Place is not set up yet for the public, i used to recycle large amounts of steel/copper & walk away with $600-1100 cash-so disappointed when i showed up with my silverado filled with aluminum material & the guy said it was only 20 lbs of steel after i unloaded, if you decide to go to this new location-call for prices first, ask if they can pay u out the same day in cash & make the writer fully aware of what you have-as for me, i will not star scrap disappoint me again...as i left star scrap i downloaded a app called i scrap-they are actually listed so be aware of current prices & the guy trying to make his boss extra money...ill be taking my clean #1 wire somewhere i wont feel taken advantage of read more

Dropped off my copper pipes and was told to come back 3 days later to pick up the cash or I can have them send me a check. I told them I'd pick it up as cash. Three days later I'm here. They tell me to pick it up at the "brown house". I find the brown house and knock at what seems to be the front door. This lady opens the door, gives me the nastiest look, and asks me what I wanted. I thought, "Oh crap maybe this is the wrong place." I tell her that I was here to pick up the money and I show her the receipt I was given. She takes it and tells me to wait outside. A good ten minutes goes by and I'm still waiting outside with no information. At this point I'm thinking I've been duped. They took my receipt and I now have no proof that I'm owed money. So I press the intercom button and a man answers. I tell him that a lady took my receipt, I've been waiting outside for a little over ten minutes, and I just wanted to know what the status was. He then has the audacity to tell me that he didn't know who I was. I'm standing there in shock. I explain to him my current situation again and he tells me to wait, that they're still getting the cash ready. About 5 mins later, a different lady comes out and apologizes for having me wait outside. This whole process was handled very unprofessionally, until the end when the lady apologized. One star is too much in my opinion. I work for a rather large sheet metal company and to say the professionalism and ethics of this company driven by David Stein is putrid would be a compliment. While working with them for two years they underpaid, under weighed, and took advantage of my lack of knowledge on steel scrap. On top of that when I was getting a better understanding on the way they were taking advantage they took loads from my facility with material and never paid me. Its not an issue as I have recordings of them removing their bins and accounts receivable not having payments inquired from day of removal so this is just another headache but without a response I will start getting the police or my lawyers involved. I would stay away from this company and those who do have this company I would recommend getting a report on net weight, gross weight, and tare weight so you don't experience the same issues I did. For other companies please look into using Inland Recycling, Ecology or Scrap Solutions. Educate yourself and don't get paid for dirty copper when its clean copper and don't get paid for busheling 2 when its clearly busheling 1. Oh, and when they owe you expect not to get paid and be blocked as I was. read more

I wouldn't recommend coming here to recycle I came in on the 6th to recycle some copper piping and they told me i can come in and when i came in they told me it wasn't open to the public but lucky someone said it was okay because I called before. They asked me if I wanted to have the check mail for pick it up I told them that i can pick it up. So they said to call on Monday to pick up the check. I called today on Monday to see if the check is ready and they told me they mailed it and i won't get it on until the 15th in the mail. So I was upset and checked to see the reviews and saw someone say they did get a proper amount of money for what they brought in. So i researched and found the average price for scaling copper II. I wash shocked to realize the average price for recycling it is $2.65 per pound. I was price at $1.60 that's a dollar less per pound. I will never go here again for everyone looking to recycle there metal look someone where else or if this is the only place you can go check the average price for the metal your bringing and she what they quote you at so they don't low ball you read more
