I like the fact that the staff are always pretty bubbly, easy going and super friendly - it doesn't seem fake and don't seem understaffed and overworked like some of the big chains seem to be. The coffee isn't bad and the surroundings 'Costa-ery' but a little better - I like the fact that they support local farmers for milk and even have a 2nd hand book exchange system upstairs. Its slightly hidden away, bit higher up the street from Robinsons and a bit lower down than Richer sounds...so isn't likely to pick up passing trade as easily, but i think its worth the 2 minute walk off the main highstreet. Spotlessly clean and with delightfully lovely staff it was a real pleasure visiting Tandem today. I had red pepper and houmous bagel for just £2 - nicely priced and makes working from a coffee shop more affordable and therefore something i can do more often. Wi-Fi is free and streamed the programme i was watching without any glitches...so another tick for working from there. And a final tick for providing a quiet and pleasant atmosphere. My favourite thing though....they are one of the only coffee shops that have delivered a hot chocolate to absolute perfection. Hot, not too much foam, not too thick, but still absolutely chocolately (and with teeny marshmallows). I am so impressed (as you wouldn't believe how many people seem to get this wrong). when i asked about it she said it takes a little longer than normal to make as they have to melt the limini drops slowly (that's the chocolate) and whisk it, but in my opinion it is well worth the wait. The real deal Café, super nice staff, great coffee. I only have powdered eggs in my hotel and at least three times a week. I have ventured out to a new place to try a good English breakfast and coffee. Good crowd, clean, great service and mostly a really nice English breakfast. Everything is expensive these days so I know some think this is a bit steep, but 12 pounds is not that much for what you get. Will come back again with pictures, but this really hit the spot and got me going for the day. Highly recommend.!!!!

This is the larger of the two locations Costa Coffee have in Stockport town centre, it is located in the Peel Centre. On my last visit, the store was full of dirty tables with cups which seemed to have been left there for such a long time, of half drank beverages, I didn't like the drink I ordered then as my medium caramel latte cooler was far too thick and my friend's complained both of their standard hot latte's were far from hot. The store is much nicer and cleaner inside, perhaps that is because they are no longer allowing customers to sit in, as it is impossible due to government guidelines as of January/February 2021, when I wrote this review. I mainly came here to collect a few snacks to make the most of an ongoing promotion for ordering ahead on the app, the order collection point is in the most awkward position, being so close to the door, It meant if you were standing there, it would be pretty easy to either get hit by a door or form a queue which meant people couldn't even enter the store, now come on if the smaller of the two Costa locations in Stockport town centre can put it out of the way, why can't this location, which is the larger one? 2* - Improving but still I don't think I'm going to give this place a second chance, the staff seemed disinterested too as I didn't order a drink this time around, only food, which still shouldn't be a problem as they shouldn't have something available to order if they don't want to serve it.

And I LOVE soup, so that really is saying something! They have quite an extensive menu for a little cafe, and the staff are very friendly. They also have free WI-FI available if you just ask for the code to log on!
