This branch of Starbucks is located in the Eastbound of Burtonwood Services in the Burtonwood area of Warrington, the services its-self is owned and operated by Welcome Break, and this Starbucks store also is a franchise owned by Welcome Break.
With it being a franchise store, this means you can't use Starbucks Rewards here however you can use Starbucks cards to pay, this means that although you can pay on your card you can't pay with any rewards which you might have, which I suppose is reasonable and better than nothing and still means you can save on any extra syrups, shots or cream etc if you're a Gold member, like myself which I recently renewed for another year after earning 50 stars between December 2016 and December 2017.
This overall branch of Starbucks was OK, it didn't feel like a typical branch as it is located in a motorway services, and the seating and area as a whole is shared with KFC, the branch does feel like Starbucks in ways because it has the standard menu stocked here, and a small range of food and merchandise.
Another bonus for this store is that unlike most Starbucks stores, it is open on Christmas Day, as service stations by law in the United Kingdom have to provide a basic service every day, which of course includes Christmas Day.
I ordered a Venti Iced Gingerbread Latte which came to £4.50, which was £0.55 more expensive than a standard store, sadly I couldn't use my Starbucks reward which I had acquired after earning 15 stars here, so I had to pay.
It's worth noting Welcome Break vouchers are accepted here, having got some last year after a bad experience at Hartshead Moor Services which is also owned by Welcome Break and is located close to Leeds, in Brighouse in Yorkshire, I used them here today towards my bill.
My coffee quality was OK, it was above average compared to others I've had from motorway service stations which were good, and the staff also seemed friendly enough too, they didn't seem depressed and angry to be working Christmas Day, they still seemed friendly which of course was good.
The gingerbread cream wasn't the typical yellowy colour from a stronger gingerbread flavour I usually enjoy at most branches, but still had a hint of gingerbread in and still was of decent quality.
This branch also had free wifi, run by BT Openzone which was shared for the rest of the Welcome Break Motorway Service complex.
Overall, a decent branch of Starbucks with good opening hours including Christmas Day, coffee quality and service is good, yet overall comfortability isn't great, with not really any Starbucks style cushioned and comfortable seating, of course the issue with the price being much higher is there too (yet this is common for service station), yet as a decent branch I still feel it deserves a three star rating, in which is the 101th Starbucks store I have visited and gone on to review on Yelp. read more
