After wandering around Celle on a very quiet Monday morning, we concluded that nearly every…read morerestaurant that was open was an Argentinian Steakhouse. Grand Canyon seemed like a nice quiet one, with a modern interior and a more unique menu, so we picked this place for lunch. I combined two appetizers, the bruschetta and carpaccio, both of which were good. Nice, thin carpaccio, very authentic. Bruschetta was not remarkable, but I have no complaints. My husband had the "Westernpfanne" which could best be described as a ginormous skillet filled with meat: chicken, pork, bacon, and a bunch of potatoes and Hollandaise sauce. This plate could have easily fed two or more people, and my husband loved it. Our friend had the Grand Canyon salad which was definitely a big meal as well, with their house dressing which she said was delicious though I'm not sure what's in it. The deep fried mushrooms with sour cream and garlic bread looked soooo good, I was incredibly envious of the people next to us who were eating this enormous platter full of them. Crazy portions, even to someone like me who has lived in America for years. I would definitely eat at this place again. Good food, ridiculously large portions, and I desperately wish I'd tried some of those deep fried mushrooms!

I hosted a dinner of 6 business colleagues, and we were all completely amazed. We were greeted warmly by name on the reservation and joined 4 of our colleagues already sat with nice aperitifs. We ordered 2 sharing platters and the octopus carpaccio to start, along with a bottle of Black Spirit, a German Merlot, which was highly recommended by our wonderful Kurdish waitress. The sharing platters were incredible, packed with beef carpaccio and rocket salad, grilled veggies, burrata and grilled honeyed goat cheese. We also had bread at the table. I didn't try the octopus carpaccio but all reported it wonderful. The steaks were simply incredible. My filet, ordered medium rare, was perfection. Atop a bed of grilled veggies, it slid off the knife, almost rendering it unnecessary. My jacket potato with herbed butter and sour cream was enormous and delicious! My 2 colleagues split The Tomahawk, a huge steak cooked on the bone and it was beautiful. I can't believe how good this place is. Go there. Eat steak. It's wonderful!
