Once we got off the train in Bruges we went into a visitor center for maps. We were told it is a :25 walk to the Markt. We found a taxi stand & paid €10 and got here in 5 mi Discovered that there is a free shuttle from the market to the two minutes, 22 minutes and 42 minutes after the hour. Happily there were people in the station & on the tracks to confirm that tweeted getting on the correct train. read more

This station has not changed much in the past decade. It has a wide variety of coffee shop selections for your caffeine and bakery craving. Digital boards are everywhere that tell you which platform to catch your train. There are also vending machines for your snack needs. Clean bathroom is located at the end of the station that charges 50 cents per entry. Get your change ready. read more

Nothing fancy. Just a working station that services the town. It's teeming with tourists and townsfolk alike. Seemed like local teens hang out here, getting treats from the shops and riding their skateboards. Big signs were abundant, making trains and platforms easy to find. There are food shops here, so that comes in handy. Near the entrance/exit is the tourist office that is staffed by very friendly and helpful workers. One word of warning: the cobblestone grounds leading to town is a killer for your roll-aboard luggages. Those little wheels don't stand a chance! read more

Station Brugge is small and simple. Not many platforms. Check train times before you arrive -- I missed my hourly departure by 10 minutes. Staff was very helpful. At the ticket counter, the clerk asked for my age. I know I could've lied to get the lower rate but I'm a terrible liar so I did not. There's also shops and coffee if you need to kill time at the station. Starbucks was efficient and had electric plugs available. Trains seem to run on time. read more

I kind of have a thing about train stations, I'm obsessed with them but in a healthy way. This is a surprisingly large and efficient train station I guess designed to handle the hordes of tourists that come to visit this beautiful hamlet. The platforms can get a little bit crowded as a train full of tourists from Brussels is disembarking and it can take a long time to get to the lower level. The lines for the bathroom are epic, so if you're coming to visit I recommend walking into the village and stopping at the tourist center right by the first market. There's a restroom there that you can use for 40 euro cents and it's super clean and not crowded. Back to the train station, there are plenty of places to get something to drink, something to eat, something to read. The signs are clear and there are plenty of them so you won't get lost. read more

Nothing too exciting at Station Brugge. But it gets stars for its location: 15 minute walk to Town Centre or if you prefer there are buses right in front of the station. A 10 minute walk to our hotel which we stayed over for a night. There is also trains that goes directly to Brussels International Airport (BRU) which is super convenient if you have a flight to catch! Good luck trying to find a washroom in the wee hours in the morning before 6 am. I was going around looking for me and all of them were locked or still closed at that time. There are a few coffee shops including Starbucks located inside the station. read more

Serviceable station acting as the gateway to the Venice of Belgium. Quite a contrast leaving Antwerp which may be the most beautiful of all European train stations. All things considered the station is well organized, fully staffed with friendly people and efficient. read more

My husband and I went to Brugge for a day trip from Paris. The locals were lovely except for 2 train station employees. The information on my return ticket to Paris didn't match in the information board so I approached an employee to confirm which track I needed. There were 2 other people trying to confirm the same information. He spoke to them in a condensening manner and told them "all you need to do is look at your ticket then look at the board". They tried to explain the discrepancies but he walk away into an office. Because of the encounter I witnessed, I decided not to ask either.My second experience of bad customer service was the lady who monitors the toilets. I approached the toilets, with exact change in hand, and in front of me were 2 young adults. They were digging through their wallets trying to find the money to pay for the toilet usage. I went around them, since they were not ready. The toilet lady pointed to me to get back in line, which I did but them she motioned for the lady behind me to go ahead of me, even in gront of one of the girls still looking for change. Came to Brugge by train from Paris. It was incredibly easy and took about 2 hours in total to get from Paris to Brussels to Brugge. The station is open for the most part and arranged by station. Match your train number to the departure station on the board much like you're getting on the plane. If you happen to get there early, there are seats available. There are also covered seats available as well for nonsmokers! I found this station to be particularly efficient, easy to get to/find and close to the downtown tourist area where you want to be. It's about a 10-15 min walk to the clock tower. Don't get food at the train station. There are so many great places within a short walk from the station that that would just seem silly. This station doesn't fit in with the rest of Bruges. It is a good example of modern horribleness and you'll be really depressed if you walk out of the wrong exit! Normally I might bemoan a dull 15 minute walk into a town centre, but here it is a mercy that the ugly step sister is hidden away a short pumpkin ride from the charming olde town that most of Bruges is (appearancewise). read more

This station is kind of older and has a limited selection of restaurants and only a few shops. It's a smaller station. At the time we passed through there was a Starbucks, one more coffee shop, a chocolate shop, clothing store, a Carrifour Express and two sit down restaurants in the lounge. If you're not in one of the restaurants then you won't find much seating. We stopped at the Exki where there was free wi-fi, lots of comfortable seating and a light breakfast for 2€. All of the platforms are upstairs but you can easily make it up with your luggage on the escalator. There is also an elevator at each platform next to the stairs. There are no validation machines, rather, your ticket is validated by an onboard attendant once your train leaves the station. Once you're up on the platform there is a small enclosed waiting area where you can find shelter from the cold. All in all it's an efficient station and easy to get through, but not many amenities to dazzle you. read more

If you are visiting Brussels then you have to take a tour of the town of Brugge - it is one of the most beautiful places in Belgium. The best way to get there is to take a train which is approximately an hour away from downtown Brussels. The trains run on time and are very clean, comfortable, and a smooth ride. The only weird thing about the Brugge train station and train is that you have to pay to use the restroom - who does that???? So walk with some change or you will have an unpleasant experience. The Brugge train station has a variety of small food places to eat which was very convenient. I had a good experience and it was very easy to navigate to get to your train. read more

It is a train station simple as that. Wifi available in some pats but not others. Close enough to the town centre that it is an easy walk or short bus trip No train strike makes a day trip to Brugge so much easier, regular trains to Brussels too. read more

When you have to go, you have to go. I'm not talking about the train station, but the pay to play bathroom (€0.50). Do yourself a favor and pick up a Bruges map at the Info Center by the right of the exit. If you are going back to Brussels Midi, it is noted as Brussels Centraal in the return schedule or Genk on the train board (good luck finding anyone in the station to confirm any of this). read more

The railway station is big. Looks lovely as soon as you walk out the doors. Clean. Nice wee shops. The fact this station was have a few hundred million passing here every year, is so cool how it still looks great. Not one thing bad to say about here. read more
