I have never been to a Starbucks like this one! They are VERY friendly, kind, know patrons by name and go above and beyond compared to any SB I've been to. I work remotely here sometimes so I see many interactions and see/hear discussions at slow/quiet times. People of all ages frequent here and feel comfortable and welcome, which is a stark contrast to other SB's I've been at in various states. Their coffee and food are great, but I come here for the atmosphere and I see MANY senior citizens coming here for social interactions, it's heartwarming, really. It is a spacious location with and outdoor sitting area if you want to grab your cup o'joe and hang out. I'm buying a cappuccino coffee station for home. The New Smyrna Beach location is never open when we try and go for a iced coffee. 1 out of 3 times we try and stop they're closed. This is extremely frustrating because of the location being quite a way from interstate and unless we're going to the beach we have no other reason to be in this area. Today we stopped and the lobby was closed at 1:30 PM so the drive thru line was literally out the driveway, one more car would have been in the street. There is no consistency at this location whatsoever. One time the drinks will be tasty and the next meh... definitely not up to standards and no consistency. This isn't a $3.00 convenience store coffee... it's quite a bit more expensive than most all. I'm sorry $ is tough these days and a higher priced so so coffee isn't acceptable to the point we'll invest in the equipment and make it at home. No more special trips to this location again. read more

I have been to many Starbucks in my life but never one with employees like this. I've gone several times since they have been open and every single employee has been pleasant, kind, warm and welcoming. I'm truly convinced they have accomplished what no other Starbucks has ever done. A store full of amazing employees that seem genuinely happy to be there and serve their customers. This store gets packed and is more busy then some other locations. I never understood why people cry and scream over a coffee. It sounds awfully immature because it is, it's pathetic. All drinks in the store are made the same way at the other locations in the area. The food comes from a freezer just like every other fast food coffee joint. This review goes out to Ken and Karen. 2 visits in 2 days, both bad. Don't waste your money! First visit top was not on when handed to me and spilled on me in my car. No new coffee or anything just handed me napkins and said sorry. 1/3 of my drink gone. Then second day top was not all the way on again!! (Caught before handed to me this time!) but they were wrong size, grande not venti. So instead of remaking they poured in bigger cups and added more oatmilk to the coffee, basically tastes like a pumpkin spice oatmilk. These drink cost almost $8 each! When did tipping at the drive thru become a thing. I went through the drive thru. I attempted to touch less payment for my drink. The girl in the window said I had to fill out the tip screen or the machine would not accept my touch less payment. She refused to give me my order because I would not fill out the tip screen. I've worked for tips. I know the rules. The rules on tipping are very simple in this country. If you sit you tip. You don't tip the drive thru attendant at McDonalds or any other place. To me touching the screen that every other customer has touched is disgusting. read more

This Starbucks closes very early and occasionally at random times. (I've been there early afternoon when a barista came up to me and said that they had to close within 10 minutes). otherwise, they seem to close around 4:00, even though posted hourssay they're open until 9:00. Not sure whether they're understaffed or whether they're still worried about covid(?) but every other coffee shop in NSB is maintaining normal hours, at this point... my daughter works at one of them, so I know... This was our best Starbucks experience, EVER. At 6:05 a.m. we were greeted with the most cheerful, pleasant and clear voice through the speaker. The smile of the team member could be heard through both their mask and the microphone. Our order was perfect, the courtesy and professionalism of the associate that kindly greeted us was almost surreal. My husband and I looked at each other in shock, actually. Great job, KAY! As a disabled person (no speech) I find this Starbucks amazing hard to navigate as the staff doesn't have patience and must be conditioned to poor treatment by customers. In any case , normally I order in the app give it 20 and get the drink but todsy it took 35 minutes for the order and when I tried to get attention and show my phone with what I was trying to say, only to be rudely dismissed and told they are running slow without even looking to see if they had made a mistake and missed it. Not a good experience for a $8 drink. I get you need to new staff and things can get slow what I can't accept is the attitude to a disabled person who is already stressed . Our Starbucks is brand new. Not only did they close their doors at 4:00 in the afternoon but sometimes 3:00 PM about a month in of opening. Now it is maybe 5 months after opening and the store has been closed for at least two days. What is going on at this location? Does anyone know? Disappointing. read more

Disappointed overall with this location. The drive thru line was super long so I went inside. Friendly server, but they are almost too friendly. They chat with the customers while the line keeps getting longer and longer. Then you stand and watch them serve the entire drive thru (no joke) before they start working on inside orders. I have to go up and ask for the food portion of my order which they had completely forgotten. Then my coffee comes out as a grande not a venti. By now I am over it, I just want out of there! So I am not going to say anything because it appears that is what she charged me for even if it was not what I ordered. The only reason I gave even 2 stars is because at least the ordered coffees tasted right. Not going back to this location. read more

Great place in New Smyrna. We usually try to frequent local coffee shops when traveling but the ones in New Smyrna act like they're doing you a favor to wait on you. Not so with this place. I love this Starbucks! The people are outstanding - always pleasant and they make the best cold brew with sweet cream vanilla foam. I like a little more foam and they just smile when I ask for it and then they make it perfectly. When they hand me my coffee, they actually wish me a great day even when they are swamped with orders. Just had the worst cappuccino I have ever had at a Starbucks. I ordered a tall, wet cappuccino. I got a flavorless...not wet...drink with a gob of airy fluff on top. I never know if this place is going to be open, if they're only running the drive through, if the lobby is closed ( randomly), or if Order ahead is available or not. And sometimes they don't actually start making mobile orders til the person is there and accounted for. It's the only location within 15 miles so I have to come.
