I also liked the convenience of everything downtown has to offer being right outside. Parking was a hit too- even though Monster Jam at Ford Field & another show at The Fillmore were going on, we were able to park behind City Theatre for ten bucks. Maybe it was just a lucky day, I don't know. Venue aside, I have to say that Robocop The Musical! was amazing, maybe even the best show I've been to. Impressive, clever, localized script and talented actors that made me laugh on a day when I was super sick & crabby. I am so excited about what a great night I had at this place!

The store manager Tom is one of the nicest guys you'll ever meet. He knows what he's talking about and can always point you in the right direction. The showroom up front features all of the sound equipment and there's a lighting room in back to show off all of the awesome fixtures they have. I was very happy with a recent rental of a subwoofer and mixer. The cost was reasonable and they reviewed the item checklist with me when I brought it back. If you can get out to 14 and Dequindre, do it. It's worth the trip.

Disney's The Lion King North American Tour was a welcome production to the "D". This was take 2 in seeing this play and it did not disappoint. Last time I experienced this play was in Toledo. I can hands down say that the Detroit Opera House was a 100 percent better experience. The Opera House is beautiful and has better seating. There is not a bad seat in the house. The experience in seating on the main floor along the aisle was a wonderful treat. Iykyk Bravo Detroit Opera House! Take a bow! The Detroit Opera House Parking Center is directly across the street on the corner. Please note that the Detroit Opera House does have a required bag check.

The food was very tasty and we were able to meet and take pictures with three members of The Lion King production. There are elevators throughout the Opera House and plenty of parking nearby. Facility is clean and has such beautiful architecture. Acoustics are wonderful and there are no "bad seats". The show was AMAZING and my seat was fantastic. Back of the main floor on the aisle, which meant seamless entry and exit. There are plenty of restrooms on each floor and they are very clean. In addition, snacks are available for purchase. Merchandise selection was great and they had some pretty nice bundle deals. I purchased a blanket, Hakuna Matata tea mug and received a tote bag for $65. This is a traveling production. I highly recommend seeing it! The stage, costumes, music, and story are heartwarming. A great night out in Downtown Detroit!

Thinking about hiring the Simone Vitale band for your wedding or other special event?  I suggest…read moreyou DON'T under any circumstances -- here is our story.  In anticipation of a June 2018 wedding in Northern Michigan we signed an contract with Simone in the Fall of 2017 and wired him 50% of the total fee as a down payment.  As the wedding date approached, our wedding planner began to work with Simone on details such as lodging and meal requirements and he was engaged and responsive.  Then ONE WEEK before the wedding he said he was double booked for that particular date and would NOT BE ABLE TO PLAY at our wedding as contractually committed.  Simone agreed he had breached the contract and that he would return our deposit.  Now over three years later he has paid only a fraction of the amount owed despite active contact from us and an apparently busy performance schedule.  Note -- in recognition of Covid we did not pursue payment during that time.  In summary do NOT hire as Simone is UNRELIABLE, UNTRUSTWORTHY AND HAS ZERO INTEGRITY.

Simone was extremely flexible during coronavirus and gave us exactly what we wanted. The lead singer Darian is absolutely incredible as well as the piano and of course Simone himself on the guitar. Not only was the music exactly what we asked for, but he does an amazing job at coordinating the flow of the party. Simone is also always available to discuss event details over the phone with extremely quick responses. It's been an absolute pleasure working with the Simone Vitale band!
