I brought my daughter and her friend by Starbucks in S14th for a quick coffee. They ran inside to pick up their orders, which were made timely and well! When she came to get in the car she dropped her venti Frappuccino in the floor of the front seat. I asked her to run in, ask for a new clean cup and some napkins to try and clean up what we could in the parking lot. To say this location, Becky in particular, went above and beyond is an understatement. Becky came outside with the girls with a bucket of sanitized water, rags and bags to clean up the spill. She promptly, on her own helped us clean up the spilled drink in my car, and remade my daughter's drink for her. After a long day, Becky and the staff of this Starbucks earned my loyalty for as long as I live in this town. Thank you your kindness, generosity, and service to us today!!!! read more

Such a shame that so much money was put into a brand new Starbucks but the service is so bad. It's like putting lipstick on a pig. I don't understand what the deal is around service because they closed the location across the street that was located in the strip center by HEB. The service was always very good. Where did those team members go? Yesterday was my first time going by to grab a drink. I ordered my chai tea pulled to the window and waited 10 minutes, yes 10 minutes watching through the window as the people stood around talking while one barista seemed to be doing everything. I felt bad for the guy working the drive thru. His name was London and he was very nice but I could tell their shenanigans inside put him in an uncomfortable position. This morning I went through the drive thru again. The first thing I was told is that they couldn't do the oatmeal because they were out of the bowls. Seriously? What are you planning on handing me my tea in? Can't you use another cup like a tall or grande size? They all hold hot liquid. God forbid you problem solve. I guess the other thing that bothered me about the situation this morning was no apology, just "we can't do oatmeal, were out of bowls". When I pull up to the window. There were 4 team member including the person making the drinks standing there talking while I waited for my drink. Totally not cool. The drive thru lane at this location is very awkward and doesn't have a lot of room for cars to gather because of the busy streets at the intersection. There's also two ways to enter the line and in a busy situation could cause drama. I would avoid this new location if possible. Slow, incompetent and inconvenient drive thru. read more

It's a Starbucks with Starbucks coffee. Every time I go.... it's what they're serving. It's always busy and people are always there. But I've stood in line for an hour and a half at the Starbucks at the Alamo. So I've learned to go with the flow. This particular location won't take 1.5 hours to serve me a coffee. read more

This is a long one lol. I have been a regular at this Starbucks since I moved to Abilene in December. I go back and forth between the same two orders, today it was a tall white chocolate mocha with oat milk. I pay, TIP and get the drink. Just by the color I instantly knew something was off, it was basically completely white. (If you're a Starbucks regular you know what I mean) I tasted it and then looked back at the window - mind you it was super slow and there was no one behind me. The lady that took my order opens the window and asked what was wrong I said "I can't taste the coffee, it tastes like milk and sugar. Is there anyway we can fix this" she IMMEDIATELY got irritated with me and rolled her eyes. I said "sorry I order this drink regularly and it just doesn't taste right" she AGAIN rolls her eyes and makes a "ugh" noise and tells me "you can come inside if you want it fixed" and then SHUTS THE WINDOW!! I could understand them being super busy and wanting me to come inside but there was NO ONE THERE!! I didn't have time to go inside but I would've even been willing to buy another shot if the window wasn't shut in my face. I went back about an hour later after I had time and went inside, the moment I walked in someone says "I know you I saw you drive off upset earlier, would you like me to fix your drink" I said "yes that would be wonderful" She fixed my drink and we chatted a bit, she agreed fhat the way the window was handled was unfair to me and that they were extremely slow and I should've had my drink fixed this morning as Starbucks policy is "if you are unhappy with your order we will happily fix it for you." She was so nice and sweet and made me feel so much better. I also found out that the lady that was so rudely annoyed by me this morning was the general manager!!!........ If she's that rude to customers I can't imagine how rude she is to her employees ): You almost lost a dedicated Starbucks drinker this morning but luckily the rest of the staff made me feel comfortable enough to return. Well, I think this is Starbucks # 1,437,328, and it's just like the other 1,437,327. Agree? If you have good help behind the counter, you always know what your going to get here. A good drink and a delicious pastry. There are plenty of options, so your not stuck getting the same old thing every time. I drink coffee in the morning for caffeine, but I'm really NOT a fan of the taste. Now, fix me one of the cold, creamy drinks and I have a reason to smile! I ordered a hot chocolate and got a toasted white mocha instead. The girl at the window was beyond rude. Her name tag was covered up by her denim shirt so I couldn't get her name. The staff at the Barrow Street location continuously prove their lack of consideration for their customers, or perhaps a lack of competency to complete an order correctly. Sadly it seems their rainbow colored hair staff is much more concerned with shoving a tip screen in your face prior to causing an inconvenience in your morning. Conversely, maybe the only positive takeaway is another reason to not spend hard earned money on overpriced incorrectly made coffee. read more

Ok, I waited long enough to post this review. And my motivation to do so this morning is to balance out that first, fairly negative review. I've been coming to this location since the day they opened, I'm there embarrassingly almost every morning. I do agree with that first review, when they first opened the place was slow as hell, but I just recently moved here from Round Rock (That's a town that got ate up by Austin, seems nobody in Abilene knows around Rock, but they have heard of Austin), so I was used to sitting in my truck, in line behind 20 cars almost every visit, so it didn't bother me that much. But this place, as time has gone on, and I think a visit was paid by Starbucks corporate one day, faces changed and now this place runs fairly smooth on a consistent basis. They always get my crazy special order of carnal morning dose of caffeinated crack right. And are now doing it better than my old regular Starbucks down in Round Rock. Which is pretty impressive, because the Austin area is full of young hipster purple haired, tattooed, coffee snobs that just drool at the thought of becoming a barista. (Took me awhile to figure out that sentence without getting into politics lol) Anyways, the only reason I'm dropping a star is because whoever bought this property should have made a deal with the land owner behind, took a D9 Dozer and flattened out that eyesore of a house and expanded the parking lot. Not only would they have made it way easier for customers to walk inside to enjoy the new building, but they would have helped in making Abilene a little less destitute looking. Moral of the story? Give them time, they will find the groove. read more

Lets just say I'm from the land of starbucks living in washington state and this starbucks was the worst I had seen, until today. I hope today marks the day this starbucks finally got rid of that lazy good for nothing morning crew. It was a new group of crew members and they all seemed like they were hustling and not gabbing by the drive through window while the old lady does all the work. I saw one of those gabby girls this morning pretty much getting ran over and didnt know how to work, while the others just brushed by her leaving her in a whirlwind. Good job this morning crew. Keep it up. It's only 3 star because I'm still not sure if those lazy baristas and morning manager are still employed. Maybe a brisk retraining to relearn what is expected of a starbucks employee. read more

My wife and I were passing through. It was my birthday might I add. Our debit cards had been compromised and all we had was a gift card that somehow demagnetized. Love the new Starbucks location. Much more of a pleasant atmosphere. I use the app and my drinks are almost always ready when I get there just as predicted on the app. On occasion, my drink may not be made right or taste just a little bit off but the employees here are always so helpful and get it remade immediately!
