Starbucks on Rua Saraiva de Carvalho is in a great location, it is in central Porto, right across the way from the Cathedral, it is a new location which opened in 2024 in a fairly pretty building with azulejos design.
It is a small location, with only two tables on the inside. However, the outdoor seating area is large, and with stunning views of the city and Cathedral, it makes it a great place to enjoy the city's beautiful sights and good weather. The interior did feel quite cramped and a little uncomfortable on my second visit, when they were busy, with many people waiting to order, which could certainly become an issue in the peak summer season when tourists will likely visit.
I visited here twice during my December 2024 trip to Portugal; I was impressed with the speed of service, the quality of my drink and the price. My iced Gingerbread Latte was considerably cheaper than I'd pay back home in the UK, costing GBP 4.09 when converted, the same drink back home would cost at least £5.65 (with some franchise and higher-tiered stores charging even more).
On both occasions, my drink tasted good and was up to the usual Starbucks standards; I would advise specifying if you would like cream or not when ordering, usually, the Iced Gingerbread Latte would come without it unless you ask in the UK. However, it's different here.
4* - If you're looking to grab a quick coffee in a great location while sightseeing, this is a great Starbucks to go to, and the prices are much less than you'd pay around Europe and North America, which is a huge bonus, but if you're looking to take the weight off your feet in the middle of a day of sightseeing, I would suggest other locations. read more
