They picked me up and drove me all over the place for an extra hour. I had given them my new doctors address before I got on. They took me and dumped me at an address and left. When I went in the people said that was the wrong address that I needed to be about three blocks away. I had a stroke and can't walk very good. A very nice lady waiting to see the doctor at the place where I was helped me by putting me in her car and taking me to the new address 3 blocks away. I couldn't drive to. Medical City Dallas. So Star picked me and my wife at home in Ferris.Drove us to the hospital. Then they picked up my wife that same day. Brought her home... Then they picked me up at Medical City after having my hip replaced and brought me home...Buses are spotless. Every bus has a lift for the handicapped!!! Again thank you Star Transit!! Oh you can guarantee my wife and I will look to Star Transit for our transportation needs... Your buses are clean and your AC iWork's great!!! I called Star Transit because I needed transportation for a doctor's appointment to the Dallas V.A. Medical Center for Wednesday 03 Aug. 2022. The driver arrived at 11:00a.m. When I finished with labs and seeing the doctor I called Star Transit to request pick up at 2:20p.m. I spoke to a dispatcher named Ella. Normally, they've always been very good about picking me up in a reasonable amount of time, but this day was different. Fifty two minutes later at 3:12p.m no one had showed up so I called again and spoke to Shelby letting him know I was still waiting. That's when he informed me that he'd gone to lunch at the time of my initial call. Thirty eight minutes had past, so at 3:50p.m. I called again, spoke to Shelby to find out the status of the bus because I was still at the V.A. Another thirty-eight minutes later I was finally picked up at 4:28p.m making my total wait time 128 minutes which is outrageous. My complaint is against Ella, if she knew that Shelby was at lunch why couldn't someone else be notified that I was waiting to be picked up? Poor customer service and lack of communication on her part. I contacted supervisor Mr. Antonio Harris this morning 04 August 2022 @9:10 regarding this matter and I trust he can resolve this matter so that it doesn't happen again. read more

The driver of bus 707 had the driveway almost completely blocked this morning making it difficult for others to pass. Then he was following too closely and almost hit me in my rear drivers side quarter panel as I was backing into a parking spot. He was using his cell phone and had one hand on the wheel. Very unprofessional. The service Star Transit provides is a great thing. However you may want to be more cautious as to who you hire. read more

Spent the entire day calling only to be hung up on about every 20 minutes which would put my call to the back of the line. I had an open job fair Monday to go to. Now I won't have a ride and can not drive. Mesquite needs a better option than this. It is Friday. I have been calling since noon to get a ride on Monday. If I could give a -5 I would. PLEASE PLEASE THINK TWICE ABOUT WHO YOU LET DRIVE YOUR LOVED ONES AROUND. We don't have a choice who drives around us. On 12/20/17 a STAR Transit vehicle operated by a 73 year old driver T-Boned me at an intersection as he was entering the DART station. During the hour that we waited for police, I tried to be compassionate in my panic and be understanding (it was dark, he has glasses, it's foggy - things happen). But after police arrive, his statement flips. He decided to lie to the police and tell them that my lights were off - completely untrue. He gives the police a # for a witness that no one saw but him and no one was able to reach by phone except (conveniently) TML Intergovernmental Risk Pool (STAR's insurance). I've attached the determination / diagram from the police. He clearly failed to yield right of way, he caused the collision. There is no mention of this false 'lights off' statement because it couldn't be corroborated with a credible witness (or ANY witness). I called the claim in to STAR Transit that day. It took 13 calls and vms to get ANY call back. I thought that the Executive Director had called me back, a week later her EA told me it was a woman named Vanessa who spoke with me. Vanessa (if that's who it was) lied to me twice on the day of the accident 1) she told me that she had submitted the claim to TML and that it was out of STAR's hands and 2) that she had PERSONALLY watched the dash cam footage of me driving without my lights on. A week later (after many more calls - since TML did NOT receive a claim) I found out that she never submitted the claim, because she doesn't even submit claims AND there are NO dash cams on ANY of STAR's buses. It is completely unacceptable that STAR transit is allowed to function in Dallas (they're in Terrell) with the record they have; Google 'STAR Transit Accidents'. I am all for employing our seniors. And I didn't want to take away Jack's livelihood - but his dishonesty has jeopardized mine. My commute is now between 4-6 hours a day. I am a single mother, I had literally bought that car (the first I'd ever financed) less than 2 months prior. There is ZERO integrity with this company. If Jack Burrow cannot see me in the dark then he should NOT be driving a commercial vehicle or be entrusted with the safety of the people of Dallas. If STAR Transit wants to continue to employ and LIE for their drivers, then I certainly hope that sometime very very very soon they get what they deserve. Just driving my kid to school one morning and now my entire life is upside down. Thanks STAR Transit. What a Merry Christmas it was. read more
