So we saw Heather Head. Let me say first off...this shop is really cute and the nautical theme well done. We had a little bit of a hard time finding it within the building but it's upstairs :) in the same building as the bagel place. So back to Heather. She was absolutely adorable. Fun, friendly, and just about a perfect match for him. She listened and was just great. He was thrilled to get a scented hot towel treatment. It was his first time at an actual barber shop and it was a very good experience for him. It was an hour drive for us but worth it. We made a day of it and had fun. Ship Shape is a very inclusive place with a mission to be a comfortable experience to everyone. This is actually how we got there, looking for a good place to go where my largely queer family can go without walking directly into obvious nasty biases. This isn't a great experience and I do my best to not expose people to it. There was only a welcoming friendly atmosphere, fun music, clean and pleasant environment and a lovely hair stylist. My kid was in heaven and now his sister is demanding to go next time! I definitely recommend giving Ship Shape a try. I know we will be back.
