They have consistently provided superb service and follow-through, so I recommend this location to anyone who is looking for a PCP. ORIGINAL REVIEW: I missed an appointment due to an emergency, called them beforehand to let them know, and they said it would be enough since it was an emergency. Called to reschedule, they said I never called so I'd have to pay. Asked them to check their system, they didn't find evidence of my call. I called back to reschedule again, the said they found the notes in their system, but I'd have to appeal formally. I asked them what proof was needed, and they said I'd just have to make the claim that I had emergency surgery. So I asked what's the difference between now and then, since I had already done that and what would constitute as proof to waive the fee. They couldn't really answer, transferred me to billing and billing said they couldn't do anything, I'd have to talk to the practice. I asked billing to get on the call with me and the practice, and they said they would, but they did a simple transfer instead. When I finally agreed to pay and appeal later, they didn't have the appointment I needed. One big circus, wasting everyone's time, over 25 dollars.

I have very small veins, and I'm always scared I'm gonna get poked up and leave looking like a Michael Myers victim. But she did it on the first try and with very little pain. When I became pregnant with my son, there was no question I wanted him to be our pediatrician--especially after my baby's NICU stay and ongoing medical needs. I adored him as a child, but now as a mom--especially one with postpartum anxiety and a medically complex NICU baby--I understand even more why my parents trusted him so much. He truly treats his patients like family and never makes you feel rushed. He takes his time, listens carefully, and is always thorough, attentive, and incredibly knowledgeable. What means the most to me is that he is also there when it really counts. I've had to call in the middle of the night and on weekends for emergencies with my son, and his after-hours care is amazing. He calls back quickly and delivers excellent patient care. I also appreciate that he has such a consistent and caring team. His nurse and receptionist have been there since I was a child, which says so much about the environment he's created. I can't recommend Dr. Montemayor enough. As new parents, my husband and I met several pediatricians in the San Antonio area to get to know them before our son arrived. Many pediatricians found it strange but Dr. Montemayor was not phased one bit. He answered all of our questions and made us feel welcomed. He ultimately became our pediatrician of choice. When our baby arrived (and in the midst of sleep deprivation) the anxiety levels were at extreme heights for us. The world suddenly turned into a VERY scary place for our sweet newborn baby. I remember four days after delivery we visited the office for our first appointment. With the high levels of anxiety, I was on the brink of tears and felt a strong sense of inadequacy. Dr. Montemayor picked up on this and became our number one cheerleader. I left the office feeling like a champ. Thereafter, our checkups for our sweet boy quickly became the sanctuary my husband and I needed for our sanity, validation and encouragement. We are eternally grateful for his emotional support. My son can be shy around new people, but Dr. Richards was warm and friendly with a big smile!! He answered all our questions and provided a plan for our son's future with his seizure disorder. Then without my knowledge our insurance was changed and no longer accepted by this office. I frantically called to get it changed back, and I was successful in doing so. Called back and despite having severe medical issues and not being seen in a month, they couldn't fit us in for another month. To have a sick baby and have these people pretending to care this whole time, then once it's not benefiting them, they had no idea who he was anymore, nor did they care that he is still struggling. Now I'm left back at square one trying to find another office who will act like they care for my child.
