The pictures on their website and on Trip Advisor were great and we could tell that we were going to be staying at a really cool place. Boy were we surprised upon arrival. The pictures do not do this place justice as the property is stunning and the house is spectacular. We stayed in the Patio Suite, but upon arrival, we were greeted by Gary, one of the owners, and he offered to show us the main level that has three full bedrooms and bathrooms, living room, gourmet kitchen, dining room and a full deck that has an amazing view of the Missouri River and farmland below as the house sits atop one of the highest points on 4th street. One of the bedroom suites even has a wheelchair accessible bathroom. Marsha and Gary have done such an amazing job decorating the house. The Patio Suite was like having a full size apartment to ourselves. When you enter, the bathroom is straight ahead. It offers a walk in shower and has a hot tub sized jacuzzi tub. This was such a nice feature to have at the end of the day after having a relaxing and fun day visiting the local wineries. To your left, there was a full living area with a couch, two chairs and an electric fire place. There was also a desk area as well. Off of that, was the bedroom area that had curtains you could pull for added privacy, in case you were sharing the suite for your stay. There was a kitchen area that had beautiful cabinets, a sink, mini fridge, microwave, toaster oven and many other conveniences. Marsha and Gary have beautifully decorated this suite with what appears to be items they have collected from their travels over the years. There is also a bookcase with many wonderful books and they also have a Bose CD player and many CDs to listen to while relaxing. As the name mentions, you have a covered patio off your suite with a beautiful view of the river and a grill as well. While there you are welcome to explore their gardens and also enjoy the fire pit that is located at the edge of the property overlooking the river. We will stay at Spirit Hill every time that we come back to Hermann as this was a fantastic place to stay and it is owned by fantastic people. We will recommend this to any friends or family making a trip to Hermann.

When we checked in, we were given a tour of both rooms and were able to settle in. Our room was on the first floor and had a nice, comfortable bed, numerous chairs in which to sit, a TV, and refrigerator (which was a plus). There were CDs and a player and also games, which we didn't use. The bathroom was large, and the shower turned out to have great pressure, which I love. My only complaint would be the scratchy towels. Everything else in the room was top notch, but the towels truly weren't. Another plus would have been to have somewhere to hang clothes. We truly could hear the water pipes from the rooms above us, which wasn't my favorite thing either. Upstairs rooms are probably more quiet. After a dinner in town, we brought our wine to the back patio and were able to sit with our friends enjoying the evening. Another couple was there and playing music a little louder than I would have preferred, but that's not an owner problem. There was tiramisu in our refrigerator which the owner had made, but we aren't really dessert people so didn't try it. Our friends liked it. Breakfast in the morning was very good. We started with decaf coffee, orange juice, and watermelon with grapes, strawberries and coconut. Scrambled eggs and caramel covered French toast were next and the French toast was excellent. I think I ate every bite. Fortunately it was a beautiful morning so we were able to dine on the patio. Location is very good as you can walk to many places in town. Due to the time of year we were there, many places were closed.

The beds are beautiful, comfortable and clean. The breakfasts are simply delicious and very nicely presented. Our hosts, Gary and Laurie, are two of the nicest people, they are welcoming, thoughtful and are attentive in helping you have a pleasant stay while visiting Hermann.

The location is perfect, one block to the trolley stop and walking distance to several other downtown restaurants and shops. We enjoyed dinner at the Black Walnut Friday which was homemade pasta and local wine. Saturday we enjoyed the trolley services before freshening up and attending Stonehill's annual Norton dinner. The bank bar below the suites was a great last stop of the night with live music and a celebratory drink. It closes at 11:00 which allowed us to head up for our lovely loft for a refreshing nights sleep. Constance was the most incredible host, she allowed us early check-in when we arrived to Hermann early afternoon Friday, and gave a quick tour of the loft and goodies she left for our weekend (homemade quiche and cinnamon rolls,yummy!!) Highly recommend a stay here, it was a very memorable weekend and perfect stay!

My parents decided last minute to join us on our trip to Hermann. I was worried about finding them…read morea place, but was happy to find that Serenity Place had rooms available. They only have 2 rooms with a shared bathroom, but the pricing is incredible. My parent's place was $75 (before taxes) per night along with a free breakfast. This place is relatively easy to find and a quick walk from downtown. My parents really enjoyed their stay. They found the bed extremely comfortable and noted that the staff were very attentive. My mother even got her first massage here and couldn't say enough great things about it. The massage was reasonably priced and the woman who provided the massage didn't let my mom leave until she was completely taken care of. The only reason my parents said that they would not give this place 5 stars is that the breakfast was not good. They were given a gift certificate to Lyndee's and they noted that the food didn't sit well with their stomachs and wasn't very tasty. Other than that, they raved about this B&B. I even plan to check this BNB out the next time I'm in town.

The house is beautiful and sits in the country on the southern tip of Hermann. It is only opened on the weekends and the owners are very personable and gracious. Two positives you don't see anymore. The breakfast was incredible. Ham, bacon, cinnamon rolls the size of a human face, fruit, cheesy potatoes, and cheesy asparagus. All delicious. The house broke ground in 2007. They are making additions as an ongoing process. It is beautiful now, when it is done it will be perfect. We went in to look at a honeymoon suite last night that was in progress. Next time around, we would like to book that one. The meats for breakfast were sourced from Swiss meats which is down the street from the house. Highly, highly recommended.
