Still a solid Starbucks located in the "oasis of the plains." It's been a few years since I reviewed this location and I'm happy to say it's still very clean, and if anything the quality of the drinks have improved. This last time we stopped by it was very early in the morning as we had been stranded in Colby overnight due to weather and after ordering ahead on the app our drinks and food were ready for us when we arrived and we were able to get on our way quickly. Can't say anything that sets this place apart aside from the fact that it feels like a comfort and convenience of home while travelling. I still maintain that the travel center this is located in is the best stop between Hays and Colorado Springs or Denver depending on your final destination. read more

Great spot to charge Tesla with food court, restrooms and convenience store attached. There's also a dog park outside. The Starbucks is glassed off at one end, very clean & modern, and has high & low seating. As usual, the service is professional and maybe a bit quicker than elsewhere. read more

Priscilla, who took my order, was absolutely delightful! Then I waited 15 min for my coffee and one guy that was suppose to be a barista could not do the job. Thanks to Maddie, who came flying into work, whipped out my coffee in like 3 minutes and actually made five drinks while the guy made one. Good location in the middle of the drive between Kansas and Colorado. It's connected to a gas station, and they have restrooms there. It's a good sized location with plenty of tables to sit, if you need a rest from driving. It was clean, with plenty of parking. Made my drink pretty quickly. They ran out of Midnight Mint Mocha Fraps before 4 pm. So I decided to try the new Almond Milk Horchata Frap. It taste pretty good, kind of like hazelnut with cinnamon. Wanted to use a star reward, but the barista told me they can't there, but she did let me scan my phone to pay. Overall a good experience, although wish they accepted star rewards and had more Midnight Mint ingredients. read more

This Starbucks was in the middle of nowhere!! You better believe I was thankful to see it! Three hours before arriving there, billboards were already advertising it. After driving hundreds of miles through pretty much the Kansas plains, I needed a couple cups of coffee and some food. They had their typical breakfast sandwiches and wraps. They were pretty good for being at a truck stop (the Oasis truck stop, to be exact). The integrity of Starbucks was still very much upheld there! If I found a Hot Dog on a Stick on Rodeo Drive, I wouldn't expect a sausage containing foie gras and kobe beef wrapped in veal intestines and served with white gloves! Given this, I was so very grateful to bring reasonable expectations after a night spent in the middle of the ripe stench of fertile Kansas fields. Thank you to the staff who was more than welcoming, clean, warm and efficient unlike the McD's across the I70 that I walked out of. This Starbucks is apart of a travel center, so you DO have to walk in, there is not a drive-thru, so keep that in mind, especially during this pandemic! Masks are required. Order ahead is not available, so I would not plan on customizing your order and not being able to submit it like we did. Give yourself a little extra time to wait in line and have your order made. We got to the front pretty quickly, and our drinks were finished quickly. We ordered 4, and we had ordered and had them all in less than 10 minutes. They have a good selection of tumblers and mugs if you collect those as well. My reasoning for 4 stars, is we did end up with one wrong drink, and it was the smallest size. We all had venti sizes, or so we thought, and instead of a Venti Iced Cloud Macchiato, we ended up with a tall iced vanilla latte? It wasn't my drink so I'm not entirely sure. Nice people but they don't know how to mix powder in milk. They put the matcha powder in the cup and then added milk. Matcha ends up at the bottom of the mixing cup. I get a drink that tastes like hot milk for $6. read more

For the first time driving through Colby I was able to get in line at this Starbucks with out waiting half an hour in line to get my favorite drink, a flat white. The flat white is a great classic original you are sure to enjoy if you are looking for a bold coffee. I always ask them to add a dash of cinnamon steamed in with the almond milk. The only thing I was disappointed about this place was they do charge more for milk alternatives compared to other Starbucks locations. I was glad to be able to get in and out of this location pretty quick this last time which allowed me to get back on the road and cruise on home. read more

We knew something was when we drove up to the place. "We're not a corporate store" said the cashier when we tried to use our rewards. She then charged us an additional .60 cents for whole milk. The latte tasted like a cow pie, milk was burned. They did honor the free refill and the staff were nice. But this is not a real Starbucks. Store is unclean. Why Starbucks does this is beyond me as it tarnishes their brand and undermines confidence. If I had known I would have gone to McDonald's for a coffee drink across the street. read more

Before I go, here IS A BIG hint for the two girls working there. -Knowledge of the Product. (This is kind of a big deal if you're working at a Starbucks.) It was exciting to find out that there was a Starbucks along the way after driving for SO long. However, it is not a "corporate owned" store, so one should not expect the same level of service. The staff are not the same "cheerful" individuals I am used to dealing with when ordering a $7 Frappuccino & it just did not taste as good either. They do have the market cornered here, but I would continue driving another 100 miles if that were an option. Considering that there is a Starbucks location on every corner in the Northwest, I would think they could be successful in this area without having to rely on a franchisee.
