In between 1pm and 3 PM, they have a happy hour with half off coffee. Around that time you will see a line, because it's hard to beat half off gourmet coffee offerings. Okay! I'm not the biggest coffee connoisseur, but I would say I'm the pickiest. I haven't found many standout places. Until today! I'm visiting Lafayette and after a quick search, found Reve. I ordered a medium caramel and vanilla iced latte and added cold foam. I don't know any details of how anything was made, but it was so perfect. I'm a chronic never finisher of coffee, but I had to slow myself down to keep from finishing it within a couple minutes. The cold foam wasn't sweetened, which worried me, but after swirling it all together, it was just the perfect latte. The syrups didn't have any of the ickyness you sometimes find (maybe they're house made? I didn't ask) and the cold foam made for the most perfect consistency. I'm no coffee purist, but if you like a yummy drink that I don't think was over the top sweet, this was an amazing order! History: My parents had 2 homes; one @ South Crowley & one @ Intracoastal City, so I frequented Robie's for decades. I can hear my late Mom: "Son, when you get to Robie's, get me a small sack of yellow onions. Ask the butcher to split & season 3 small fryers for our BBQ tomorrow." Champagne's Robie's is still mostly called "Robie's" by many of us. They now carry multiple frozen products from local food companies like "LENA'S" & "Ouida's". Crawfish pies, seafood egg rolls, shrimp dishes, etc. When I last visited the in-store made boudin was unavailable, but I think that may have been corrected by now. Excellent large front parking, helpful folks, nice selections on most things. Do stop by Champagne's "ROBIE'S" and check it out ! Rick .
