packed with people. It's not a huge festival, but it's till worth visiting. This festival lasts all day long until 10pm. Plenty of Greek food, Greek beer, Greek music, dancing and more. Remember to go to the ticket booth first. Each ticket is worth $1.00 You can redeem your tickets at each of the booths you desire to go to. Example: Want a Gyro? That's 6 tickets. Service is fast so you don't have to wait too long. Grab a chair under the canopy and enjoy the sights and sounds. There's even a Greek bake sale inside the church if you want to take home some baklava or other Greek pastries. Have fun! OPA!!!

With the smoking now being limited to a specific area, that room if you walk through is VERY potent) and in a middle section so if you are walking on the back part, you have to go through it or take a large detour. This casino used to be a little looser but is not showing those signs which is a bummer. It has expanded as they now have even more hotel towers so I guess it is a supply and demand thing. This last weekend we stayed in the buffalo tower. The room was very new and in excellent condition. HOWEVER, the walls were very thin. We woke up to a toddler (?) laughing in the room next to us and it sounded as if the toddler were standing right next to our bed. There was also a good inch gap under the doors so that made us realize the privacy was not as private as you would hope. Overall the dining is a bit disappointing as well, but there are a lot of bars and the drinks are totally reasonable which I can appreciate. My husband went down to the front desk on the morning of our departure and asked about late checkout. He also asked what time the lagoon opened. He asked if the swim up bar is open at the same time as when the lagoon opens and the attendant said she didn't know because she isn't a alcoholic. I found that to be a odd statement for someone at the front desk to say. A simple "oh i'm not sure" would have been way more appropriate...

We parked near the hotel side and walked to the hotel tower my aunts had a room. Once we changed clothes we walked downstairs towards the sign that says lagoon. Check in at the desk and walk through the glass door. First thing you'll see is the lockers and towels. Change room is on the otherside. Walk little further you'll see the lazy river. Then on the left side is the adult section. There's a swim up bar, indoor and outdoor pool and couple of hot tubs. We hungout at the swim up bar until near closing time. I didn't have time to go down the water slide. Bowling is on the otherside of hotel lobby and restaurants throughout the casino. I'm amazed this casino has become more family friendly.

As far as the drinks go, 45th Parallel always has a cocktail tent and of course the whiskey tasting, which includes a plastic tasting shot glass(the cost for tasting is a few dollars, which gets you entered into the raffle as well). 45th Parallel has greatly expanded the property, so the festival now includes their newly constructed bar if you would like a brew along with your whiskey.

There is a north and south food area! Highly recommend the roasted corn! There are also classics like kettle corn, beer, alcoholic ciders, mini doughnuts and more! This year they added a BMX bike show and my boys REALLY like that! (Free) The maze is free and takes just under an hour for us to normally complete it. The petting zoo is also free unless you want to feed the animals. Then it's a few bucks for a cup of food. There is a giant slide, little train ride that goes around the grounds,hayride, pumpkin blaster, pony rides, and more that all have a small extra fee to them. I suspect this is why the ratings are lower. There are also large jumping pillows (adults can go on these too), shows, pig races, picture opportunities, small play ground areas, a large tire climbing area, zip line, hay maze, corn pit and more that are free. So plenty to do without having to shell out more money if you do not want to! This is a fall staple in my house! And we enjoy it every year!

Mankato Riverfront Park/Vetter Stone Amphitheater…read more Well me and my Gal took a drive to Mankato for another of our Kid un-friendly events. We got tickets for a concert at the Vetter Stone Amphitheater at the Mankato Riverfront Park. We found some street parking close by and had a short walk into the park. Grabbed our 21+ wrist bands and headed to the beer tent. The line moved fast enough but as the night progressed we found out they really needed a few more tents. They had a full bar but cheap crappy beer. $4.50 for a Tall Boy Grain Belt wasn't bad. At least it wasn't expensive crappy beer. Standing in beer line ended up being some of the best entertainment at the event. So the lineup was Lita Ford, then Dokken, next Sebastian Bach and closing out the Show Ratt. We would have preferred to have just seen Lita and Sebastian as neither one of us were big fans of Ratt and Dokken back in the day. Lita Ford... Still hot at 54. Great show, Old stuff new stuff and even Cherry Bomb from the Runaways. 4 Stars. Dokken... We were pleasantly surprise we ended up enjoying them more than I thought we would. 3 Stars. Sebastian Bach... Kicked Butt! Still has the voice and puts on a great show. It was great when he stopped the show a few times to "encourage" the fans to get pumped up. Plus he has an awesome bass player. (I have all ways liked a great bass player better then an average lead guitar) 5 Stars. Ratt... I could take a pass. They were boring compared to the other 3 bands. We left the concert before they were done with their set. It was phoned in music in the 80's and hasn't improved with age. 2 Stars. The Park and Amphitheater... Good acoustics, great sight lines, they had plenty of Biffs, (however as I mentioned not enough beer tents) You can bring a chair or blanket if you want. (we had a blanket along but rock n rollers don't sit much during concerts ) 4 Stars.

Security - to get into the event went fine- checked ID's, bags, and metal detector.
