FUEGO DILL FRITO tacos for 2019 taco week
    Rachelle B.

Most recent visit: Nov 2019: taco week - I was apparently the first to order their taco on the first day. The FUEGO DILL FRITO (buttermilk chicken tosssed in firehouse spice, on flour tortilla with crunchy & creamy dill pickle, red cabbage & chipotle slaw, topped with drizzle of ranch, honey & fried jalapeno) - two for $15 with a side. They were very good, crunchy, without any specific ingredient dominating the flavor. Overly memorable? No. Would I get again? Yes. Side of 'loaded potato' soup finished the meal off nicely, cream based with chunks of potato, small slices of bacon, topped with chives. Service felt a bit long for a weekday lunch as we were rushing to get back to work, but overly a good experience.

The works Burger and a Ceaser! Soo good.

Wow! My friend and I heard about this restaurant online and had to check it out. First of all the atmosphere is great, beautiful wooden tables and booths. Love it. Food is so delish! I ordered the Works Burger and it was full of flavour and dripping with juices, bacon was perfectly cooked and crispy! Drinks are perfect, for some reason it's hard to find a good ceaser in Halifax and this place has it! Can't wait to come back!

Wait a second, wasn't that place a KFC? Yes Virginia it was and gone are 99 cent snackwiches and the shopping carts, replaced with craft beers and Mini Vans. Warm and inviting Station Six surprises when you walk through the door. Reclaimed barn planks and custom made banquets create an inviting atmosphere. I went with my family for my birthday, and my friend (disclaimer) who is one of the partners was kind enough to reserve a table on a busy Saturday night. An empty table here is clearly hotter than Vancouver real estate. We ordered some apps, including onion rings and bacon guacamole. My folks ordered a burger and fish and chips. Notoriously fussy and defacto Swiss Chalet ambassadors, they really enjoyed the quality. We had a variety of dishes and they were executed nicely. Dinner for 4 and a child tax and tip with drinks was $175, that's a lot of snackwiches but call me a fan. I'll be back, my family left in good spirits and well taken care of. Some tips on your place: Their were four specials listed on a chalk board. I purposely got up and went around the corner to view them. When I had some questions the waitress didn't even know there was specials. We asked for drink menus and she said they went printed yet, not a huge deal but they serve local craft taps and it's nice to know they are avail. Bring the guacamole closer to room temperature or make it fresh as ordered. Having it refrigerated that cold breaks the chips. The kids menu was verbal as well. The back door entrance is going to be an issue as it gets colder. A system like the stubborn goat has would be of benefit. Work hard on your social media. I live in Dartmouth and need a reason to travel to restos. Maybe a tap takeover, sausage festival, or lobster themed dishes in which the lobsters were caught by locals. Keep it up, there a few kinks but nothing that can't be fixed very easily.

    Beet salad

Station 6 has great food, but the portions are crazy small. Check out my salad. It came with a burger for a whopping $23.00. It was about 3 mouthfuls of spinach. The beets looked like they were tore apart vs. cut to be presentable. It felt like robbery!

    No onion rings

Ordered works burger for take out, it's usually delicious. This time no onions rings and one onion on burger. super disappointing

Me and my girlfriend always wanted a great local bar and grill that we could go to with great atmosphere and amazing food that wasn't downtown. The food here and the atmosphwre is amazing. The nachos are the best ive ever had because of the loads of fresh veggies as well as the fresh (not greasy) fish and chips. Honestly try this place and you will not be disappointed. We hope it stays this consistent and positive! aside from the fantastic food, what would make us come back is: 1. active social media that promotes specials and deals and 2. promo deals such as wing wednesday, Sunday Funday and other festivities and deals that will bring us in - and bring our friends in as well. we will continue to come here for both food and drinks and drinks alone if it continues to produce high quality and fresh loaded food in a great atmosphere for young and old people alike.

    Bruschetta flatbread

Went with 2 girlfriends and found The rustic interior to be quite cozy and inviting. This is just what the Sprytown area needed. Our server was really friendly and helpful by recommending 3 shareables we ended up choosing: the bruschetta, donair dip, and the bacon guacamole. The best thing we had was donair dip, hands down. The least favorite was the guacamole; the kitchen could definitely improve upon this. Specifically, it needs a bit more limey zest and cilantro. Currently, it just tastes like a mashed up avocado. The bruschetta was excellent too. We split the shareables 3-ways, in terms of portion and cost, and left feeling quite satisfied. I'd definitely encourage a friend to check out this place

This was my severely disappointing 'hash'. The potatoes were deep fried and the veggies are barely there.

We went for brunch and we're totally disappointed. I ordered the hash, which sounds lovely on the menu. But what I got was half cooked deep fried potatoes with some barely there peppers and onions. For a place that is charging downtown prices and claiming to use local ingredients I felt very let down. You can get way better brunch in so many other places for less.

This new spot is gorgeously decorated with natural wood and industrial elements. The service is top notch and the kitchen is prompt and makes great food. There was a small indiscretion with my order and the server and kitchen staff handled things professionally and apologetically. I reccomend this place.

They've got a great selection of craft beers and cocktails--I went with the Purple Haze and really enjoyed it. Refreshing, balanced, and not overly sweet. For food, I ordered the Chicken and Waffle Sandwich, and wow--it was incredible. Super flavourful, perfectly cooked, and impressively held together even with the runny (and delicious) egg on top. My wife went with the New Orleans pasta, and we were really impressed by how accommodating the kitchen was with her dietary restrictions. They happily swapped out the chicken and ham for shrimp, and the dish still came out beautifully done. You can tell the chef really loves what they do--it absolutely shows in the quality and care of the food. It's easy to see why this place is a local favourite. They offer hard liquor as well and I wish they focused on local fair as well since Nova Scotia is producing some great spirits. Not much to find a fault here, if you like beer!
