Starbucks - Phoenix & 540 (Fort Smith) A very unique design inside. A large brick mural of coffee farming. Opened in 2020. I was in town for few days and was able to visit this location for few days. Overall, the service was good. I ordered both days hot coffee with food items and was able to get few complimentary refills while staying awhile at the café. EXTERIOR: They offer parking spaces that are shared with other businesses. They do have a Drive-Thru, too, if you don't have time to stop and stay awhile. This entire building was constructed in 2017 and is located by Fort Smith Airport. Occasionally, you will hear planes of different sizes, including fighter jets flying by. I thought that was really cool. I've never been at a Starbucks where you can step outside to get on a phone call, and right in front of you, fighter jets flying by. That along adds a unique experience to a Starbucks visit. A small patio is available by the entrance. ATMOSPHERE: The space is truly thoughtfully crafted. You are greeted with a large brick mural on the right of the entrance. The chalked mural shows you from start to finish how a coffee bean goes through a full cycle at a coffee farm. Bellow the mural you will find most of your seating that is made out of reclaimed wood. You have six tables with fourteen chairs. In the middle of the café you have two large tables to accommodate large groups, up to twenty chairs. A large merchandise shelve available towards the back by the large tables. The Pick-Up and Order counter stayed clean and presentable for customers. BARISTAS: Overall, I think baristas did a very well job. I was able to be here on first day early morning and late afternoon, second day. Early morning shift did fairly well and were friendly. The afternoon shift I think could use additional training. Few did great, while most I felt had an attitude. When I asked for a refill of hot tea in a For-Here Mug and one tea bag on the side, the guy brought the opposite. He brought to my table hot tea in a To-Go cup. When the gentleman brought me the second tea bag on the side, he opened it. I didn't ask him to open it. I politely I asked if he can tape that tea bag to keep the bold full leaf aroma intact inside the tea bag. He walked away with an attitude. Shortly, he brought me For-Here Mug and tapped tea bag. The other thing I noticed is some of the baristas are sounding too robotic when customers are coming in, or stepping outside for a phone call. I do appreciate that they are welcoming back their guests who are stepping outside for a phone call. But, it's unnecessary to greet them every single time. It was evident that few times it wasn't sincere. It became redundant and way too much overdone. WIFI & MUSIC: WiFi worked great without any interruptions. You can easily stop by and get work done remotely. I did enjoy the music from different genres. They kept the music volume low enough that you can still work and communicate amongst each other. OVERALL: Overall, I will certainly appreciate returning and stay awhile when I am in town. The tables by wall mural have A/C vents that blow hard at you. If you have papers on the table, you may want to relocate or put paper weight to avoid being blown by the wind. Otherwise, the location was awesome. The atmosphere was unique and staff overall did a good job. I'd recommend this Starbucks. read more

At all the Starbucks here in fort smith/ Van Buren Area and all over the USA (I'm a flight attendant and I travel a lot) this place is the best place. They are always so happy and sweet and helpful and understanding. I literally leave from VB to come all the way here because of the employees here. Seriously every single one of them are super nice to compared to a lot. Definitely my favorite store and I've been to thousands of them. read more

ordered a venti matcha latte, it was half full of foam, before I even got home, it was half empty when the foam disappeared. didn't even take a sip. I also ordered a ham and Swiss, and there was 1 piece of ham sloppily slapped on there. I'm so tired of Starbucks having 0 effort in their work and yet they complain about people not tipping them for their crappy service! I recommend everyone go to Dunkin' Donuts instead. Expect high priced coffee, stale pastries, baristas with attitudes of superiority, and entitled millennials on their phones taking up every seat because they ordered one cup of coffee three hours earlier. Just had the most terrible experience here this morning. It is not uncommon for me to place a mobile order and swing in on my way to work to pick it up. It's a process that worked smoothly...until today. 5:37 am I ordered a bagel with cream cheese. I arrived several minutes later and went to the drive thru. No one spoke from inside and no one answered when I said hello so I thought perhaps they didn't have a headset on. I drove to the window. The young lady inside walked away and no one came when I timidly honked once. I drove around to the front door and parked. I got out and could see two people inside and then later a third person. All three proceeded to ignore me. The door was locked so I knocked. I returned to the car to get my phone to show them through the window that I had placed a mobile order. I banged on the window. A young man named Travis, who obviously has never learned the meaning of customer service, smirked at me, gave me a snotty nod like "Yeah, yeah, I see ya" and then proceeded to shake his damn head at me like I was some crazy person. Meanwhile I am at a loss. Travis finally comes to the door and I asked him, without screaming, what the problem was. He informed me that the store hours were changing. BFD. If I read the sign on the window correctly the open time is 5:30 am and at any rate if that is incorrect then the mobile app should not have let me place the order. I can accept that there was a mistake made here with the app and the new store hours. What I will not tolerate is a snotty little brat in the SERVICE INDUSTRY being outright rude to me as a customer. Like I don't deal with people who annoy the crap out of me all day long. Travis informed me, still with an entitled air, that his manager is named Scott. Travis seemed unconcerned that I would be asking for the manager's name. Likely no one has ever taught young Travis accountability. I am disgusted by this incident. read more

My family and I stopped by for a few late drinks to continue our road trip and we got there minutes before closing after going to a different location that was closed. While our drinks were being made, it took a little time because there were 4 drinks and one barista, Elysia was so polite and had a wonderful conversation about our vacation! Twice in the last month, once this evening, I have visited this particular location and a very unfortunate event occurred. The first time, I pulled in through the drive through, behind around 7-10 vehicles. I then waited in line for about 25 minutes. I made it to the ordering screen and waited about 5 mins and even said "hello" multiple times with no answer. The light of the menu was ON. I finally drove around to the window and the entire store was closed. Lights off, locked up. No one in the building. I had arrived long before their listed closing hours. Every car (around 8) behind me also experienced this. Then, this evening at 6:38pm, I arrived again and this location, but this time I parked and wanted to come inside to order and also purchase cups. Right after pulling up, an employee walked quickly to the front door, and taped a hand written sign up that stated "sorry for the inconvenience, but we will be closing at 6:30pm today." What is the issue with unpredictable and inconsistent closing times? Especially on a Saturday? Very disappointed. I am imagining that this has something to do with the pandemic, however, consistency and notification of modified hours would be appreciated. read more

So this Starbucks just opened... first off in a bad location, bad parking. Like why here? But whatever, we walked in with a positive attitude. We get go up to order and "Annalea" was the cashier and was extremely rude. She rudely asked for my name, and then my sister ordered after and instead of politely asking she commanded her to "spell it!" I ordered an iced green tea latte, and it was good so I'll give them that. Other than that it was just a bad experience. I guess I'll just to stick to that quality service on Rogers. read more

One of the workers, bearded fellow, seems like a hard man. Saw him yelling at a worker (which must of made him the boss) and give a bummy looking customer a hard time. Although he seems to bend over backwards for preppy looking customer's. Another of the workers can be impatient with your order, but besides those two the rest are all smiles. read more

this starbucks is several levels better than most other starbucks. ive been to a lot...its a bit warmer in atmosphere and attitude and the baristas are surprisingly consistently better at making drinks, across the board for most of them there. i only go to the one on rogers if this one is closed. read more

I know this is a new location and wanted to check it out so when my daughter had an orthodontist appointment next door it was the perfect opportunity to stop in. As we walked in it was a very dark... I even checked to make sure the lights were on-which they were. We were never greeted which I thought was strange since every Starbucks I walk into I am usually welcomed. Christina was the cashier and took orders. My daughter and I sat down at the front in the very comfy chairs and waited for our drinks when all of a sudden I heard a man yelling from the doorway of the kitchen area; loud enough to startle my daughter and I. This man continued speak in an extremely loud voice that made myself feel very uncomfortable. He was explaining to the employees about cleaning the pumps and when items are expired. The vibe of this location is not one I enjoyed and I am not sure I will go back to this Starbucks. read more
