I recently had the pleasure of visiting Hair Loft Salon & Spa for the second time, and once again,…read moreit was an exceptional experience. My first visit was with Dorothy, the spa manager, who graciously toured me around the facilities and pampered me with a lovely manicure. This time, I came in for a haircut and my stylist, Becky, was absolutely wonderful. Becky truly listened to my needs and demonstrated her expertise and kindness throughout the session. I was pleasantly surprised by the Redken products used at the salon. Not only did they work wonders on my hair, but their subtle fragrances were really nice. Becky also shared that Redken provides significant support in terms of education and knowledge to the Hair Loft team, which was evident in the way she handled my hair and how she educated me on my options. As someone who has been using henna for years, I was interested in lightening my hair. However, I was aware of the potential reactions between henna and bleach. Becky took the initiative to research my specific brand of henna and consulted with the Redken support team. Although I wasn't a candidate for lightening, she proposed some glazing options to blend my grays seamlessly without a drastic demarcation line. Moreover, she gave me the best haircut I've had in years! What made my experience even more special was Becky's kindness beyond the salon chair. Being new to town, she provided me with a recommendation for a chiropractor and offered to assist with any other local recommendations, from restaurants to doctors. I wholeheartedly recommend Hair Loft Salon & Spa to anyone seeking a professional, friendly, and knowledgeable salon experience. The staff, are kind, attentive, and genuinely care about their clients' needs. These ladies are the absolute best!

I booked an appointment for a permanent all-over color that was listed as $75, but at checkout I…read morewas charged $221 because of extra fees I was never told about. I only found out when it was time to pay. As a college student who budgets carefully, this was really upsetting -- especially since I drove over an hour to get there thinking the prices were affordable. The stylist also gave me a haircut after I specifically asked if I was booked for one and explained I didn't want extra charges. She said she "had time" and went ahead, but then I was charged for it anyway. On top of that, I asked for a dark wine red and ended up with a super dark plum/purple that looks almost black in the light, which wasn't what I wanted. What really bothered me was the lack of communication. No one sat me down and explained what the extra services or costs would be, which would have let me make an informed decision. If I had known, I would have chosen differently. Instead, I left with a color I'm not happy with and a bill three times higher than expected. I also felt uncomfortable during the appointment because the stylist made negative comments about another client and her younger sisters. Overall, it was an unprofessional and disappointing experience, and I wouldn't recommend this salon if you're looking for transparency or customer care.

I started coming here after everywhere else I tried caused my nails to break constantly and my skin to break out. I love the pedicure area in the back as it is tranquil and not crowded usually. I have been getting regular shellac manicures here which has saved my nails! They now grow and never break! Avalon uses CND nail products, which are great quality. I own several CND lotions and scrubs plus regular CND polish, which does not require a base coat. The gel though is not harsh on my nails and it is not terrible to get off. The prices are very reasonable too, and the atmosphere is nice. I am so glad I found Avalon, and it just happens to be very close to my neighborhood.
