Status gets an All Star rating from me. The atmosphere is upbeat yet relaxing. The shop is very clean and welcoming. I am a senior who likes to get my hair low and buzzed, I guess I am trying to hide all my grays. TBone never fails to deliver exactly what I like. He is very Professional and Charismatic. He handles his job with years of experience and knowledge. My Buzz Cut always comes out exactly how I want it. I showed up at my appointment and the female stylist saw me from the backroom, hid and ignored me so I left after 10 minutes. WEIRED beyond belief!!! No one at reception to greet us either read more

I have not used their services but every time Karen cuts my fiancé's hair and gets his beard trimmed, he comes back looking AMAZING. Thank you for your service, Karen, consistently incredible job. read more

best barber shop in Victoria. vibes are always on point and always a pleasure to get a cut.

My go to place for family haircuts! Every barber is talented and I've never been disappointed for the last 10 years.

Nice and cool barbershop. I was able to come in and also got bumped up a little faster too. Got are real VIP service. My barber was Alex. She's one amazing barber with a cool vibe. I'm not from BC but visiting. I would highly recommend this place! read more

Troy is a great owner and barber! Extremely friendly and professional. The map location is a bit inaccurate, just go down Victoria if you are at the street corner. read more

OK, so here's an update to my Review of Status barber shop. Troy, the owner contacted me, apologized for the poor service and asked me to try again. I was hesitant; but Troy seemed genuine in his concern and hey everyone needs a second chance. So I went back for shave and a cut. Marvellous. If it had been this way when I first went in, I would have given thumbs up all round. All I can say is that the atmosphere, and the service I got this time was superb. The stylist, Maurice, cut my hair exactly as I requested and gave me a wonder relaxing straight razor shave with exceptional care and attention to detail. I would recommend him to anyone. Maurice was friendly, (without being a chatter box) professional and an interesting guy given his interest career. The products were all natural and my skin was baby soft after. This was an enjoyable experience and so I can now say I'm a fan! Thanks Troy for making this good. read more

They take care of your hair. Their definite strong suit is their service and friendly atmosphere. The owner was next to me cutting someone else's hair and he's very energetic and passionate about what he does. His music is also on point! I'll admit my guy didn't quite cut it the way I envisioned it, and partially that might be due to the fact that i gave a slightly off angled picture of my last cut, but I was a little surprised that it looked shorter than I was used to and the top looked off angle (I got a short undercut). After I restyled it myself though, I got it to go the way it was supposed to. I was also turned away from the mirror the whole time when I had my hair cut so that also made me a bit uneasy. Overall, looking at everyone else's hair at the end they all looked real fly and I could definitely tell they have the skill. I know many people who were in the waiting room saying it was their regular go to. read more

Do NOT got to status barber shop! I booked weeks in advance for my wedding and told them I didn't care what it cost I need my hair and beard looking the best it can that day. The girl that did my haircut was great but the OWNER did my beard and cut a huge chunk out of my mustache, left patches of hair all over my neck (no straight razor at all) and cut me up with his trimmer. Not wanting to get back in his chair I immediately went to another barber and was told nothing could be done it just had to grow back out. Troy knew how important this was to me so on one of the biggest days of my life I payed $80 to walk down the isle looking like someone used a hedge trimmer on my face. I can't stress enough if it's for a big day or a regular day just get your cut somewhere else. read more

I've been coming here for two years now. Great atmosphere. Never had a bad haircut at this place.

What a fantastic spot. Tons of great barbers, and the owner Troy is hilarious. Would definitely recommend!

These guys are hands down the best in town. They really take there time to make sure each haircut is flawless.

Triemmed my beard, trimmed it well. Competitive pricing, busy so was a bit chaotic and messy on the inside.

The staff were friendly and the service was quick. Those are the two positive notes of my trip to status. As a barbershop the overall experience of status can only be measured by its actual product, the haircut. This was awful. For the life of me I cannot understand what the barber was attempting. I asked for a quick trim of the haircut I already had, just a little off so I could style it properly for an event I was attending, he and I agreed on this. For some reason I ended up with a third of my hair being trimmed to almost the scalp and the other half left with an inch to an inch and a half of length. In a way I can apply some style to this, but it was certainly not what I wanted going in to my haircut, and it is certainly not what I want to have to deal with. I'm sure this isn't the case for everyone visiting status and I'm sure the majority would have a good experience. Unfortunately for me this wasn't the case and I was left very disappointed. read more

The best thing I can do for myself is come down to Status for a haircut. It's not just a hair cut; it's an experience! Great atmosphere, super cool staff, and the owner is personable, friendly, and always around and checking in with customers to make sure everyone's experience is great! Kane is my regular guy, but him and Kane usually have a wait list that pushes a couple hours at the very least, and sometimes they're slammed solid until the end of the day. Totally worth the wait every time though! read more

My most recent visit to Status was for my son, however I also got recommended by the owner to see the "asian guy", that he was "awesome". My son usually sees Mo when we come to Victoria, he's awesome! I was reluctant to have my hair cut because it is a barbershop but I was told by the owner, he was great at women's hair?! I should have listened to my gut instinct. I asked for a trim because I am growing my hair out and he proceeded to butcher my hair, pulling it all forward from the back and cutting it at bang length. When I told him he was cutting too much, he rudely said, "I know what I'm doing". I asked to be turned facing the mirror so I could see what he was doing and he refused. I then told him to stop cutting, he kept making excuses and begged me to let him finish the job. I said, he had done enough damage and I wanted to leave, I was left with a bowl cut or mullet! What makes this worse is I contacted the owner to tell him how upset and unhappy I was with the stylist he had recommended, I was ignored for a week. Surprised by being ignored I wrote him again saying that I was shocked he had not responded to a customer complaint. Especially considering how quickly he had responded to my positive experience months before about one of his guys. He was more than speedy in thanking me for my feedback. He wrote me back saying "babe, I apologize, I've been so busy". Call me after 8:30pm and we can talk. Unprofessional to say the least and I still have not had any call back to assure me he has dealt with the situation. It's easy to respond to the good comments, it take an ethical businessman to respond professionally when there are complaints, you can't ignore your clients, it will catch up on you. Spend your time troubleshooting and your business will flourish. I gave you many chances to respond but you chose not to, this was by far my last resort but important to let others know they nay face the same issues. I WILL be back to Status but only to see MO, I will write my review on him next, he is outstanding, fun and professional at what he does and he listens! read more

My man desperately needed a hair cut and beard/moustache trim. We were nearby have breakfast and decided to stop in. No need for a wait and we were lucky to have Conrad as his barber. He has a great eye for detail and took his time make sure that my hub looked his best. Nice atmosphere too, especially considering they are in the midst of renos due to a recent flood. If we lived in the area, I'm sure we would come back to see Conrad. read more

Visiting Victoria for the first time on vacation I needed a cut and Troy got me right. I appreciate the hospitality which is a big deal for me coming from Tennessee. I highly recommend this barbershop and it's relaxing environment. Give them a try. I wish nothing but success for Troy and his crew. read more

I came in last week with my entire wedding party. Not only were the cuts amazing! We all really had fun while there. Thought it would be way tougher to find a good barber outside of Los Angeles. If I ever find myself back in Victoria that's the spot that I'm gonna get my cut at. read more

If you are looking for a top end barber with world class customer service then look no further! Family friendly and always a great time!

Without a doubt, the best place I have ever got my hair cut. I found out about them through a groupon deal and my first haircut was great. The atmosphere in there is great and the whole place feels welcoming. The owner and staff are extremely helpful and make the place run smoothly. My second time in there was even better, the place was full of people coming and going. It was the best haircut and exactly what I wanted. They even asked if I wanted to wait for a certain person who specializes in what I was looking for and I couldn't be happier. I will always go here from now on as it is simply an amazing place. Also, I wouldn't reccomend going on a busy day because there can be a big wait to get a spot, but the wait will be worth it. Every guy in Victoria should try this place. read more

I bought my husband a Groupon called "Ultimate cut & pro shave experience". He was looking forward to it as he has never gone for a "professional" shave, he just shaves over the bathroom sink like most guys. He came home really disappointed. He complained about being rushed through, given a quick hair trim and a dry shave with an electric shaver (he could have just done it at home, except better). The "mini facial treatment & massage" did not happen at all, neither did the "complimentary cologne", and the "light shoulder massage" was the woman standing behind him for 20 seconds with an electric vibrating massager held against his shoulders before he was told "ok done!". How very weird! He came home with bad razor burn all over his neck and went into the bathroom to apply aftershave. I was embarrassed that I even sent him. NOT worth it ladies. Or guys. read more
