It's a fun little boutique located near favorite spots like Spoon and stable and fairgrounds coffee shops. It has a collection of items that aren't from a same designer and quite high in quality and price but very good looking items. On my first random stop by, I found my new favorite two gloves, which match my outerwear perfectly and they're warm, look and feel amazing. I also got a fancy jacket here. Prices are high here but the quality is good. For my personal taste, some items are targeted for much older women, but you can find something here. The reason I gave 3 stars is cause of the stuck-up service. She was slow, checking you out top to bottom, super slow to ring me up and takes forever to just wrap and put in the bag. And there were people waiting behind me. If they up theirs service quality, it could really be a favorite spot for many people. read more

The North Loop is becoming quite a nice little shopping district, eh? One advantage they have is that they fill a different price niche than some of the other boutiques in the neighborhood. In comparison to nearby shops (Arrow, etc.), I think this is going to be the most affordable. I would have to sell an organ to make a purchase at Arrow, but here I could get away with selling only a small appliance on Craigslist. The layout of the space is long and then opens up in the back (it's surprisingly big, considering the small storefront). You won't find designer merchandise here, but you can find some trendy, cute things. I'd liken it more to Primp. I didn't find anything to buy after browsing, but my friend found a few work-appropriate cardigans and we really liked their handbag selection. There are also a few gift-appropriate items like candles and jewelry, so you Yelp Shops Local participants will have no trouble around the holidays! read more

I had a couple super strange interactions here a couple weeks ago. I bought a couple scarves and some sunglasses. I wanted to return them the next day before I went out of the country for 10 days (because my life IS that fantastic). I went. And the joint was closed during the posted open hours. Strangely, this is not the infraction that makes me inclined to rate them so lowly. I got back to the lovely United States, grateful for hot water heaters and nice mid-level hotels. I brought my things to return after the 14 day return period and forgot my receipt. When they told me I could return it for store credit, I said, I think not!, went home, ate, slept and got the receipt the next morning and went back. It was funny. I was greeted with a less than welcoming 'tude and was begrudgingly refunded on the two items that still had their tags on. The third, I must have removed the tag, and so I kept it. [Funny enough, it's become my absolute go to scarf...] I mentioned that I had a text with a photo and timestamp of the store being closed. The clerk said, "I'd love to see that." While getting the return I looked up my text to my friend Jesse, with whom I was communicating that day I was leaving the country and it said something like, "this stupid store is closed again! During open hours!" with a picture of the open hours sign. Because that's how I live my life now. I send pictures of everything. But I digress. Her response to the photo was, "wow. You really covered your bases." To which I could only respond, "yes, I suppose I do." Then I apologized for any inconvenience I'd caused her and went on my way. I'm sure I know her mom or sister or something, but really, that's ok. Behavior is behavior and we each make choices on how to behave every day. It's a bummer because I really liked some of the accessories and clothes there. And it's fun to swing by after a nosh at Moose and Sadie's and check things out. I stopped in Statement Boutique after brunch- where I suspect many of it's customers come from. I thought it was cute, but could tell right away that it was overpriced because of the trendy North Loop location. The jewelry seemed really fun and semi-unique, but the clothing was only okay. I doubt I'll be back unless something in the window catches my eye while I'm at brunch again. read more

This shop new women's clothing and accessories shop is in a good position to do something interesting. But, if there is a "statement" being made so far, I can't make out what it is. The selection on hand is a modest variety of mid to low priced tops, dresses and skirts in synthetic fibers, made in China, along with a few accessories, and some gifts and home decor. In the back I came across a rack of yoga/beach inspired sports wear on sale and I picked up a couple of nice basics at 30% off. Besides these good quality basics nothing here caught my eye and this is the problem. In my mind this is a cute shop in an up and coming neighborhood flanked by a lot of foot-traffic creating neighbors. This block is buzzing all day with fashionable ladies in creative careers. I would love to see this place make a bolder statement with some fashion-forward, better quality options. read more

I love this place! I stop in every couple of months because they are always adding new things. It's boutique prices but not outrageous - think $75-125 for a nice blouse. There's always a couple sale racks in back with TREMENDOUS deals. My favorite things about it are the local jewelry designers that they stock (Stacey Johnson is a fav) and the owner who is super helpful and instinctively knows the right ratio of how much to help and how much to leave you alone! read more

Before I visited Statement I didn't even realize how cool the Warehouse District was becoming. There are all sorts of goodies tucked away in there! The store is bright and friendly with a variety of clothes and gifts. It is nice to go into a boutique without my jaw dropping at a price tag. I also appreciate the owner's interest in local goods. We stopped by Statement Boutique recently and found it to be a value-added shopping experience. Well displayed merchandise, friendly knowledgeable staff, fair prices. Love this store! This store is my go-to store for travel clothing and jewelry gifts. I travel internationally for my job, so I need lightweight, easy-care clothing that is inexpensive enough that I don't care if it gets ruined en route. I loved the clothing I bought for my Spain trip so much (I think I wore the elliptical dress no less than 5 times during my trip!) that I sent my co-worker there, as well. She, too, fell in love with the store and stocked up for her travel clothing. Because many of them are synthetics, I never have to iron them, and they pack down well in a suitcase. Plus, I love Stacey's jewelry. It's unique, she has tons of new designs, and they are gorgeous. I buy them as gifts, and (more frequently than I should), for myself! My latest favorite find is a rough sapphire, surrounded by bright crystals. It's on an oxidized silver chain, which is key since my nickel allergy prevents me from wearing cheap metals. In other words, Stacey uses very exquisite materials to produce one-of-a-kind pieces that I'll be wearing for life. Her prices are absolutely within reason, so it's easy for me to buy them as gifts and to stock up on my own jewelry, too. read more
