This coffee shop feels quite warm inside and the food matches that warm welcoming feeling. From sandwiches to soups, this place will certainly fill that yearning for food! The service in the cafe is very good indeed, with everyone very friendly and helpful. Another bonus of this place is that you can obtain Internet access and that whilst you do that you can view the local art that is on the walls. The Picnic Coffee Shop is most defiantly worth a visit, and in this glorious summer weather, one can enjoy a cool drink in the outdoor area looking over the town.

I asked him for the Scottish ice cream experience as today was my last day in Scotland. He told me about flavors that he had from different regions of Scotland, and the ice creams that have won prizes in Scotland. I went with his recommendation of lemon honey and it did not disappoint! I also ordered vanilla. It was a perfect combo. The ice cream tastes so good! I wish I had this shop close to my house! This place is awesome because it is owned and operated by Scottish locals. The shop also offers smaller Scottish treats. We purchased Scottish butter cookies to take home with us. This was the best ice cream shop. The ice cream was so fresh! However, I've had enough of them now for my body to become used to the strong caffeine surge. Eating beforehand and eeking it out over a few hours is recommended. The coffee is also strong and unique in flavour, so may not be for everybody. I only buy one when I really feel like I need a strong caffeine hit and it certainly gives me that. Nick who owns this particular van that is a very talkative, friendly chap and has learned my regular order, despite the infrequent purchases. At weekends, he sometimes takes the van to events and can be hired for that purpose. He also stocks a range of fresh pastries, sandwiches, soups and snacks that he sources from various local suppliers.

I was through in Edinburgh visiting my friend who has two small children. She lives round the…read morecorner from Teatopia and as there had been a heavy snowfall our plans of taking the kids out changed, so we decided to walk here for lunch and to get the kids out. My friend told me that the place had been closed for a refurb and turns out new owners. It had only reopened 2 days before we arrived. The decor is bright, cosy and friendly. With lots of cupcake and butterfly pictures/wall stickers. The owner came over and told us that they were having a problem with the electrics so it would be a limited menu today. This was fine as we were still able to order some yummy food. I had the prawn and avocado salad which was delicious. My friend had a toasted pannini and her kids had a sandwich and beans on toast. We were all pleased with our choices. We initially sat upstairs at the window seat but when we went downstairs to the toilet the children spotted a small play area, so we decided to move downstairs to have our cakes. The staff were great and came and helped us move everything downstairs. The kids played and we got to enjoy our tea, hot chocolate and cakes. I had chocolate cake and my friend had carrot cake. We shared them with the kids and still couldn't finish them. The chocolate cake was home made and moist I really enjoyed it. All our food encluding drinks came to just under £25 which I thought was a total bargain. I will definitely be back.
