We were seated right away and quickly ordered, single burger and fries for me, slider size for the wife. The burgers were perfectly done, the fries the best anywhere. I'll start by saying, I know it's not 5 star dining, but we expected better yesterday. My daughter and I went to grab a quick bite. We ordered at the kiosk and our ticket didn't print. Went to the counter to get assistance because you need it to scan to fill your drink. We waited for awhile and were never acknowledged. Finally a younger girl came to the other counter with our food, so we went to her and told her we needed the ticket. She didn't say a word, went over and checked the kiosk then said she'd have to print it. So she went behind the counter and printed it....but said "it don't have the QR so I'll have to get your drinks." We had her fill my soda while we sat to eat and wait for my daughter's milkshake. The (I assume) manager working the grill was unpleasant. The young girl, Tiana, barely said a few words...never said thank you...never smiled. Milkshake came out 15 minutes later. While eating, Tiana was cleaning up. She was emptying the garbage and while doing so another patron went to throw something away and Tiana told her to go to the other garbage. Then she went in to clean the bathroom. She was wearing gloves and I decided to take notice...she emerged from the bathroom after a few minutes to retrieve another product...with gloves still on and went to the counter next to the soda machine and started straightening things (lids, straws). I was driving from Toledo, Ohio all the way back to Greeley, Colorado on October 13th of 2022, I decided to stop here for lunch. I grew up eating Steak 'n Shakes in Michigan. I also enjoyed dining at them when I lived in Florida. I ordered the steak and cheese burger with fries. It was all quite good. The burger was cooked fresh, and had abundant flavor. The fries at Steak 'n Shake are my favorite out of all the burger joints. I just like thin shoestring fries. The service was quick. Ordered my food via kiosk. They called my number. Asked about shakes I had ordered. They said they were running behind. Almost done with my food and go back up and check on them. And they were not being made. So they started making them and then when they were done. They announced KAREN your shakes are ready. Mind you I had ordered them when I ordered my food but did not receive when I got my food and it was already paid for. I had asked nicely about it twice. Wow what a fantastic restaurant. I have going to Steak'n Shake for years and this place was packed we were seated right away. We placed our order and our server Jaycee went above and beyond to make sure we were happy. I ordered the chilly 3 ways, which was a classic chilly with spaghetti. My guest ordered the friscomelt with spicy fries. Both meals were outstanding and the restaurant was clean well run. I definitely will be back again. read more

This place is really great! Very clean, nice, decent, and bright. The whole place is very welcoming, relaxing, and so interesting. They are well-maintained, organized, and the ambiance inside is really great. It was a pleasure for me to experience how great this place is. Their food here is incredibly delicious. Their menu is so big and they have so huge variety of food. You can really enjoy everything they have to offer you. All of their food is fresh, made to perfection, and very decent. The prices of those food is really fair and reasonable. You can really save a lot here while eating awesome and quality food. They are way better than other stores around the area. This steak and shake is horrible, would not recommend unless you enjoy eating hair, paper, or other items they are to reckless to care to make sure it's not in the food. I ate here multiple times and everytime I find a foreign object in my food. Today (the last day I eat here) there was wax paper of the box a cookie came out of smashed into my cookie. Prior we found multiple long hairs in their chili and more paper in the spaghetti. You get what you pay for I guess... read more

Food is alright. You don't get much for fries and the chicken is pretty much bread. But that's not the main reason for the 2 stars. The real reason is the obnoxious family that let their 4 year old have a tablet on full volume playing games and two older kids being loud, throwing things, etc. the moms don't care and neither does the staff. Probably top 5 worst fast food experience of my life. When I got up to the window, they handed me the wrong order. I told them, and they told me to pull forward. After waiting another 15 minutes in the parking lot the worker came out, handed me my food without saying a word (anything else I can get you, thank you for stopping, etc) and went back inside. My wife and I went to a Stake N Shake in Peru, Illinois. We ordered our food on the kiosk and then proceeded to sit in a booth until our number was called. Our number was called and I went up to get our food and brought it back to the booth. My wife brought to my attention that on the kiosk she said no onions and to add lettuce and tomato on her burger but her burger had no lettuce and tomato and had chopped onions on it. She went up to the woman calling out the numbers and let her know that she ordered no onions and had added lettuce and tomatoes. The lady immediately said my wife was lying and refused to give my wife what she ordered. I went back up to the woman and explained to her what my wife had ordered and what she received. The woman said I was lying as well and that there was no mistake. I repeated to her three times that my wife put on the kiosk no onions and wanted lettuce and tomato added. She repeatedly told me that I was lying. I repeated myself for the fourth time and the woman grunted and rolled her eyes and went back to the kitchen. I sat back in the booth waiting for my wife's food to be remade. She then came out of the kitchen with the grill person talking loudly to each other how we are lying and that there was no mistake. Other customers started wondering what was going on. My wife and I personally don't know what they were so upset about and why they repeatedly called us liars. Both parties were both being peaceful except when the woman and cook were raising their voice about our situation. Afterwards they gave my wife's sandwich back with the onions still on it and gave us a piece of lettuce and still no tomato. We did not want to keep going up to the counter so I ate my food and my wife ate her fries. Ok, so I ordered a chicken sandwich and the waitress brought me out a beef burger. She was a teenage and very sweet, so I didn't want to give her trouble. I'm glad I kept the burger (it was something with guacamole and jalapeno cheese) because it was the best burger I had eaten in a long time. I love a good burger, and I had struggled to find a good one in the area while here on vacation. I was surprised I found it at Steak and Shake. I love steak n shake & i would probably have given it 5 stars had i not received poor service by my waitress. So if you've ever eaten here you know how awesome the burgers, fries and shakes are! Our watress, tiffany, was really snippy and abrupt with us. It felt like she was trying to rush us with our order and I didn't appreciate it. Then when I asked for a cup to take my shake to go she comes back and throws the cups on the table. UH EXCUSE ME!? If people are unhappy with their jobs then get anew one. 2 stars because our waitress Haley was awful. We had a relatively large group of 6. The place was fairly busy. She just was not a good waitress. She took our drink order in a timely fashion. When she brought our drinks she stood at the head of the table and expected everyone to pass the drinks down. It was not that she could not get around the table she didn't want to. We had 3 people order the French onion soup. She expected us to pass the soup across the diners at the table to the other end. Hot soup. No. I refused to pass the soup. She had to walk to the end of the table. It was the same thing when the food came. I could see if she had no room to move but that was not the case. She needs to shadow a more experienced waitress to learn how to do her job. read more

Our food took a while once but it didn't bother us, and the manager there gave us our shakes for free and our meals for half off ! The shakes can be watery but that means its easier to drink !
