TL;DR(Review Below)
-Go to Caffe Nero a little further down the road.
-3 of my friends told me to go to a different Starbucks, i ignored them.
-I ordered, was given the wrong sized order and it was cold. By a man biased towards young girls and women.
-It was a bad service and the order that was given to me was the wrong size and was cold.
-NO points were put onto my membership card NEITHER of the times i had ordered.
-The Dinner-ladies that run the Starbucks at the college university centre do a better job than specially "trained" Baristas.
My Experience,
I received a gift card and membership to Starbucks as a present over Christmas. Since then I've been into this Starbucks twice, I usually go to Nero, which in my opinion has superior coffee, is cheaper and the staff are actually good at their job and aren't rude. If it wasn't for this present I would never go back to this Starbucks again. As it stands, I'm going to give them another go and if I'm not satisfied, go to a different Starbucks or Nero, depending on where I am.
To anybody who works at the Blackpool Starbucks in the Houndshill Centre on Victoria Street, your Manager needs to be replaced. This is either a case of hiring consistently terrible staff or bad training. Out of everybody I know there is ONE of them that hasn't had a bad experience, and she would rather drink the wrong kind of order than point it out due to her being embarrassed.
The first visit to Starbucks wasn't a brilliant experience, I asked for a Tall Gingerbread Latte. The staff were smiley and friendly and the initial part of my visit went smoothly, so I had assumed all would go well. I waited in line, some teenage girls, no older than 16, probably younger, were in front of me and the staff member who served me (I use to term "served" loosely), a man between 25/30 years old (Maybe older) with a grey tidy beard, serving the coffee after it was made was happy and joking with them, calling out names and giving their order to them. Something that should be done with EVERY customer, not just half of them. 2 minutes later my coffee arrives, no smile and my name wasn't called out. I just got a very emotionless "Gingerbread Latte" and had to go and check myself to see whether it was mine or not... He didn't even attempt to look at me, the name on the cup or make eye contact with me or any of the people stood in line before or after me. From what I could see, this was with everyone except Women/Girls (For those with wandering minds I'm not saying he's a pervert, it was probably innocent enough, I'm just describing what I had observed whilst I was there). Not to mention that it was the wrong size AND was almost cold. I might add that I'm not a rude person, I have manners, I am very polite and manners are something I make a conscious effort to have even when I'm in a bad mood, which I wasn't. So I can't say I'd made any of them angry or irritated, that would've made his behaviour slightly understandable.
The second time i went in everything was fine, mainly due to pointing out everything that was wrong the last time. I shouldn't have to point out what went wrong for them to do the job they are paid for.
I have to mention that 3 of my friends said that it isn't worth going to because the staff are useless, I ignored their advice and went anyway. I shouldn't have. I study at Blackpool and the Fylde College, there is an unofficial Starbucks there, run by Dinner-ladies, who can get your order right and deliver a hot coffee consistently, no matter how busy or quiet they are. This speaks volumes about the level of competency at the real Starbuck's in the town centre, when dinner-ladies do a better job than "Trained" Baristas.
Also, out of the times I've been in so far, none of them have been added to my membership card, even though I gave it to them at the same time as handing them money. The money which I payed for the wrong product and terrible service (Only after the till, the woman at the till was fine).
Thanks for reading. I hope anyone else reading this has a better experience than me. read more
