The studio truly went above and beyond, even creating an outdoor stage approved by the city so classes could continue safely. We are so grateful for that commitment. Since 2020, we've experienced a genuine sense of camaraderie and family every step of the way. The owners are incredibly dedicated, always ensuring that each child's experience is purposeful, supportive, and focused on growth. We also love the variety of dance styles offered and the quality of the instructors. They are truly exceptional. Their programs are of award-winning caliber, and the musical theater program is easily one of the best in the city.

Rarely was someone at the front desk and when there was, she was usually rather cold and aloof. I sent 5-6 emails over the course of our time, even offering to help out with the recital and never received a response. When I finally emailed to pause our membership for the Summer, it was just cancelled - no questions, no acknowledgement, just stopped charging.

*I hope Yelp won't delete my review, as they are known to delete bad reviews*…read more The owner tried to convince us that our child needed more than just one lesson per week (ideally 3x according to him) because they claimed to be a professional institution. So, I enrolled my daughter in two lessons per week. Instead of learning proper foundations or techniques, she would spend the first hour doing conditioning exercises, and during the second hour, the theater program kids would join the class. That second hour was mainly used to rehearse choreography for their theater productions. Your child would receive even less attention, especially during the weeks leading up to the opening of a show. I honestly felt scammed. On top of that, the main roles in their theater productions seem to be dominated by the theater director's siblings. In case you don't know, when auditioning for a theater company, the casting directors usually want to hear you sing first, once you pass the singing audition, they want to see how well you can dance and then evaluate your acting last. But that didn't seem to be the case with their theater program. This is why their theater program is not growing! The heart of musical theather is singing. At $400 per month and four months to complete the production, you can find a much more affordable and better production, and most importantly, a FAIR opportunity for every child. I took my daughter out of this school and enrolled her in a different one. I was surprised by how different the approach was at the new school compared to The Grand Academy of Ballet. Yes, parking is terrible!

My daughter refused to go there and refused to put Tutu on, she is not twirl or plitte at home any more, she looked very sad and silent after class! The owner is horrible! Parking was nightmares! I emailed them twice to cancel my membership, you know what? They still charged from my credit card, not out of my imagination! School like this, be careful to send your little one there! You don't know what gonna happen with this school environment and this administration type!!

Walking-in, the music was loudly playing and the interior had a party type of vibe. Thankfully there were ear plugs available for purchase. Checking-in was a bit difficult since it was hard for me to hear the receptionist due to the loud music. She was also wasn't the most friendly or welcoming which didn't make me feel great. I also needed to use the bathroom and her directions weren't very clear, so I had to ask her where to locate it a couple of times. I ended up using the bathroom at a nearby spa which I'm not sure if that's the bathroom she was referring to. There were lots of cubbies to store my stuff before taking the class which was nice. The age demographic of the participants was on the higher side, but everyone seemed so energetic. The instructor was also fun and lively. I liked her hip-hop style choreography which was full of energy and grooves. I was impressed that she was able to dance with so much energy for an hour straight. I overall enjoyed the music selection and choreography of the class. Overall, a decent experience here. Since it was my first time, I was able to get into this class for $15. Otherwise it would be $30 which I think is a bit pricey compared to regular dance classes in LA that go for 1 hour and 30 minutes for around $20. However, I do recognize this could be the standard for these types of classes. I wouldn't go out of my way to do this again, but would be possibly down if someone invited me. More of a preference, but I would feel more comfortable taking classes like these with people closer to my age demographic.

I love that tjey expanded not only in size but also the types of dance offered. My favorites are their heels classes. Admittedly some of the beginners classes don't feel like beginners because many people already know the moves lol Every class I've attend, the instructor had great energy, broke down the moves easily, was open to questions, and made you feel confident! If you're new to the Playground here are some tips: - come early to find parking. Yes there's limited meter parking, but there are streets that let you park from 8-8pm without a permit for 2 hours - bring water you will sweat! - you can walk in with a bag of your clothes and additional shoes since they have dressing rooms - come with a friend if you're shy and so they can record you if you want - make sure your phone is charged so you can ask someone to record what you learned - remind yourself that you're here to have fun! You can get in your head when so many around you are so good and comfortable. Also, instructors usually get dancers at the end to dance with them for videos and it can feel like youre not good when they don't choose you but remember: you're there for fun
