Had a great experience at Stay True Cycleworks! Just bought a bike off of marketplace. Brakes were all out of whack and it didn't shift smoothly at all. I called here and another shop to get a quote and this shop was initially cheaper by $25. Once I showed up John quickly checked out my bike and said I'd be good with the even cheaper tune up. That was $50 less than the neighboring competition! And John is fabulously easy to talk to and genuine in nature. I rode the bike home two days later and she rides smooth as butter (I could have gotten it back in one day but I was in no rush). My experience at this shop could not have been better. Friendly service at your home. Had all equipment needed to fix one bike (new shifters, brakes, and cleaning) and do a regular maintenance on another, all for under $100, and in just about an hour. If you are someone who, like me, likes to pretend they know what they're doing, then you need someone like John Cooper to rethread the crank arm you threaded by screwing the pedals into your new e-bike incorrectly, to fix the flat you got because you didn't realize the PSI of your tires was written on them, and to turn your fork the correct way 'round. I went out mountain biking with some friends and throughout the ride I happened to break my derailleur i frantically called all the bike shops in San Diego for a replacement derailleur and found that some shops didn't have any or they had some but the turn around time is 2 weekend to a months. So I when I found that out I bought myself a replacement derailleur and tried to get to work but I didn't get it to work so I started looking on yelp for mobile bike mechanics and I happened to spot StayTrue cycle and I message the owner John, phenomenal person and we started talking about the situation I had and he told me that he can see my bike the next day so I drop it off to him at his place and when I got there I told him I also wanted a tune up on the bike and he said he would take care of it along with fixing the derailleur problem. So I waited 2 days and I got a message from John saying the bike is done. I was stun that he got to fixing my derailleur and tuning my bike within 2 days. He charged me 65 for the tune up with is cheaper price then any other bike up and also 5 for a new cable for the my derailleur. I also tip him out 7 dollars for having a quick turn around time I told him I need it by Saturday and he got it done. I gotta say I would highly recommend John to any of my friends that ride bikes. He will take care of you and your bike. I would go back to John. He'll be the only person to work on my bikes in the future. read more
