Dr Jen was so gentle and patient with my daughter. She explained everything and the experience was great for my daughter. Every room has a TV with great kids movies to hole keep the kids happy during the procedure Would recommend this dentist to everyone. I absolutely LOVE Starship Pediatric Dentistry. Everyone from the moment you walk in makes you feel comfortable easing the anxiety the kids and parents feel going to the dentist. The decoractions are carefully selected, top notch and very detailed. Both children and adults love it here. The best feeling you have as a parent is knowing your child is in great hands. The compassionate and loving way in which they care for your child makes any adult wish they could be a patient here. My kids love to watch stuff on the tv while being at the dentist. The people there are nice to me and my daughters. My 7 year old and 10 year old is always excited to pick out a toy at the end. My kids also enjoy going on the iPads when they are waiting for there appointments. The dentist has been an amazing experience for my kids. read more

Just be warned they will charge you a $50 cancellation fee if your child wakes up sick that morning. What's bothersome is they are always completely booked with a call list and could easily fill any open appointment. Seems greedy when you would think they would want to avoid illness spreading through the office rather than kids going in sick to avoid the cancellation fee. Also the policy is not made known anywhere in the office so it comes as a surprise. At least they could try to fill the appointment first before charging the $50. read more

Absolutely horrible. The male doctor here is horrible. He should never work with kids. He shows no sensitivity to a child's fear, keeps going after the child indicates to stop, and does not listen to anyone. So guess what, after waiting 6 months for our appointment with the female doctor, the office changes our appointment without our consent to the male doctor. They do not tell us anything. Just waiting to surprise us when we show up. Maybe that is the only way he can get clients. Well, not this daddy. I cancelled our appointments and will go elsewhere. read more

My son LOVES going to Starship Pediatric Dentistry. The staff is amazing and they walk him through all the procedures so he knows exactly what's happening and so he's comfortable. He can touch the tools and gets a tutorial. Also, the decor is so fun! There are lights, sounds, games, comics and when he's finished, he gets an awesome toy. After he's finished, he wants to hang out at the office and continue to play and look around. I mean "come on!". The staffs are friendly, accommodating, caring and professional. My 2yo daughter's gum was swollen and bleeding a lot. We urgently needed to bring her in asap and understanding the urgency of the situation, the office compassionately offers to see my toddler the next day. As a first-time parent, I was terrified to the bone seeing my toddler gum bleeding and you don't know what caused it. Both Dr. Berdahl and Dr. Wilbur examined her and concluded it was most likely gingivitis. They said its nothing to worry about after seeing how terrified I was but also don't be complacent and doing a better job brushing her teeth. About a week later, they called to followed up as promised and truth to their words her gum stopped bleeding and swollen is gone after doing a better job of brushing her teeth. Their compassion and expertise really show in this experience. These two traits are what makes the best doctors! Thank you for the wonderful service! As a small business owner nearby, I will be referring many clients to your office! BTW the kids seem to enjoy their Starship theme. It is inviting and non-intimidating for the kids. This place needs new employees. Every employee has awful service, and doesn't know what they are doing. I had to bring my son in to fill a tooth and they did it and now it cracked. Every time they make my son go through so much pain and he cries on the way back home. The prizes are junk and are good for kids, but for parents like me they are junk and are not worth it. the doctors need to do their job better because they are telling my son the wrong thing. read more

My 15 month old daughter fell and lost two teeth, one of which fell out and one of which had to be removed. I cannot say enough about how Dr. Jen and the staff at Starship came to our aide. It happened after hours, and Dr. Jen gave us her cell number and walked us through a very traumatic experience. She saw us first thing the next day and everyone in the office was kind, patient, and helped calm us through the process. Dr. Jen was warm yet thorough. She called to check in later on the day. My daughter was very nervous but was quickly relaxed by the unique spaceship design if the dentist. The dentist was great and did a great job with my daughter...talking to her often. We went in today to have my three-year-old tooth filled as he had the start of a cavity. I was nervous about how he was going to react to the entire procedure and I really wasn't sure what was going to happen if they had to numb him if they were going to give him laughing gas or anything. They explained everything before they started they counted his teeth with him, They explained what they were going to be doing they let him feel the machines and how they were they had a TV there for him to watch TV to help keep them occupied they talk to him the entire time reassuring him and complementing him on his you know good job and being so still and listening and I know I just being a good. I highly recommend anyone with small children who are nervous or even a little bit older children are nervous to see this dentist they are absolutely amazing. they're wonderful, their staff is wonderful everybody's just so kind and courteous and really take the time to reassure the kids that what they're therefore is not scary and they end up walking out of there smiling and happy and you know with a nice little prize. read more

This place is magical for kids. The office was extremely helpful and buttoned-up, and Dr. Sky and his dental assistant were excellent with my kids, aged 3 and 5 at the time. This place is magical. My 6 year old has had a lot of dental work done in the past 6 months including a tooth extraction (not a fun experience) yet he was jealous that his brother got to go to the dentist today and not him (first appointment for my 3 year old and it was a breeze). My daughter has had 3 fillings, a crown, and an extraction; and she's only 5! The first dentist wouldn't do white fillings (worried about mercury in silver ones), the second told us to "just let him do his job" and didn't like us asking questions at Flanders Pediatric Dentistry. Dr Sky has been so good to her. They have gone above and beyond. They don't keep her long, they have movies while they work on her, they order the right tools when needed, flavor things, have gifts, and they involve the parents. After bringing one of our daughters to our dentist and having a not-so good experience we were in the market for a kids dentist. Luckily, we happened to meet one of the owners of Starship in the area at Bottle Hill day and figured we would give it a whirl. Boy am I glad we did.. My wife and I brought both of our kids to Starship Dentistry and we echo all of the previous Yelpers above. Starship makes your visit as easy as possible in reference to providing paperwork and ensuring insurance approval in advance. When it comes to the actually dentistry work Dr Sky has an amazing demeanor with the kids and actually has them excited about going back - even when knew she was going to get a cavity fixed. We have referred at least 2/3 people to Starship and I don't think there is a higher recommendation than that. Trust me your kids will thank you later. read more

Starship PD is an amazing place to take a child. It's too bad they don't take adults too. I brought my toddler in for his first ever visit, and this is a child that barely even lets me look in his mouth. He sat still and was not afraid at all. The Dr explained everything to him, showed and demonstrated all of the equipment on his hand first, and made the experience totally painless and fun. Not to mention, the whole office is decked out like the Starship Enterprise, from a greeting when you open the door, to the iPads, to the full size astronaut holding a toothbrush. The attention to detail is really very impressive and its a great distraction for any child. I highly recommend this place for children of any age. read more

Our boys started to chant "Dr Sky, Dr Sky" as soon as we pulled into the parking lot. The waiting room is as kid friendly as it can get. They have several iPads loaded with kid games and shows, have a kid movie playing on a large TV, have books available, and lots of vintage toys around to check out and keep the kids occupied. Each exam room has private TVs for the kids to watch and is decorated to keep the spaceship theme. The kids fought over who got to get into the examination chair first! read more

We really love this dental office. I bring my 5 year old and 2 year old. The office staff is professional, courteous and patient. The dental hygienists make my extremely shy 5 year old at ease and do not try and force anything- I am so appreciative of that because I want the dentist to always be a good experience. We have had regular cleanings here in addition to an emergency dental visit because my two year old lost his front tooth. The office took us immediately and put us at ease with the care. read more
