Well, so far, I am thrilled…read more In 2019, we had 6 windows, 2 sliders, and a steel front door installed in our home in California. So, I knew what to expect with regards to window purchasing this time. I actually called another competitor and had an estimate yesterday, and an estimate today with Window World. I immediately went under contract with Window World. Here's why: 1) I wasn't *required* to have my husband present (wtf year do we live in, Feldco?) 2) My sales rep, Brad is awesome 3) The price I was quoted is the price I had already deemed appropriate. (Feldco quoted me $1800 over that amount.) The *only* downside is the 4-8mos wait. BUT, every product is custom made and it gives me time to save up the remaining funds. I opted to pay cash/check and avoid the 3% service fee; saving me about $100. I did half down now, and the other half due at completion. This is standard operating procedures for contracted work. I'll update accordingly as we progress forward. Side note: previous home owners had installed all windows with window world as well, and for $150 I was able to acquire the lifetime warranty.

If you are female and don't want to deal with a raging contractor, I would advise not to get siding…read morefrom here. I regret trusting them as I thought they did an awesome job with the windows. How they allow livid contractor to talk to paying customers like he does is WILD. I found 2 other women on Nextdoor with similar experiences. I am now worried that siding wasn't properly taped as another one had the city come by to stop them installing. Maybe have a guy friend with you if you want to deal with the hostile siding guy, but his snotty, ragey phone call after I found issues with the installation were uncalled for. He also texted at 9:45PM in an angry tone. I 100% regret going with them, and if you want to walk on eggshells when you find issues and point them out, this is the place for you. Sabrina in the front office is amazing though, she's too good for the place. She didn't gaslight me or made me feel like an issue. Window World was also $6000 more than the 2 other quotes I had, but I was scared to go with smaller companies.

I've hired Shawn before over the last 10 years, leaving 5 star reviews. One you can see here 7…read moreyears ago. Additionally, I've also had a close professional relationship with him for 15 years. Unfortunately, things have changed and, while this pains me to do this, I must leave an honest and forthright review of the ahocking difference working with Shawn was this year. That being said, I am not sure what has happened to Shawn, but he is no longer the craftsman with attention to detail as he was in the past. I hired him again this year to replace my front door and install three new windows in the front of my house. Easy job, right? Not with Shawn. He was rude, cussed violently at me and in front of my tenants while doing the work with fits and bouts of angry outbursts that took us all aback. He was so hard to work with - demanding and, worse, didn't even finish the job. I had to constantly ask him for months if he was going to finish, he would promise a day to come out, multiple times, and never show. He left my windows on the inside completely messed up, filled HUGE gaps with unsightly large amounts of spray foam on top and gaps on the sides, telling me "you're going to have to fix that." What?? He tried telling me it was my house and he has never seen window framing like mine (I am not sure how Anderson replaced other windows beautifully in my home?) Plus, the windows from the exterior which he replaced don't match at all. I only needed one window replaced, but I decided to do all three so they would match the same for curb appeal. I now have three mismatched window screen frames and my curb appeal I was aiming for reduced dramatically because of it. The door? Where do I start? Same as windows, left unfinished. The inside is fine, but the exterior however was left unfinished and unsightly with the silver screws drilled in all over the place on cherry colored molding not covered with matching wood putty to hide, a trim piece left unfinished and sticking out under the threshold like a tacky sore thumb, and the brick siding next to my door has now huge gaps exposed and unsightly. He used clear caulking around the outside frame that just looks horrible, it should be the color of my house. When he finished installing, he said he was going to come back March 20 to finish it. Never showed. I contacted him when I found out it hadn't been done and he became rude and obnoxious but said he would do it. Never showed again. Contacted again, rinse repeat. He always had an excuse and, maybe you can guess, not his fault. Moreover, I paid more to Shawn to install than I would have if I had just paid Home Depot or ANY other contractor to do the job and probably have a finished job by now, six months later. Not a job left for me to finish myself. I've tried working with him. It's impossible. He just fights you until you give up, spends time throwing out excuses when he could have already had the job completed in the same time he spends dancing around. I am so disappointed. He used to be such a nice guy. Always has been rough around the edges, but was a sweet soul. Now? I don't even know who he is. His ethics and integrity have obviously been thrown right out the door. While his anger issues were surprising, and disturbing, I felt like once he got my money, he always had "sh!t to deal with in my life" or always had the excuse life was beating him down so he was too busy to mess with finishing or dealing with the issues he left. These things were obviously more important and time-consuming than completing his contract. Never again. I foolishly paid him the full contract before finished, to help him out, and he dipped. I've now had to hire a new contractor through Home Depot to finish the job, but I still have the mismatched windows in the front. Thanks, Shawn! Love ya old "friend."
