I missed the press night (bloody E-Coli) where the awesome Dekade played, but made it down on Sunday for the Cuban Brothers, who were side-stitchingly AWESOME! Supported by the equally deliciously tongue-in-cheek Bikini Beach band, who, together with a super-fun, super-friendly party crowd made it a total WIN in every respect, They have quiz nights, comedy nights, open mic nights, after shows, and music, music, music, music! (...not forgetting me as a permanent fixture propping up the bar!) Easy to get to, friendly door and bar staff, reasonably priced drinks and a cracking line-up of acts already, this is one place i want to keep going on and on and on (like Ariston).

Plus it's right next to the Finsbury Park station, bonus. This is more of a review for the Wednesday open mic night. Small group showed up. Really laid back. They seemed to already know the sound guy in charge of it. Just walked up to him and he took out a paper list in his pocket. Some great people played that night. There were so many up coming music events on posters all over the walls. Would like to see this place when it's pumping. The drink prices are a little steep. The happy hour deal is all night monday thru wednesday 4.50 for a double spirit with mixer. That's a lot right? I don't know. Feeling like a cheapskate at the moment but it was too much. (Random Drink Fact) : 3 pound shots of flavored vodka. They have flavors like Nutella....no I didn't try it. That's more of a bad decision moment at the end of a thursday night show here. So, another time then.

Lots of new ones for me and I followed the crowd in selecting Buzz Light Beer, the honey-est flavoured bee-er I hive ever tasted (haha sigh). It was rather nice. The icing on the cake? A falafel tent erected outside the pub. You can order there and they will bring the delicious result to you at your table in the pub. Not sure how often that is the case of course, but if its outside I would recommend it.

I've known this pub for three years now. As an essential aspect of the Walthamstow community, it…read morehosts a range of pop-ups, gigs, etc. I've been to both the pop-up Thai restaurant and wood oven pizza, which were fantastic. Unfortunately, the actual pub doesn't serve food. The pub staff are always really nice even when they're busy. The clientele range from older men to hipsters to young professionals to everything in between. It's a really good place to grab a pint and they even allow four legged friends. I had a lovely time here last night listening to a blue grass band. There was lots of people there and even some dancing. The atmosphere was great and we really enjoyed ourselves! Now that I've listed all the positives, I do need to talk about the negatives. The pub needs a restoration as it is beginning to look a little worn. For example, the carpets need to be replaced and it could do with a fresh coat of paint. However, the place is pretty clean for a pub! This is pretty minor as the other elements are way more important to a night out. On the other hand, this is also part of the vibe. Overall it's a charming aspect of the community that I'm glad is around!

This is a great place to meet up with friends for a drink. Wooden floor boards throughout, friendly staff, great music, not too loud and a great selection of beers.. Not that many pubs on Dalston Lane, so nice to see one open up in such a cool space. And so very Dalston.

Great location for me as it's near the overground. The dancing mostly happens in the front (I say mostly because the occasional couple uses the space on either side of the bar to get more dancing room) and there are plenty of places to sit around the back of the bar if you need a break from dancing. Lovely place to banish the Sunday blues us 9-5ers tend to get.

I can't believe I'm the first to review this place. Anywho, I came here two weeks ago to see…read moreRudimental live and I was taken to drum n' bass heaven! The venue is located up the road from Brixton Station, so it's really easy to find. The main space has a very large standing area with a bar and DJ booth. Perhaps this is only true of the day that I was there, but the decor on the main floor was supremely plain. There is also a balcony, but I'm not sure if it has seating or not. It looked like standing only. The colorful balcony, on the other hand, was covered in gilded crown molding. According to the website, the capacity is 1700 people. If I was an artist, I would be nervous to perform in a space this size. It's not small enough for an intimate show, but it's too small to convey the power of a stadium show. Lucky for me, Rudimental's crazy live show energized the entire space. For future reference, I probably wouldn't see an R&B or old school singer here.

Even though the venue and the music sounded great (Santigold - you legend!) I always struggle to…read moregive music venues more than 3 unless they're exceptional. This is usually due to the fact that they know they have a captive audience so once you've bought your ticket off the promoter paying all the usual booking and delivery fees the gravy train doesn't stop there! As usual there was a rubbish selection of drinks at sky high prices - £5 for a warm can of Kronenberg was the best bet...oh dear! Couple this with the fact that they don't display set times and the bouncer refusing to tell me earlier in the night when walking past makes the cynic in me say that this is just another ruse to get you in earlier buying drinks whilst waiting and waiting for the show to start! Until these places start working on the fan experience then a 3 will be the max unless something very special happens.

Jally Keba Susso wowed everyone with his musical talents. The chill out room housed a bar, and different options on vegan food. There was even a space for getting a massage.
