I was staying at the Mandalay Bay for a trade show and while I was out exploring the hotel, I spotted the Starlight Tattoo/ Club Tattoo and popped in on a whim just to see what it might cost for a spur of the moment tattoo. I had a work function to attend but could come in the following day and Tony aka Humpty was able to easily accommodate my schedule and do my tattoo. I wasn't looking for anything huge or heavily detailed but never want to assume someone can drop everything to fit me into their schedule so I was so happy that everything worked out perfect! Everyone at the shop was so nice and helpful! Tony did a great job and I absolutely love my new doxie hot dog tattoo! My tattoo was simple, but have seen other examples of larger & more detailed work and I 10/10 would recommend!! read more

After seeing a show at Mandalay Bay I walked in to get a quote and figure out what I wanted, and maybe come back; there were other people looking at the books too, but I knew I wanted a wolf. I wasn't sure yet exactly 'how' it should be inked so talked about it and found one in the book: a tribal wolf howling that grabbed my attention. Well, it was one of those Vegas "seize the moment" times: made the decision and off I went to the chair, where Alex prepped my arm and then went to work: it took about an hour to complete. Everyone was really nice, friendly, and helpful: Alex must have a magic touch because I didn't feel anything, and the design is beautiful. The vibe inside the shop was good, busy but calm, and the hour or so passed quickly. My arm was wrapped in a plastic film that was to be kept on for three days, and I couldn't wait to 'unwrap' it back home. I got carried away with the tattoo and didn't take photos of the shop itself, sorry all. I do have the first pic taken after unwrapping the new ink. I would/will definitely go back to Starlight: do check them out ! read more

Alright it's been awhile since I was in Vegas with my wife we both got a tattoo in 2019 hers turned out nice we both got dice tattoos I couldn't figure out how to finish it out so I've been disappointed a bit not the fault of the artist. So I've been thinking how I could fix/ finish it. We went to a concert at the House of Blues Saturday night and we stopped by to talk to the staff, Marie and Alex took care of my questions and we discussed an idea I had and after some input from my wife I made an appointment for the next day, wanted to sleep on it. When you go to Starlight Tattoo you'll be greeted by a super friendly staff, Marie, and I think you'll appreciate how clean the facility is the work stations are organized and well stocked. So next day it's go time we arrived early but that was no problem Alex was free and was ready to go we went over everything one last time, my wife who has an extensive graphic design experience talked with Alex and he was so cool listening and collaborating with us we settled on the final vision and a little over an hour later viola I got a tattoo that has a special meaning to me and incorporates my earlier tattoo I'm very happy with it. I know a tattoo is a big decision but if you want a tattoo while you're visiting Vegas this is the one place to go ask for Alex for sure but I'm sure any of the artists will take of you. read more

I came here looking at moving to this part of town, fell in love with the vibes here, Club Tattoo has made some major improvements all around ! I am so happy I found this amazing shop! I had an awful, horrific piercing experience at another shop over 10 years ago. I was terrified to get another piercing. Well, I found this amazing shop filled with Talented people. And luckily I found Cristiano! He made me feel extremely comfortable, and he was very professional. He assured me I would feel hardly any pain, and more importantly my piercing would be correctly placed and safe. He was amazing, talked me through every step, very gentle and patient. I've gone to Michelle for 3 tattoos and plan to keep coming back. The first two were simple band logos but demanded clean, straight lines and consistent fill. 4 years later, everything still looks great. The last one was "Lady Justice" from Metallica's ...and Justice For All. She knocked it out of the park. She was able to capture all of the sublte shading and ghostly lines accurate and clean. Got my nose and ear pierced by Christian. Walked in on a busy afternoon, with the wait time and the piercing we were out in 90 minutes (with three ahead of me). the cleanliness, professionalism and gentleness of the piercing process was amazing. He was so patient and thorough. Piercings do hurt in the moment for a few seconds but the pain was gone once he put the earring on and the healing has been great since! read more

I've emailed, I've called, I've messaged through their website and I've reached out on Instagram. Cannot even get an acknowledgement that I am trying to get a quote and an appt. Christrano the piercer- couldn't be happier. Probably the best service experienced in my entire recent vegas trip. I had gone in because I needed new body jewelry and help inserting in due to a very old piercing that was rejecting newer jewelry from a different shop. He was kind, respectful, professional. He helped me pick new jewelry and inserted it for me despite the difficulty I was having with it. I was embarrassed and and in pain and he said " we are going to sort this out!" And he did. Everything was sterile and well executed. It's been three days and I've already healed completely. My experience was professional, well executed, and most importantly to me, I was treated with dignity and the job was done perfectly! Thank you again, you really saved me! Don't waste your time here, as they're way overpriced. Don't use the "I got a tattoo in Vegas!" As an excuse either. Simple request for a small tattoo on the ankle for $250? Seriously? Just get the tattoo at home and tell them you got it in Vegas. read more

My wife and I were in Vegas for The Rolling Stones concert and her birthday, and staying at mandalay bay. We both have tattoos, and we had kinda sorta talked about getting new ones so we stopped by the starlight tattoo shop in the hotel, just off the casino. I had been wanting a tat of the logo for the band the cure as a sort of tribute to my late brother and as soon as I showed the gentleman who greeted us, he immediately said it would be no problem, had it sized to my liking on my arm and I was ready to go. Joe Castillo did both our pieces and while he was working on mine, the guys were helping design my wife's, a delicate leafy ring of flowers around her ankle that she adores. Now, a bit about Joe-incredibly cool guy, as friendly as can be and very patient and gentle while doing the tattoos. We were both flat out thrilled with him and the work he did. The whole shop and staff had a great, laid back vibe and we both will definitely be getting more ink done from them. Excellent experience in every way. Thanks! read more

Seems like the lady was kind enough the guys were pricks. Kept cutting her off, didn't allow me to ask any questions just went on about his experience. I didn't get to show my design before they brushed my off I was prepared to spend at least 2k but he assumed I've never had a tattoo "over a couple hundred" just outwardly judging people's tattoos. First off, I need to say that I did not get a tattoo here, so this review has nothing at all to do with their quality of work. I'm writing this because I was completely blown away by their prices (hence the reason they did not do any work for me). My daughter and I are having a girls weekend here in Vegas and wanted to get matching tattoos. We chose a tiny red heart like in the picture, which clearly would take a few minutes to do each. We were told that pricing goes by the size and that these would be $200 each! I asked if I heard him correctly and told him these are only about a quarter of an inch, and he replied yes without blinking and eye. Obviously we could not justify $400 for this and left. No wonder the place was empty. There are plenty of other places nearby on and off of the strip that are more reasonable than this one, so do yourself and your wallet a favor and check them out on Yelp or Google, or ask some of the locals for recommendations. That's what we did and are so glad!! read more

Dear Mario Barth, I went into your store on 07/29 at 17:32 I was greeted by a woman at first, I told her I needed a new nose ring, she called out your jeweler who was a tall male with dark hair lots of piercings and his tongue was split. He asked what I was looking for I told him a nose ring, just something tiny, he proceeded to say all the nose rings are high quality and gold, they start at $65. That seemed kind of high but again they are gold and my sister started playing with her yellow gold hoop talking about how it's 18k and she paid $80. So I told him I'd think about it, went outside with my sister, we talked about it and i retuned back to the store to purchase it, he asked which one I wanted and I told him to pick the one that sparkles. He picked one and went to the back he then was prepping it to insert it, at that time it was disclosed my bill was going to be $90something and I said I would install it myself. I Paid $70.44 total for the smallest size nose ring that actually ended up being titanium, none of the nose ring is any type of white gold what so ever. I've called your store tryin to get some type of resolution and they are literally acting like I'm making up this story. I honestly can't believe this is happening and the manager Jennifer and whomever Henry are, are acting so beyond childish. I have no reason to make something like this up, nor would I spend $70 on a piece of titanium Jewelry Especially since I'm highly allergic to nickel. Put down a deposit for myself and two friends for three tiny, matching tattoos and we were told we would get a deal. Showed up for our appointment the next day and the artist was a no-show. The team that was there said they couldn't go.less than shop minimum which was, I believe $225.or $250 a piece. We went ahead and got the tattoos and they asked for $200 each for three super easy tattoos that took about 45 TOTAL for all three. Be sure to get the quote in writing when booking ahead of time. In addition, my tattoo turned out fine but one of my friends got a horrible infection. read more

First off Orion did a great job on our tattoos. He was a class act and professional. I'm sure being an artist at a parlor in the Mandalay Bay can get crazy. He was very much appreciated and is the only reason there are stars on here at all. However there was an artist Jericho I think was his name. He needs a serious attitude adjustment. You're not curing cancer dickhead get over yourself. Without getting into it, the guy is an overgrown infant. Also, one of the staffers (some white girl with dirty hair) needs to yank the stick out of her rectum as well. Good times. read more

Mario Barth has lived a life of tattooing unlike any other tattoo artist in the world. He hand-selects and trains each of his artists, perhaps in unconventional ways at times, but also from his decades of experience with what REALLY works. His tattoo skills turn traditional tattooing rules on their heads from time to time, but the tattoo results are undeniable. Twenty eight years ago in Western Europe, becoming a tattoo artist took determination and bravado, especially for Mario Barth. Growing up in Austria, where tattooing was not just frowned upon but completely illegal, he came up through the underground. Riding motorcycles and hanging out with a rough bunch, he learned the secrets of the trade in the dark shadows of the earth, every piece of knowledge earned through blood, sweat, and courage.

Once we chose them we signed our waivers, which had the price of the piercing listed. While you do this they create their sterile field but sterilizing everything including the earring(s) that you chose at the beginning. They even let you visualize the jewelry with a transparent sample stick on the area you are choosing to get pierced at. Edna pierced my ear and she is amazing. She made this experience great for me and I told her I was a bit nervous since I haven't gotten a piercing in years. We talked about the anatomy of my ear and she assured me that the pain would not be too bad (she was right! Lol) She helped me choose the spot on my ear and then vocalized what she was doing from start to finish and at the end of the day I felt like the process was easier than I made it out to be. They have a one time $25 fee + the fee for the piercing + jewelry you chose. Prices seem reasonable to me! They have promotions as well if you keep coming back. I was in his shop probably once a month getting new piercings or purchasing new jewelry. I am not cheap with my jewelry. I spent probably about $950 in jewelry alone this last visit to him. One of the piercings I got done on my ear, I must have hit or something because it was starting to swell and the post was a bit too tight in the area that it was swollen. I was simply looking for a longer post. I called in the morning and the guy on the phone was nice and said I could swap out the post no problem. The reviews online seemed great so I thought, sure. Let's stop in. The guy at the front was nice but didn't really have an idea of what I needed and had to ask a guy in the back who was less than friendly. Barely said a few words. But whatever, that's fine. I can deal with that. What immediately threw me off was the fact that this shop carries externally threaded jewelry. If you're not aware, a simple google search will teach you that this is basic piercer 101 - NO EXTERNAL THREADING. All they had to offer me was such, which blew my mind because you're trying to offer me with my freshly wounded, freshly pierced piercing a piece of jewelry that without a doubt was going to damage that area even more. Have whatever brand jewelry you want, but wow???? That's so unbelievably alarming that that jewelry is even being offered for sale at a "legit" piercing/tattoo shop. You can get the same type of pieces from Hot Topic or Claire's. I can't speak for the tattoos done here but run far, FAR away if you're trying to get pierced. 2 stars because the guy on the phone and the guy at the front were very nice.

I went in and he was VERY nice and professional. Kala told me my jewelry was "costume" and that I should replace them with professional titanium versions. I didn't mind paying for new jewelry, I was tired of how hard it was to remove and reinstall the old ones. He fixed me up in no time, for a very low price, for jewelry and service. I cannot recommend a better shop in Las Vegas.

Simple, easy and the only factor was the font, but again, I'm agreeable. The two shops that gave me quotes basically told me, "No problem, but our shop minimum is $175-$200. Your work sounds like less, but those are the prices". Now if Koolsville can do a $10 tattoo, certainly something of my scale should qualify for a discount. When I reached out to Illuminati, I was told the shop minimum was $100 and I was encouraged to come in. Lou took excellent care of me. He not only gave me the 12 characters for the shop minimum, but he touched up an existing tattoo of mine for no charge. Come on bro! If there is such a thing as a tattoo lottery, I WON IT. I now have my angel on my arm and received the warmest possible welcome to Las Vegas. This appears to be a shop that will earn your business, your positive review and trust. I totally agree w/the unprofessional comments so far. I've gotten 10 Tats so far & this was by far the worst experience. Now, i realize they charged twice going rate going in & i didnt care cause i was doing well at casino that week. So i scheduled an appt to do ink that normally woulda cost $750 & agreed to $1500. $ is not an object when it comes to good work imo. The following is the most unprofessional business practice i've ever heard of...They asked me for a deposit to hold appt. & said it had to be at least $100. I gave them $500 & they booked me for 8pm that night, which was a Thurs. I came back at 8pm to hear, "Sorry, artist is still busy, can we reschedule you for Friday at Noon?It should only take 4hrs". I say, "Sure, but it has to be completed tomorrow cause i fly out of Vegas Sat. @ 8am". Next day I return at Noon & wait for an hr until the artist comes up to me & says, "Dude, i'm swamped today, can we reschedule again?". So I say, "Sorry, i gotta fly home tomorrow, i'll just take my refund back, we'll do it next time i'm in town." Only to hear from 3 employees, "Oh, sorry, it says on your appt. receipt, No Refunds". I wont go into the hell that needed to be raised for an hr by my friend & i to finally get my $ back, but it was the angriest i've ever been in my life. It did teach me to never give anyone more than you need to, but at the cost of almost being arrested. So, my advice is to stay away from this overpriced, unprofessional & disrespectful bunch of clowns at all cost, unless you want to lose a deposit for an appointment they may never keep for you. I've seen they do good work, but its not worth the stress. read more

Visited the Mandalay shop last week with my wife. We were picking up tickets at HOB that day and she said lets get tattoos. I'm from the E. Coast and moved to Vegas last winter. I've got work done at the Rochelle shop. Vegas shop is a far cry from Starlight material. The counter girl was real standoffish to my wife as if the shop was too good for her. I didn't talk with anyone in the shop and just checked out some ports. Pretty quick, I walked out to the Casino and waved to the wifey lets go. We're not going back because the shop has no soul. The prices there are way too steep and it's not like you're getting tatt'd by Mario him-self. The shops like Starborn, Chrome Gypsy, Paradise are more reasonable for equal good work if not better. Just search out the other shops and talk with the artists. It's an impulse buy tat shop in a casino, more like a gift shop with $6 bottled water. They should really do a reality show about it, except there's just average to well skilled artists there like any other shop. Starlight Mandalay Bay and King ink is plane and simple rip off. Never have I been to a shop where they tell you no matter what you're getting it's going to be way overpriced. Standard is usually $100 an hr. and their's start at 200 for a dime sized tattoo. Come on! I like talking with the artist and developing the artwork that's going to be on me for the rest of my life. Felt more like they were desperate to make a sale without any discussion about the meaning of tattoos. Rockstar shop not like back home. read more

I was a walk-in with an idea of what I wanted for my first tattoo. Always said I'd get one when I turned 40 and here we are. After looking through the boards on the wall, I started taking to Michael and a few other staff members. If you go, feel free to talk to anybody in the shop, everybody was pleasant and knowledgeable. Michael, (who's specialty is piercing) had some excellent ideas on additional adjustments to my concept. When the time came, I met my artist, a very personable guy named Alex Moreno. We talked for a few minutes about my ideas, he made some suggestions and then went off to work. After about 15 minutes, he came back with a hand sketch that was awesome, it was like he pulled the image out of my head. After observing his drawing I knew he understood what I was thinking and gave him free rein as the artist to make it his creation. After 3 hours in the chair, all I can add is the description offered by several patrons that walked in while it was being done...."Awesome"! I now have a mythological dragon that stretches from my shoulder to elbow done with superb coloring, shading and attention to detail that allows for excellent definition to the smallest scales. I can only say Thank you so much, but I waited a longtime to have it done and I got more then I expected for an excellent price. Thank you Starlight, with a special thanks to Alex Moreno, Highly recommend him for anybody thinking of having a tattoo done. read more

My girlfriend and I went to Vegas recently and decided to get peircings. We stayed at Mandalay Bay and noticed they had a tattoo shop so we checked it out. We met a really nice peircer named Adam, I believe, who made myself (I have a lot of piercings) and my friend (piercing virgin besides ears) feel really comfortable. I wasn't nervous at all getting my, um, wooha peirced...but my friend who was getting her belly button done was scared shitless. He wouldn't pierce her until he got her into a very calm state of mind and made sure she was comfortable and relaxed. Again I've had tons of stuff pierced and I never had anyone be so nice and patient. Ive been to shops in San Diego where they want you in and out, but even though this place is fancy-shmance, they were happy to wait for us to make up our minds without blowing us off. The prices were a BIT higher than other shops but it was seriously worth it. Everyone was really friendly, we were offered water and offered us an after care kit to take home. Both of our piercings are still intact and healed beautifully. I've told all my friends about it who are going to vegas. I give this place 5 stars and recommend it to anyone who wants a great, non-pushy, considerate and talented peircer....maybe next time we will get tattoos! read more

I am a regular in Vegas for the past twenty five years, Retired NYC Warden 44 years old USMC vet who was walking around with faded tats that were 30 years old. Was staying at Mandalay and decided to look into Starlight tattoo for an idea to re color all tats and actually cover or reshape a tat that was no longer readable. It use to say Semper Fi but now looked like a solid bar. Over the past 5 years I have been walking into tat parlors looking for an idea to fix it or cover it with a tat using USMC theme. I got offerd solutions like to cover it with a samurai sword, Sorry I am not Japanese. Long story short. Walked into Starlight tattoo and asked for an idea and was introduced to Justin. Suggested Semper Fi above tat and tribal tat to accent and cover old tat. Had other arm recolored also from 30 years ago, Paid 1600 bucks and left 200 tip, Came out excellent, Other places were around the same price but no one offered solution that was extremely difficult in fixing an old faded tat. Service 1st class and tts look great! There on my arms forever! I rather pay for quality and 1st rate suggestions on how they will turn out then save a few bucks. On a mother/daughter trip in Vegas and our plan was to get inked together. Looked online for places and discovered that StarLight Tattoo was right across the street from where we were staying. I had an idea of what I really wanted but I have presented this idea to 2 different tattoo artist and they pretty much told me that it could not be done. I presented my idea at StarLight Tattoo and they said yes.... I was still skeptical but let me say this..... Ulises nailed it.. perfection, its a 10! So happy. Ulises was friendly, warm and made us feel comfortable, another huge plus! I have been to many tattoo shops where the artist act like prima donnas. Not at StarLight. Good Customer service. A year ago I had a tattoo done at Starlight while attending a meeting. Chad did a wonderful job on a design I had. Well, for some reason the tattoo didn't heal properly and the color was dull and I had scarring. I came back to Mandalay Bay 1 year later. Chad was gracious enough to stay late to accommodate my schedule and redid my tattoo. The service is wonderful. The general manager Charlotte was especially helpful in arranging everything. There was great communication from Charlotte and they even offered to get me in earlier. There prices maybe higher than other studios, but you can't beat the service. Maybe just drunk suckers getting a first tattoo would pay $250 as a minimum for ink. I go to Vegas once a year and wanted to get something fairly small. I have plenty of other tatts. So I found Starlight Tattoo online. I called and was told it was walk-in only. I thought cool, then I walked in and was told about the $250 minimum by some chick giving me a shit-eating smile. I went to see Alex Moreno, and we worked on wonderful first tattoo. He was a lot of fun to work with and very professional. YES, tats here are expensive, but you get what you pay for. So much complaining about the price, people you are putting a permanent mark on your body! If you want quality, here is one of many places in Vegas to get a great tattoo. If you are only looking for a cheap tattoo, this is not the place for you. Alex was worth the over $1,000 I paid for my tattoo. This place is truly the place where you would want to get a tattoo. I was in Vegas recently for a vet tech convention when I passed by the place. I stopped in and asked a few questions and looked around and watched the technique of the artists. I was impressed. I met with Ronnie and showed him a sketched version of the tattoo I wanted. He worked with it to get the price right and the size just perfect ot show off my new dog paw print on my foot. Absolutely sterile and fine artistic quality. We visited Vegas from Canada and had an impromptu matchy-matchy couples tattoos that fit our style. (Wayne's World!) Chris was awesome, he designed our tattoos super quick, and was eager and pleasant to get tattooed by. His work is ahhhhh-mazing, and we LOVE our Wayne and Garth tattoos. They're both super random and hilarious, if we had the option of being closer and getting more work done by Chris - we totally would! Great job, great group! This was my very first Tattoo. The staff was friendly and excited to do it. I knew going in it wouldn't be cheap, but the results were amazing. Joe C. tried to customize the image I brought in, based on an idea I had, but we both agreed it was better to go with the original, so he made a new stencil. I spent three hours in the chair. Joe was great. The others popped in to check the progress, it was encouraging to hear their excitement as well. I got great care instructions and they happily checked it for me the next day since it is hard to check your own shoulder. read more

I was in Vegas end of January this year and had a skull and crossbones with a crown and a banner saying Miss done on my forearm. Chad James did an outstanding job! I sent him a few pictures of some ideas before I got there. When I arrived he had done up exactly what I had imagined. I love it!! His line work is spot on and he's an awesome guy! Everyone was very friendly and very accommodating and helpful. I got 2 large coverups done, one on each arm. They are amazing. James was my artist, I told him what I was after, he had both designs done within an hour and did my first arm straight away (5hours). Second arm was done the next day (3 hours). He was very gentle. Healing process was very fast. The studio was very clean with a professional air about it. If your in Vegas and your after some new ink, more ink or a cover up. I spent a long time looking for an artist that could do my tattoo. I met Matt Smith and showed him a picture of me as a younger man in the Military. He was able to transform that into a great work of art. I spent exactly what it was worth, a lot. This was a gift from my wife for my 50th Birthday. I had my first tattoo done by Orion Edwards. It is a fairly large arm Tat of the Pittsburgh Steelers and personalized with my Son's initials. Can't say enough about the planning and the quality of his work. Very clean and sterile shop and practice, good after care advice and products available. Reviews are intended to capture an experience. You don't have to spend money or even be a customer to have an experience with a business and that is exactly what I reviewed for Black Spade. I reached out to them about having work done while I was on vacation. Rather than call them rude or abrasive, which they were, I'll just say they were dismissive. Based on that interaction, I continued to request quotes from other vendors before being treated with respect by Illuminati Tattoos. So, unless Yelp has changed their policy and reviews now require a documented exchange of money. That is my first-hand recount of contacting Black Spade. Some times you got to call a spade a spade.

From the moment we walked in, Jenna at the front desk made us feel welcome. Then we met three incredible artists who each brought their own talent and personality to the experience. Brian did mine, and I absolutely love how it turned out. Alex took care of my friend's tattoo and did amazing work. Abi did my wife's piece, and it came out beautifully. All three artists were professional, friendly, and seriously talented. We couldn't have asked for a better experience. We'll definitely be back for more ink.
