I hosted a dinner of 6 business colleagues, and we were all completely amazed. We were greeted warmly by name on the reservation and joined 4 of our colleagues already sat with nice aperitifs. We ordered 2 sharing platters and the octopus carpaccio to start, along with a bottle of Black Spirit, a German Merlot, which was highly recommended by our wonderful Kurdish waitress. The sharing platters were incredible, packed with beef carpaccio and rocket salad, grilled veggies, burrata and grilled honeyed goat cheese. We also had bread at the table. I didn't try the octopus carpaccio but all reported it wonderful. The steaks were simply incredible. My filet, ordered medium rare, was perfection. Atop a bed of grilled veggies, it slid off the knife, almost rendering it unnecessary. My jacket potato with herbed butter and sour cream was enormous and delicious! My 2 colleagues split The Tomahawk, a huge steak cooked on the bone and it was beautiful. I can't believe how good this place is. Go there. Eat steak. It's wonderful!

I had a burger (which was completely made with products you can by from any random supermarket... dry bun, frozen pattys etc...) and my friend had a mixed bbq plate with a variation of steaks that were grilled pretty impressively on an open fireplace in the restaurant but all were dry as God knows what and did not taste either. The service was nice and friendly but I'm afraid to say that the food and decoration as well as atmosphere of the place were awful. :-(

You would think they would want to be sure everything was done correctly. When I ordered my burger well done, I bit into it, and will admit that the flavor combos on the cheese burner with jalapenos was pretty amazing. Until two bites later, the burger was not even medium, bit raw inside. I decided to take it back, thinking 'okay, they are new, and are probably working with some new people who are learning the art of burger cooking.' They made me a new one, but completely punished the burger, and me, for speaking up. It must have been pressed down several times to get all of the juice out and make it cook fast, but it was also completely burnt on the outside. if that was not bad enough, it was so full of salt that I couldn't eat it. I put it on the side thinking that perhaps because they were new, someone would ask me how it was. Not one person. While lI was waiting for the burger to be done, I started eating the sweet potato fries. About every second or third fry was cooked crisp on the outside but was raw on the inside. The temperatures for cooking the fries and the burgers are set way too high. A good burger is not fast food. When ordering well done at the Harp or at Duke's, it is lovingly prepared, cooked through and juicy. They have the art of the burger down. What a horrible feeling, spending so much money on a food after a hard day at work, only to be given crap and have nobody care that they are serving crap. Like I said, the first two bites were amazing. Please learn now to cook properly. Until then, I will stick with Duke's and the Harp. Maybe try the Lindenblatt Burger, which I also hear is pretty darned good.
