Had cause to stay here for a week not so long ago on business. march isnt exactly a hotbed of five (or four, or even three) star hotels, so its slim picking where you can stay.
This place though, was much better than I imagined it might be. Its a reasonably small family run establishment with a few bedrooms (I think I was the only guest at the time) located, as the name suggests, by the side of the towns small railway station.
The rooms were comfortable and adequate, the breakfasts were fantastic - and they even accomodated me getting up at a stupid time of morning and having an early breakfast for work purposes.
The bar area takes up most of the floorspace, and while the locals are a little insular at the best of times, it was reasonably friendly, and service was always with a smile.
The price for a five night stay was particularly reasonable, and I;d certainly go back again if I was in the area. read more
