I got an invoice from Quest Diagnostics asking me to pay for the blood work. Before this, I have never had to pay for an annual physical and is completely covered under my insurance. I called the doctors clinic 2 months ago and the lady who answered the phone said I do not need to worry and she will take care of it in a day's time. A week ago I got a notice that Quest Diagnostics sent me pending dues to collections!!! I called the clinic again and the lady said she will take care of it immediately and call me back. I did not receive a call back and I have been trying to call them for the last 7 days and they just dont answer my calls! Stay away. Mistakes happen but these guys just dont respond. Unprofessional behavior!

And then, when I called about something urgent, I couldn't reach the office for several weeks. After finally contacting Dr. Alleva, he informed me that he would no longer be able to help me. He then either lied in his recounting of our original meeting, or he was not listening originally because I couldn't have been clearer about the urgency of the situation given my recent move. I would have found someone else immediately if he hadn't agreed to treat me in the first place. Otherwise, I did find the secretary staff to be very friendly. But the office itself is depressingly outdated.

The doctor examined me and said "Maybe your bra is too tight," then recommended Tylenol and rest. 2 days later my symptoms had not improved so I went to the ER, by the time I arrived I had entered sepsis which is life threatening. NYU Langone admitted me for a week with chest pneumonia. I can't believe how badly my pain was dismissed and I nearly died from lack of care by this practice. Do not visit this urgent care.

I came in with chest pain and was made to feel like a dumby for coming in. I'm glad the nurse ran an EKG for me but there was no other exploration or testing offered. I'm still experiencing sharp chest pain the next day with no answers as to why except the suggestion that I had spicy food (I didn't). Doctor truly seemed annoyed that I wasn't satisfied with him only telling me I wasn't having a heart attack, like that's the bare minimum? You also have to tell me what else could be going on. I didn't even mention or display feeling anxious and the first thing he said while holding my EKG results was not about me experiencing pain, but he said "so you are experiencing some anxiety?" Male doctors need to get their biases checked or trained.

Bruce the receptionist was very apologetic but I won't be back. Since I didn't get my mole screening maybe everyone on yelp can do it instead what do you think are these cancerous UPDATE You guys it's been about 4 months since this review and no one has helped me with my moles. It took less than 30 minutes, and my teeth looked visibly better! Dr. Shapiro came in to review my x-rays and talk through options for fillings, aligners, and periodontists. She was so kind, patient, and knowledgeable. When I returned for my fillings, Dr. Shapiro talked me through the process, and she made sure I was comfortable throughout the entire procedure. The dental assistant even turned on a Bruno Mars playlist, to which both her and Dr. Shapiro enjoyed singing along to. It made for a very relaxed procedure. I will absolutely return and recommend Dr. Shapiro and her team to my friends.

Helen at the front desk was so patient and pleasant, my nurse was very kind, and my provider Matthew Chan answered all my questions and had great bedside manner. I also really appreciated that he considered my symptoms and the test results carefully to advise me how to proceed with what turned out to just be a non-COVID and non-flu virus and didn't just prescribe me something that wasn't actually going to do anything. He advised me what to do/ take ibuprofen to feel better and I was quickly on my way! I had been staying with friends in Brooklyn when I visited ModernMD and even recommended this location to them for the future since I got such great service and it's so close to them

I think there was only 1 doc on staff for the day and after an hour of waiting, I was seen. I was miserable but the staff were patient and heard me out. They decided to run a flu and covid panel. Despite being vaccinated I was stunned to learned I contracted Flu A. We discussed medication and the doc took some of my preferences for my terrible cough and prescribed me steroids and tamiflu. Due to the holiday season and time of day there were no local pharmacies open. The doc went above and beyond to find me a pharmacy that was open and close enough by so I could start the tamiflu ASAP. My meds were ready in 10 mins and I could not be more grateful. The wait time was awful sitting there for an hour but believe the docs urgency in prescribing my meds prevented me from getting much worse. Glad to have them in the neighborhood.

It was game over when I overheard him tell someone he thought they had pneumonia. I swear I recognized "my" chest x-ray in a google image search. That's when I went to Weill Cornell for a second opinion. I managed to get photos of my x-rays from the receptionist, and they showed clear lungs. I immediately got off some very nasty lung medicine that caused joint pain, breathing trouble, chest pain and acid reflux. At the time I was getting blood work weekly to figure out what was wrong. The medicine I was prescribed was so aggressive and unusual that the pulmonary specialist asked if the prescribing doctor was outside the U.S. I followed the specialist's advice, and never went back!
