The owner waited on us and even asked how I broke my ankle (my CAM boot has been a great convo starter in our new hometown). Another thing I love is they sell Door County Coffee there . It looked like there was a little cafe seating area off to the side where I imagine the coffee shop is during the day. It was cute and smelled delicious. It's kind of like a gift store to an extent. If you find yourself in Onaway, stop on in and grab a delicious treat! You will be glad you did!!

My only request is that the…read moreingredient information for their fudge could be easily accessible to employees as the one we spoke to wasn't sure what kind of nuts were in some of them (I'm allergic to almonds but can eat other nuts), so I just didn't risk it. The Ice Cream Shoppe is THE place to go in the summer (and you better go a lot because it's only…read moreopen May-August!) It's a little shack right by the marina in downtown Cedarville, and you can eat your delicious cone or sundae out at the tables by the water - if it's sunset, even better! The shoppe always is well-stocked with three cases of rotating flavors of ice cream (Mackinac Island Fudge is always there, though!) plus plenty of specialty sundaes, shakes and malts to choose from. One of my family members orders a Heavenly Hill sundae (with hot fudge and Reese's Pieces on top) every time - yum! One scoop is $2 and two is only $2.50. Sundaes are a little more ($3.75-$4.75) but remember you're paying for the experience and the enjoyment of summer! They also serve hot dogs and other food-shack-type but I've never tried them. You can order from inside (standing room for only about 4 people!) or outside at the window but I think the inside is faster and you can see all the ice cream flavors. In the evenings there's usually a bit of a line but the girls who usually are working there are fast and friendly. Small little parking lot fits about 5-6 cars. There's a little slide where kids can play and a gazebo with extra seating, and it's just an all-around perfect experience to go out for ice cream in the summers in Cedarville!

Wood Winds has the look of an old school diner, with tasty pies available by the slice in a glass display. They also have excellent cookies and assorted nicknacks for sale. But the meals are the real attraction here. I ordered a Reuben, which I always do when I want to get a lay of the land. It was perfect, with generous stacks of corned beef, sauerkraut, and Swiss, and buttery crispy marble rye. My wife got the chicken fajita wrap. She normally orders any chicken sandwich plain, but she forgot to ask for no peppers and onions. She loved it, since they sautéed them. Sandwiches and wraps are served with perfectly crispy fries. Not a scrap remained of either meal. The price was reasonable, and the food was ready in less than 10 minutes. We'll definitely plan to visit here again, whether the dogs are with us or not.
