First thing we noticed were the multiple levels of tracks built under the steel and glass canopy of the station. As others have pointed out what an amazing engineering design and operational efficiency! The beautiful interior of the station that greeted everyone upon arrival was quite the photo spot. Personally I preferred the departure side which was just as ornate but with significantly less people. Outside, a huge Ferris wheel was installed and blocked photos of the station exterior. Inside expect to find Starbucks and other fast or convenience food options, WCs and ticket office. It was easy just to walk from the station to the historic part of Antwerp through the diamond district or take public transportation. Well worth a visit even if not taking a train anywhere.

It is a smaller station, and under construction, but I still found it charming. I know the wall details are not what you want to know about, you want to know how efficient the trains are, and if there are any places to eat or drink...or any shopping. The buses drop you off right at the door if you ride the bus to the station, and there is a large bike park. I didn't see a car park, but I'm sure there is one. When we were leaving Gent we were on a tight leash with barley enough time to get to the platform to find which train to catch, which was a tad bit confusing, but we eventually got on the right line. I saw one coffee stand, but had to pass it up, in order to walk through all the construction, and climb the many stars to make it on time. On my way to the platform I didn't see any other types of shops. I'm sure there are some, but I didn't see any. There is a small glass encased "wait room" on the upper platform that we went into, because it was so cold this day, but it was freezing inside as well. I staying in it, just to keep the cold wind from blowing right through me, which really didn't help much, because the door had a gap, and didn't close all the way. Finally here comes our train....ah nice and warm. Train station does have wifi or else I wouldn't have been able to "check in" on Yelp. When construction is done I'm sure this station will be amazing.

During the peak hours, we benefited from having staff who helped explain how to purchase tickets, what the Train Plus option is: Well worth the Euro 6 cost since subsequent trips for the next 30 days are discounted and you don't have to repeatedly type in your name and date-of-birth. The signage is pretty straight forward, but since it's operating at full capacity it can get confusing. Thankfully workers are everywhere to assist! Everything flowed smooth for the most part. I think their rail system has been the easiest to navigate in Europe so far.

The largest terminal station in the Netherlands, with easy connections to Amsterdam, Rotterdam and Schipol. The station opened in the 1970s yet feels fresh and modern, with the recent renovation that was completed in 2017. Unlike most train stations in the Netherlands, you are able to get to most of the shops without a ticket or OV-chipkaart to pass through, the layout in terms of separating the shops and platforms is much more thought out here. There is a Starbucks inside the station with a small seating area, as well as a SPAR just outside the station, perfect for picking up essentials ahead of your trip. Easy to get around the station, and then exit towards the exciting The Hague Center. I would have expected more seats outside of the businesses inside the station, to sit while waiting for the train. 4*
