Emily was able to advise us on what we should be thinking about when listing down certain designations and how to include certain asset information. It was super helpful to be able to talk out the nuances of certain situations with her to help us come to a decision on what we wanted to include in our estate documents and how. Emily will first provide a free 30 min consultation so you can get to know her and understand her process. Then, she'll send over a worksheet to help you prepare for a deeper dive call you have (1-1.5 hours) to do the estate planning itself. At this point, you still are not obligated to move forward with any services or issue any payment until you have the final signing appointment with both Emily and her designated notary. During this final appointment, Emily will review the finalized documents with you and if there are any last minute changes or corrections to be made, you have the opportunity to do so during this call. After the signatures are complete and payment is made, you get a giant binder mailed to you the following week with your official documents with the law office also retaining a copy for their records. The plans she creates for you have you completely covered, from the trust, the power of attorney and the advance health care directive and onto the HIPAA Authorization form, the pour-over will, the Trust Cert, a grant deed to move your property into the trust0, the county form that tells them this is not a taxable event and more. Because i see these packs from other professionals, I can tell you that not all attorneys include these critical documents. And you will never know what you don't have because most signers haven't ever seen this paperwork before. Unlike other attorneys, her forms are unique to you and your wishes; she does not do a simplistic download from some internet site. In addition, Emily has a lovely, compassionate way about her, and she grasps/asks/investigates/advises/pulls out of you what you want to happen if something unexpected happens no matter how complicated your family and financial dynamics.
