I booked my car transport from NY to CA through a broker, Flix Auto. They were great, although I didn't really understand the broker thing. I shipped a car before and the company i booked it with was the same company that picked up and shipped. This time was different and confused me a bit. The broker will find a shipper for you, arrange a price and set it up for shipping. The whole thing seemed strange to me as you pay on delivery and in cash. Seemed odd as in the past you pay before pickup. I didn't have a huge budget to spend and they quoted me a good price so I booked it. Anyway, It was only when the driver arrived for pickup that I learned the shipping company was starway. (The broker has no more involvement at this point). The driver did arrive, loaded the car and went on his way. The next day I looked up starway and as you would expect I got super nervous and concerned from all the reviews. I was a nervous wreck for a week thinking about the car. On day 3 of transit I called to see if I get an update on the car and get the drivers phone number so I could check in with him. I was told the car was still expected on schedule and they would call me back with the drivers number. Never got the call. I called a different number the next day and got someone else who quickly just said to text him and he'll find out. He did in fact text me back shortly after with the drivers name and number. The staff at starway don't speak very good English at all so it's kind of hard to speak with them so Mayby that's why they're eager to keep the calls short. A day before the scheduled delivery day I texted the driver as I was expecting a call from him the day before but didn't hear from anyone. He said he would arrive in CA The next day but would be at night and would let me know. I stayed in touch with him the next day trying to get an ETA. Around 6pm he texted saying he would be arriving around 11pm. That's really late for me as I get up very early for work, but I just wanted to get my car in my hands so I went with it. He arrived and my car was exactly as it left, huge relief. He got it off the truck, looked up my info on his phone, I paid him the agreed upon price (huge relief) and was glad it was over and all went well. So all said, they picked up my car, shipped it fast for a great price and it arrived safe. Customer service is a bit lacking, seems like they can't wait to get you off the phone but all in all they did their job and I can't really complain other than the week of sleepless nights reading the horror stories in the reviews. I'll give them 4 stars for lacking customer service since everything was ok other than that. Would I use them again? Prob not, I'd rather pay a few hundred bucks more for the peace of mind. read more

Horrible customer service. Good luck in getting someone to answer your questions when you call. Their drivers don't speak English at all nor do they understand basic stuff as well. My car was supposed to be here on a specific date, needless to say, the car never showed up nor no one from the company didn't bother calling me to let me know why my car won't be arriving on the date at all. Their attitude is "oh we close at 6pm." Also, one of the drivers stole my sunglasses, Apple iPhone charger and had my car smelling of cigarettes (and I'm not a smoker, nor have I ever had someone smoke in my car!). Turn out they never ever respond to the insurance despite call, Recommended mail ect. I transported a car from CA to NY. The car arrived with the entire back bumper SMASHED and a light MISSING. The driver graciously offered me $50 (SARCASM) to replace the light saying he saw one on ebay for that price. He completely disregarded the bumper, claiming it was "just plastic." The back of the car was loaded against the cab and clearly the driver had incorrectly loaded it so that it smashed against the cab and broke my bumper. The damage totaled over $1,000 by fixing the bumper and lights with junkyard parts. If I needed new parts, the damage would've been well over $4,000. I have contacted Starway every single day since the delivery and they have said "we will respond" and then have not responded. Leaving a review because I was concerned from the other comments prior to shipping. My car just arrived from the Bay Area to Philadelphia. There is no damage and it runs well. The logistics were a bit tough to nail down - they can be better about giving earlier notice, but overall, they kept communication open throughout the day, took all of my calls, and got back to me when I had a question. The driver, Alex, kept me informed and relayed comments to the office. Can you give zero stars? Absolutely one of the worst companies I have ever had the misfortune of dealing with. No joke this company is a complete scam. After purchasing a car from the Jaguar Landrover Freeport in NY, the dealership had offered to split the shipping fee. Well of course, they went and found the absolute cheapest solution that they could, which ended up being Starway Logistics. I honestly don't even know where to start. First off, the car arrived about 3 weeks late, filthy, with a broken coolant hose that almost overheated and blew the engine BEFORE I COULD EVEN DRIVE HOME. These people were almost impossible to reach and I even had them blatantly ignore me (like when you can tell a call is ignored vs going to the normal voicemail). This was after I started getting worried they decided to steal my car as it was WEEKS late with NO communication. Well of course, they denied any wrongdoing and were completely unable to contact them after they dropped off the vehicle. Speaking of the dropoff, instead of dropping off at my home address after work as was discussed - I received a call while working at the hospital that they were 20 minutes away and that I needed to go out now to claim the car, or they would leave. I just had the most amazing experience with this company. I had a very tight sliver of time during which i needed my car delivered. They really jumped through hoops to make it work. In addition they were very communicative with me by text every day so that I could be reassured that it would happen on time. The driver was super pleasant upon drop off. Prior to filing this complaint, two emails and 4 phone calls were made with no response. On Friday, May 20, 2022, we picked up our Lexus ES 350 at Starway Logistic (USDOT 2349082 /MC 804031) located at East M-Y Lane in Morrisville, PA. When we arrived, we were told the car was located in another lot which was 20 minutes away. We waited 1 1/2 hours for the car to be relocated to the lot where we were waiting. In retrospect, it is likely that the driver who transported the car to us (he was also the driver who picked up the vehicle in Florida), was aware that something was seriously wrong with the car but never articulated the issue to us. Almost immediately after getting behind the wheel, I felt that something was wrong with the steering. As I tried to move from the middle lane to the right lane, the car spun out of control doing a 360 degree spin in busy traffic. Miraculously, no other car struck me. Luckily, my husband was following behind me and put his flashers on to warn oncoming traffic. Police responded and assisted us in getting the car off the highway where we contacted a tow company who took it to a repair shop. The mechanic who repaired the car stated that the rear lateral arms were bent. When we told him the car was transported by a car carrier, he automatically surmised that the car was erroneously tied down by the lateral arms which bent as the car traveled north. There is no doubt that the driver who drove the car from one lot to the other where we were waiting had to realize that something was seriously wrong with the steering. Regrettably, he chose to remain silent thus gravely endangering my life. The amount we have paid and are out of pocket is $874.48 which represents repair, towing (receipts attached) and gas/tolls expense. The contract called for the car to be delivered to our home in NY, but we were forced to drive 2 1/2 hours to PA. Although I would like to receive reimbursement for my out-of-pocket expense, my main goal is to report Starway Logistic and perhaps prevent a similar situation where the outcome could be much more serious. This is a corrupt company who refuses to accept responsibility, and they should be held accountable. read more

I can't speak to the other negative reviews but I had a very good experience with Starway. I transported my Honda CRV from New York to SF. I paid $1753 and had a top rack location. It was picked up on time Wednesday night and delivered the following Tuesday evening (6 days). A little dirty on the inside but probably just the gloves or sleeves of whoever was unloading it. Driver changed the delivery location but gave me 4 hours notice, and it was only a few miles from the original location I had proposed and honestly worked better for me. Driver was super nice and careful unloading the cars. Another couple was waiting for their car as well and said they had it picked up from NJ on Friday, which means this guy made it across the entire US in four days. Wow ! read more

I am absolutely not going to waste my time explaining my experience, as it is all the same pretty much as every one of these 1 star reviews. In a nutshell, we had our car transported from California to Maryland in November. We had no idea we were even dealing with a company called "Starway......." The biggest issue was that the car had oil all over it when delivered and damage to the top. When we contacted them we spoke to ELZA who said to send an email with pictures to file claim. Ofcourse we have not heard back and are having a hard time getting a hold of her. We were paired with Starway through NATIONWIDE MOVING SERVICES, another absolute S___show and nightmare that we will be dealing with after the new year. :-( All of the companies that Nationwide uses are shameful. Driver never appeared as scheduled, we kept calling him and he said he would appear at some point. Original pick up time was between noon and 2 PM. Driver eventually told us he was coming in the middle of the next night. After reading all the negative reviews on yelp and noticing that the Better Business Bureau gave the company a grade of F, we canceled with them. This whole experience caused a lot of inconvenience, because we stayed two extra days in Fresno for the pick up from my elderly in-laws apartment. Now we are starting over from scratch. Starway is dispatched by Montway for my shipment from PA to CA. Initially I am honest scared by the reviews I see from Yelp and Google. These reviews are pruned to selection bias, people that left reviews often had extremely bad experience. However we don't know how frequent are these occurances. My experience has been very good. I feel it's fair to leave a positive review. My vehicle is shipped on Thursday and arrived the next Monday. There is no additional or hidden cost other than what we paid Montway. Our driver Lado is very friendly and easy to communicate with. Our vehicle arrived without problem and there's no issue with the items store in the car either. One thing to note is that they ship with a big semi with oversize load. I was asked to drop off and pick up my car at near by locations that have large parking spaces. Overall, with Montway in the middle at least, it has been cheap, fast and no hassle. read more

In July 2018 I relocated to Hawaii and paid Starway LogisticS LLC to ship by truck my Jeep Cherokee from Brooklyn, NY to the Maddson's Port in Long Beach California. My contract allowed for me to ship it with up to 100 pounds of personal items. So my family packed the things I would need to sustain me for my yearlong stay which included my tailored clothing, shoes, jewlry, camera equipment, printer, gifts from my family and family momentous. When I picked up my car from the post, ALL of my $10,000 of possessions were missing. When I contacted Starway Logistics LLC, they tried to tell me That Maddson threw my items in the trash. MaddSon who's is a reputable company refused to accept my car for shipment with personal items as per their policy, and turned the driver away. When the driver returned with my car, he dilivered empty. No one from Starway Logistics LLC contacted me to alert me that my possessions in the car were removed by the driver. No one contacted me to let me know where my belongings had been stored. No one from Starway Logistics asked me how I'd like to have my belongings shipped to me in Hawaii. They just allowed their trucker to steal, or dump $10,000 of my possessions, some of which were irreplaceable, like it was nothing. This is unacceptable, unprofessional, unethical, unconscionable, and down right criminal! As of this moment, I've phoned and written the company and am still waiting for the results of their investigation as to how the driver they contract with has been held accountable and when the items I entrusted in their care will be returned to me. I would have given them no starts. Who in their right mind would pay Starway Logistics $1,400 to ship merchandise only to lose $10,000 worth of possessions. I called Montway transport to ship my car from CA to NY. My order was placed 12/18/2020 for a pickup in CA during the dates of 1/7/2021 through 1/12/2021. While booking the reservation, I explained to Montway that I was moving from San Francisco on 1/14/2021 and needed my car gone before this date. They said this info was provided to Starway Logistics and they would contact me to arrange a pickup between 1/7 and 1/12. Montway also told me I was guaranteed to have my car picked up before 1/14. I called the dispatcher at Starway on 1/7 to confirm my pickup, no answer. I called again on 1/8, 1/9, 1/10, 1/11, 1/12 and no answer. I called the driver from Starway directly on 1/12. He was very nice and he said he was on his way to San Francisco and would pick up my car at 10:00 at night. I said that is fine. He called later that night and asked if he can reschedule to the next day 1/13 and I said fine. I finally heard back from the dispatcher the following morning of 1/13. He said the driver can no longer make it to my apartment on 1/13 and promised that my car would be picked up the morning of 1/14 between 8am and noon. I also heard back from Montway on this day and they told me Starway requested an additional $100 to have my car picked up!!!! I agreed as I was leaving San Francisco the next day and at this point I had no other choice.... I advised Montway that this was cutting it very close to when I had to leave San Francisco and this service is unprofessional. I called Montway transport at noon on 1/14 saying that the driver had not arrived yet. Montway called me back saying the dispatcher from Starway is on the other line and requested a 3 way call. The dispatcher comes on the line SCREAMING at me saying I am making his company look bad and that I am trying to rush his driver. Meanwhile I placed my order on 12/18/2020 and I was guaranteed a pickup between 1/7/2021 and 1/12/2021. I kindly explained to the dispatcher how I needed to leave San Francisco ASAP as I already gave my apartment keys to my landlord and I had a flight booked to NY in a few hours. He did not care. He told me if I wanted my car picked up today I will have to meet the driver on the other side of San Francisco at a BMW dealership. I met the driver at the BMW dealership and dropped off my car. Again, he was very nice. Dispatcher was still VERY RUDE and UNPROFESSIONAL. My car arrived in New York fairly quickly (by the next Thursday 1/21). I test drove the car around the block right after it arrived and everything seemed fine. I did not drive the car on Friday 1/22. On Saturday 1/23, I drove the car 5 miles away to the local shopping mall. On the way back the car started making loud noises every time I drove over a bump or turned the steering wheel. I then contacted Montway immediately and Montway said I would have to open a claim with Starway. Starway would not reply to my emails and phone calls. Montway took 4 days to respond to my numerous emails and apologized for the delay. They said they had finally heard back from Starway and they denied the claim and would not pay to have my car repaired. After 1 week I brought my car to the nearest mechanic and had to pay hundreds of dollars to get the sway bar underneath my car replaced. This was obviously damaged during the shipment and Starway would not own up to it. This has been one of the worst customer service experiences I have ever dealt with and I would NEVER recommend Starway Logistics to ANYONE unless you want to risk not having the car picked up on time, be asked to pay more money at the last minute, be SCREAMED at by an incompetent auto dispatcher, and want their car damaged without reimbursement for repairs!!!! read more

Do not ship your vehicle with Starway Logistic. I have photos of my vehicle when loaded on the Starway transport in perfect condition. When it was delivered it had massive dents and scratches in the roof. Additionally, the driver intentionally waited until it was completely dark to deliver the car so it would be more difficult to see damage had occurred. No one returns phone calls, emails, or anything. The front desk only says there is nothing they can do. If you use Starway logistic you are risking your vehicle and you can expect no support. read more

I was so scared seeing all the reviews for this company, but I figured it's a risk with whichever transporting company I went with. My car was being transported from Bay Area, California to Tennessee. They were punctual and very nice. They met me on the main road behind my house, not a big deal to me because it's totally understandable that having a huge transporter truck in a residential street may be difficult and it took me like a minute to walk back to my house. My car was picked up on a Sunday afternoon and arrived Wednesday morning, just like the estimated dates in same like condition which is what I was mostly worried about. All of my personal items were in my car at delivery too. If I ever move back to CA, I will definitely go with this company again!! This was the first time I have ever shipped my car, and this carrier was completely unresponsive and awful. I was moving from California to Virginia, and I decided to book with Montway (the broker company) because they had "good" reviews. I was told that Starway Logistics was their usual carrier company. First things first, my car was picked up 1 day earlier than the 5 day window (for reference, Monday). I got a phone call 3hrs before pickup (NOT 24hrs like I was originally told), and was not prepared and had to rush to get it ready with gas and store some items in the trunk. The driver assured me that the car would be still delivered in my desired time frame. THEN, I received a call on Thursday that it was going to be delivered FRIDAY (I wasn't going to be in Virginia until next Monday, and my delivery window was that Monday/Tuesday). The driver told me I could Zelle the money and he would leave the car at a hotel, but I had already withdrawn the cashier's check and couldn't just void that. The driver was very unprofessional and tried to bully me into accepting his terms and was very rude, but I COULD NOT accept this since I didn't trust my car to be left totally unattended for 3 extra days and the money was already withdrawn and written out to Starway Logistics, I couldn't get it back. This was unacceptable, and after calling Montway, I was assured that "it would be taken care of" to be in my timeframe. I left a Montway-oriented review on Montway's Yelp page already, so I will try to keep the rest of this review about Starway Logistics. My shipment did not arrive by my Tuesday window, and after calling Montway multiple times every day my car kept getting delayed for no explained reason. Even though my confirmation booking email said I could track my shipment and call Starway for help, their phone numbers were either void or had a full mailbox, and they never called me back even when I was able to leave a voicemail. They were completely off the radar so I had to go back to Montway for updates (which I wasn't able to get). Finally on Friday afternoon, the Montway service member I was speaking to at the time gave me a new phone number for the current driver (which leaves me to believe that my car never moved between Thursday and the following Friday, even though I was told the shipment was just "delayed" and not just completely stalled). The driver told me they could try and get the car delivered by late Friday night, but it was unlikely since the shipment before me was not responding to their calls, so they would have to stop at that location before continuing. Come Saturday morning, my car finally arrived, 4 days after the window that Montway promised me. Thankfully, my car was still in one piece, although absolutely filthy (but I guess you expect that with open carrying). I don't know whether this issue started with Montway or Starway Logistics since the latter is actually the one that transports the car, but I suggest staying away from both companies. read more

Horrible Shipping Company!! I originally booked to ship my car with Taylor Swain of Vantage Car Shipping or Carshippingamerica.com , which contracted the job to Starway Logistics. We were initially quoted $1,100 for NY to CA and it would take 1 week. This changed to a deposit of $200 and $1,100 being the balance. We were told by Taylor of Vantage Car Shipping that it was ok to pack the car with items on the seat as long as "you can see through the windows." When the car was picked up in NY the driver said there would be an additional $150 charge since there were items in the car. We paid our deposit with card and was told we can also pay the balance with card. The car was picked up the day we arranged for pickup. They did not give an approximate time for pickup just said it would be after noon. The car was picked up at 6pm Monday evening. Saturday we called for a status update on when the car would arrive. We were told Monday or Tuesday, and the driver would call 24hrs before. We received no call Sunday so we called the driver Monday morning and was told the car would arrive Tuesday. The drivers that dropped the car off were friendly. The car was delivered with very minimal damages. Slightly bent license plate in the front and light scratches. All items were in the car (there was nothing of much value to begin with, pillows kitchenware etc.) We attempted to pay with card and the driver told us they don't accept card and we would have to speak to the manager over the phone ... The man proceeded to yell! "It was in the contract that we only accept CASH ONLY. You are a liar! You are trying to get away without paying. You have ten minutes to get me my money or I will take your car to storage. No money order, no checks, cash only" I was in shock. I couldn't believe he was talking to me like this. I immediately called the company that contracted with Starway (Taylor) and was told that if I wanted to pay with card i should have called two days before the car arrived so that the payment has time to clear. I told Taylor that was never explained to me when I made the deposit, and if It was i would have said why would i pay in full? What evidence do i have that my car will be delivered in one piece? At that point i would have chose to go with another company. I had no choice but to go to the atm to get cash for this company. I do not recommend shipping with them. read more

If I could give this place 0 stars I would. I hired Starway to transport my vehicle from Delaware to California. As a week went by and the vehicle never arrived I GPS'd my vehicle at a body shop. I contacted Starway (Manu) and asked him why my vehicle was there and he said he didn't speak English and didn't know why. I went down to the business where my car was located and discovered that Starway damaged my brand new 2019 vehicle and attempted to take it to a shady collision shop in an attempt to deceive me. I'm glad I caught this before hand. Elza promised she would take care of the damages in a few hours a day after the incident. This happened over two weeks ago and no there has no no resolution between me and Starway. They've caused over $10k in damage to my brand new vehicle. THIS COMPANY IS A COMPETE JOKE. My broker contracted with Starway to move a BMW cross country, it made it unscathed (which is miraculous), but I would NEVER use these guys again, if you use them you are taking a risk. You get what you pay for, these guys are cheap for a reason. They don't care about the cargo, they don't care about the schedule, just expect a cranky driver that seems low on sleep and isn't on time, once I watched him load up it's no surprise these guys have a lot of damage complaints, the driver was yelling at the broker on the phone, the driver was a hot head and unreasonable pretty much every time we interacted. I called Montway transport to ship my cars from nj to ca. A couple of days later I received a call stating they found a driver that can take my cars. He told me it would take 6 to 9 days to deliver my cars. But when I met with the driver he told me it would be quicker because he has a co driver. I explained to the driver that I won't be in ca until Sunday. The driver said ok. Saturday afternoon I received a call from the driver, he arrived a day early. It took these guys 3 to 4 days to arrive to ca. That's not bad. They driver did charge me $200 extras for stuff in the cars. Even though Montway transport said I could back up to 150 lbs in the car. Things to know. Your car will get dirty. If you use a open carrier. You have to pay the driver in cash or a cashier check. The company will take a deposit. With your credit card. My cars weren't deliver to my address. I had to meet the drivers at a Parking lot. And they drove them over for me. If you're not there pick up your cars. You can sign a waiver and have them Leave it there. I don't think that's a good idea at all. I hope this review helps someone. read more

Worst communication. Thought my car had been stolen. Car arrived two days late by the grace of god. Actual truck driver was knowledgeable. This place doesn't even let you leave voicemails (says the mailbox is full). read more

I actually went with a company that found a company to transport my car, when they advised me Starway was transporting my car I immediately went on yelp to see what people were saying and was very concerned after seeing so many yelp reviews. Most people who come on here though come to complain and not talk about the good so that makes sense. However, Starway did an amazing job at transporting my vehicle! They picked it up in CA and made it all the way to TN with no damage. The driver kept me updated on any delays that occurred and assured me my vehicle was in great condition whenever he would call. If I ever make a cross country move again I would happily go with this company no questions asked. read more
