For me, corner stores like this get a 'yay' or 'nay' based on the quality and selection of their bulk candies. In that sense, Red Rooster did well. At least they did when I frequented them, although it's been many a'moon since I've called White Rock home. I also found that they stocked Haagan Dasz Rocky Road icecream, which is not only the most delicious icecream ever, but it's also near impossible to find at any of the grocery stores in White Rock. Chocolate, nuts, marshmallows - what could be better? This one also doubles as a video store, which I think is just odd. Lucky day for me, because Red Rooster is a fare dealer as well, so I was always able to get my bus pass the day I REALLY needed it without having to haul my sorry self all the way uptown. They close up shop around 10pm or so, and after that you have to walk up to the 24 hour Mac's on the highway. Boo.

It will be alot more expensive filling up across the border! The store has a bunch of candy and snacks at very reasonable prices. We picked up two large bags of coffee peanut M&Ms for $3.50. They have one restroom here and its pretty clean. One weird thing is they have this funky paper towel roll arranged in a loop for drying your hands. Not sure how they're supposed to keep it self-cleaning.
