There is a large selection of cakes, coffees and even light meals inc today there was 4 choices of soup! Price wise for coffee its average, with a reasonably prices toasted T-cake with Jam for £1.65. The girl on the till taking ordered a little quiet, petite and mouse like, which to be honest for such a coffee shop needs someone with more vigour and personality, think of the Starbucks staff who generally cant do enough for you... Thats whats needed here! Oh yes, ask for a loyalty card... After 9 coffees your next is free!

An excellent range of teas and coffees and a range of cakes such as chocolate cake and scones with jam & butter. I decided to try one of the scones, as they looked home made and seemed quite good value. Theres a few comfortable seats but most of the seating us quite hard and unforgiving. They have wifi available through a service which you need to sign up to which was too much of a faff to be bothered. A bit of redecoration & updating wouldn't go amiss, especially externally. I would go again if I happen to be in Burnley town centre, but only because theres nothing better.

Having this store does come at the expense of having a Tesco Cafe, I do prefer the latter as they usually offer a greater range of hot food compared to a standard coffee shop, I would have thought a Tesco Cafe which serves Costa Coffee (similar to most of their locations), would have made more sense. There is a small seating area here, it pretty much looks and feels like a regular Costa store. I did find service to be a little slow, the staff were in the back when I arrived and there was nothing to get a barista's attention, and I always feel uncomfortable having to shout to get them to hear me when the staff are in the back room. I did find the coffee to lack flavour, and the selection of food also seemed depleted, despite not being busy at all in the middle of the day. 2* - Useful while shopping in Tesco, but this location could be so much better if you do have time to take the short walk into the town centre, there is a larger Costa as well as many better alternatives.

Perhaps not…read moresurprisingly considering the name, it sells continental food with a great Mediterranean flavour and theme to many of the dishes. The seating area is quite small and it does get busy at lunchtimes but the food is delicious and reasonably priced, making it a great alternative to the chain fast food restaurants in Burnley. Continentals also offers food for takeaway and you can telephone your order to ensure it's ready for a speedy collection during your lunch break. If you enjoy fresh salads, perfectly grilled meats and have a love of olives then Continentals won't disappoint!

The store has a drive-thru, but you can still walk in and place your order which is handy if you fancy a takeout drink during the UK's ongoing lockdown. They don't accept mobile orders which is a shame, as it was recently expanded to include many more stores including some franchises, so it's a shame this one missed out. It is a franchise store, so prices are a little higher than normal, my drink ended up costing £0.15 more than at a corporate owned store, although compared to other franchises it did cost more again. I ordered a Venti iced Gingerbread Latte, I was just happy to get one seeing as though the majority stores have moved on from the festive red cups, my drink was good and I was pleased they were accepting reusable cups, considering many stores have ditched accepting them again following the UK's third national lockdown. The staff seemed really friendly and happy to help, the interior was also really nice, so it could be a nice place to sit inside with a drink when government legislation allows, there is also limited outdoor seating on a rare nice day, I wouldn't particularly want to sit there as it is part of an Esso/EG Petrol Station, but they have tried to make it as nice as they can. 4* - Overpriced for sure and I was just relieved to have an earned reward so I didn't have to pay the full £4.60 for my drink, but I was happy with my overall experience, the store is nice, the drinks are nice and the service was good too.

Bridges café is a lovely little café at the back of Burnley town centre, next to The Bridge pub…read more There is an eat in area which looks pleasant enough although I have only ever used the take away shop which is separated from the seating area. Café Bridges sells a good range of lunchtime food including sandwiches, baked potatoes, pasties, salads etc. The food is always fresh and tasty and they do some lovely combinations of sandwich fillings. Although it's popular and there are often queues, service tends to be quick and is always friendly. The prices are a little on the high side but it's worth it for food that is of a higher quality and fresher than many prepacked sandwiches you may find elsewhere.

A great spot for breakfast in Waddington - next door down from the Waddie Arms…read more It's small and cozy and our party of 10 pretty much took over the front area. As fast paced city folk (from DC and Hong Kong), it seemed like the food and coffee came out a bit slowly but it gave us a minute to sit down, relax and remember that we don't need to be in a rush ALL of the time. I had a full English - my first of the trip - and it was delicious -- I substituted the black pudding for an extra egg. The yolks were so orange and the butter on toast so yellow -- just a little reminder that all is right in the world. Mmmhmm.
